Round 12 of the Taverfest: sea, sun and sand

Work Text:

The sun created strange designs on the boy's skin.

Gwaine watched the patterns and marks that the light rays created on his boyfriend's back as the two rested from their surf.

Finally, Gwaine had convinced Merlin of the wonderful activity that was surfing and Merlin had joined him for one of the five days Gwaine would spend at the beach.

For now only one.

Gwaine had every intention of making him love surfing by the end of the day and come back of his own free will the next day, and the next.

Gwaine had full confidence in his persuasive skills.

Merlin would have had no choice but to capitulate.

The boy in question opened one eye wearily.

"Why are you breathing so heavily?" Merlin asked and Gwaine smiled. "I was going to call you, love. Come on, get up, we still have some things I want to show you."

Merlin moaned. "I do not want to."

"But you promised me one day, Merlin." Gwaine pouted. "We didn't have a day."

"Listen, I'll come tomorrow too, but let me rest now."

Gwaine smiled, satisfied.

He had foreseen that Merlin would capitulate, because clearly it could not happen otherwise.

Merlin snorted, looking at him from the ground.
"Stop being smug, I still think it's extremely dumb and dangerous."

Gwaine chuckled. "Right right, love. Clearly you had a good time, otherwise you'd be done today and we'd never talk about it again."

Merlin muttered something, but he didn't correct Gwaine's prediction.

"I love you, stubborn." Gwaine told him and Merlin turned to kiss the mouth next to him.

"I love you too." the boy whispered.

Then, a hand forced Gwaine to lie down.
"Sleep with me." Merlin said, or rather he ordered, as he lay down so that half of his body rested on his boyfriend.

"If I have to." Gwaine sighed and Merlin moaned. "You have to."

With a smile, Gwaine kissed his lover's head.
