HiMERU was not one for physical affection. HiMERU was an idol that existed for his fans, as long as he had them he had no need for anything else. On the other hand Rinne quite enjoyed physical affection, somehow always draping himself over one of the other members of Crazy:B.
It annoyed HiMERU at first, leading him to immediately brush off Rinne’s attempts at hanging off of him. The longer they spent time together the more HiMERU got used to Rinne’s antics.
Perhaps HiMERU had gotten too used to Rinne being around and attaching himself to anyone nearby. It could be that is what made it so weird for Rinne to be keeping to himself. Other than the passing touches that the choreography required Rinne kept his hands off. It bugged HiMERU, it wasn’t like he wanted the affection, he didn’t need it but it was still strange. Against his better judgement, when the opportunity presented itself, HiMERU questioned Rinne.
“You seem quite calm today Amagi.” Rinne turned to him with a tilt of his head. “Usually you are ignoring everyone’s personal space” HiMERU could see the recognition spread across Rinne’s face. It slightly startled HiMERU when Rinne let out a loud bark of a laugh.
“If I didn’t know any better I’d say you’re missin’ me hanging off of ya~” HiMERU turned up his nose at Rinne’s tease.
“HiMERU certainly does not. He was simply curious about Amagi’s change in behaviour.”
“If you say so Merumeru,’’ Rinne stepped closer to HiMERU and he prepared himself for Rinne to sling his arm around his shoulders as he usually does. After a beat there was nothing, confusion appeared on HiMERU’s faces resulting in Rinne smirking at him. “That response sure suggests otherwise!” Rinne threw his head back with a laugh.
“HiMERU regrets being even a tad worried about the likes of you.” He began moving away from Rinne with a huff. Only to be stopped by the other grabbing his wrist.
“After all that I don’t think I’ll let you escape Merumeru.” Pulling HiMERU closer to him with little resistance from the blue haired idol. HiMERU simply let Rinne pull him into a simple hug. It was strange, HiMERU cannot remember the last time someone had given him something like a hug, he found himself lost. The warmth radiating from Rinne was oddly comforting, unconsciously leaning ever so slightly into Rinne. Rinne let out a small noise, feeling HiMERU relax, a tender look on his face. Moving a hand up, Rinne began to tangle it within HiMERU hair making him relax even more.
HiMERU couldn’t remember the last time he felt so… safe? Comforted? Whatever it was, even though there was a distant tiny voice in his mind telling him that this wasn’t behavior fitting of the idol HiMERU, he allowed himself to indulge.
“See?” His voice broke the silence but was softer, toned down from the normal boisterous tone that is Rinne. “There’s no need to act like you don’t need something as simple as a hug.” Not bothering to fully separate from the warmth HiMERU spoke in a mumble.
“HiMERU doesn’t need things like this.” A hand found its way to his face raising it just enough so they would be making eye contact.
“Even if HiMERU doesn’t need it, it seems you still do.” HiMERU found himself unconsciously nuzzling into the hand cradling his cheek. He let the peaceful silence continue on for a while longer before pulling himself away.
“HiMERU does not need such things,” Rinne seemed like he was about to interrupt but HiMERU continued, “Although it was nice.” Seeming taken aback by the admission Rinne was left owlishly blinking at HiMERU for a second before a smile wormed its way to his features.
“Nice of ya to finally admit it Merumeru~” HiMERU simply rolled his eyes at Riine.
“We need to get back to practice, HiMERU is sure Oukawa and Shiina do not want to be kept waiting.” Beginning the walk back to the practice room Rinne quickly caught up to HiMERU throwing an arm over his shoulders.
Against his normal behaviour and his role as HiMERU, he let that arm stay wrapped around him, a benevolent expression shown on his face as he savoured the warmth.
