Chapter Text
Like every other day of her life, Marjorine woke up in the same room she had lived in, played in, and gotten grounded in since she was little.
Humming a tune, she happily got out of bed and after listening to the birds out the window, she went over to her closet to pick an outfit. Choosing a yellow short sleeve button-up, light blue bell bottoms, white sneakers, and a cute floral headband she took a glance in the mirror and smiled. Today was a special day and she was determined to look as nice as she could while still being casual. Receiving a fancier letter than she thought the place would send, her high school had set up a reunion for her old class, and of course, she would go! Most of her old classmates left for college or whatever opportunities opened up that had nothing to do with this old town. Marjorine however, as Kenny would tell her during their restaurant shifts, was ‘doomed to stay here and rot a little longer’. That seemed more dramatic than she’d like but she couldn’t disagree with them. She had to leave someday, but her parents (especially her father) hadn’t accepted that yet.
“Butters! Your mother and I are leaving! Don’t you dare be late to that reunion young man or you’re going to be grounded!”
The sound of her father snapped Marjorine from her thoughts and she responded immediately. “Okay, sir! I’m leaving in a few minutes!” There was no response from her father but Marjorine knew he had heard her. With a sigh of relief, she grabbed a few things and stuffed them into her bag. It wasn’t uncommon for her father to complain or ground her over small things, but she didn’t want to anger him. Not today at least. Especially with the way he addressed her, Marjorine didn’t want to give her father more of a reason to hate her. Slinging her bag over her shoulder, Marjorine moved over to the window and watched her father’s car pull away. As soon as it disappeared from view she left her room, grabbed an apple and rushed out.
It only took a few minutes to arrive at South Park High School, but it looked closed. There were no balloons, posters, or signs that welcomed her class back to the school. She didn’t see anyone else either. There were a few people Marjorine knew that would be outside a party but the area was oddly quiet. Taking small steps, Marjorine walked up to the door and gently knocked on it.
“Um.. hello? Anyone here? I was told to come here for the reunion?”
No answer came from the other side but the door slowly opened, revealing the dimly lit interior. At this point, Marjorine considered going home, but at the thought of her parents’ reaction, she decided to take her chances in the school. Clutching the strap of her bag, Marjorine stepped inside and looked around. It had seemed like no one was there, but as she got used to the dark, a figure seemed to appear next to her. Startled, Marjorine’s eyes widened and she started to scream for help, but before she was able to make any sound, the figure raised a pipe and swung, hitting her over the head and knocking her out. The door had been left open, but there was no one around to hear the impact or hear Marjorine’s limp body being dragged deeper into the school.
