How do you tell someone what they refuse to hear

Summary:

A poem about conflicting interests or telling people what's true and telling people what they'll actually listen to

Notes:

Like the rest of this series, this poem is very dark. I've left it at teen rating because that's when I was feeling the worst of it and I want to leave it out there for others suffering like I was. Depression knows no age but some of my depictions are darker. If mentions of self harm, suicide, depression, anxiety, or anything along that line of thinking triggers you, PLEASE DO NOT READ. I'm all for comments and kudos, but not at the cost of your safety. Your life is more important than some stupid poem on the internet

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

How do you tell somebody,

That where they can not see,

You're hurtin' yourself,

Makin' yourself bleed,

Purposefully?

How do you tell somebody,

That what they can not smell,

Is the scent of your blood

As you fight through your own private

Hell?

How do you tell somebody,

That when they can not hear,

You're crying alone

Soaking your pillow with your

Tears?

How do you tell somebody,

That what they can not feel,

Is breakin' you down

Crushin' you underneath it's

Heel?

How do you tell somebody,

That what they can not know,

Is you're fightin'

Unable to move on, unable to

Grow?

How do you tell somebody,

That while they're asleep,

You're plotting and planning

On where you can take that

Leap?

How do you tell somebody,

Not all self harm,

Are cuts up and down your arm?

Shouldnt random bleeding spots be cause for

Alarm?

How do you tell somebody,

When they want to live,

All you want is to die,

That you have nothing left to

Give?

Notes:

Thank you for reading! If you related to anything I said or something hit you particularly hard please let me know! I'm here to talk if needed and I know sometimes all you need is the stranger on the internet listening to you rant. Your comments and kudos give me such joy so thank you lovelies!
