Maverick and Tired Maverick seem to be two entire different persons. That’s the conclusion that Iceman comes to the first time he saw Maverick tired.
For once, the man wasn’t loud. Actually, he didn’t speak at all, and was craving for touch.
Now, Iceman is used to it, but when Maverick came straight for a hug, and only a hug, for the first time, the blond man was surprised.
Maverick always liked touching : he like to kiss, to wrap his arm around Goose’s or Iceman’s shoulders, and of course to have sex, but he never seemed to be the kind of guy who loved hugs.
Iceman was simply lying on their couch, watching television, when Maverick came in the room. Without saying any word, which had probably never happened, and without even answering to Iceman, he fell into his arms, moaning with satisfaction when their skin touched.
«You okay ?» Iceman asked, worried by Mav’s behavior.
«Mm... ‘M fine.»
«Yeah ? You’re never like that usually. You’re sick ? Need anything ?»
Thinking about it, Iceman realise that even if Maverick is not able to remember, this day was also the first time Iceman had really been worried about his partner. Or at least the first time he really showed it.
«No. Am just tired. Wanna sleep with you.»
«Oh, okay. Of course, c’me here.»
The satisfied look on Maverick’s face after he heard Iceman’s answer was everything for the other guy who couldn’t help a wide smile to grow on his face at the view of Maverick snuggling into his arms.
When Maverick woke up, he was a bit surprised to see where he was, but when he saw that Iceman didn’t make fun of him and simply let him, he decided to stay in the position, watching TV like a married couple would.
And if Iceman thought that this situation was rare and would maybe never happen again, well he was goddamn wrong, because it only made their relationship stronger, and the most they became closer, the more often these things happened.
Now, they almost have every week a «Tired Mav session» like Iceman calls it, where Maverick comes at a random moment just to fall asleep in his husband’s arms.
