Maverick was fond of cheek kiss.
Iceman never understood why or how this man, who loved sex so much, could be into such a cute and platonic affectionate thing.
He realized it after a few days living together. At first, it was only when they woke up : Maverick gave him a little kiss on the cheek instead of the lips and Iceman thought it was weird.
Then, came the before going to bed kiss. No matter what they did before sleeping, Maverick would always kiss him after. Sex, talk, reading. Everything would end up with a small cheek kiss.
And finally, there were all of the small kisses Maverick gave him every time they saw each other in the house.
There weren’t any moment where he would see Mav without having a little cheek kiss.
And if he first found it weird, he quickly got used to it. So quickly that, soon, he loved it. It became little moments that he waited for, and each kiss let him grinning for the rest of the day.
It was now an habit, something that Iceman was used to live with, so the day he didn’t get his little kiss, he frowned, stopping his conversation with Maverick to say :
“You didn’t kiss me.”
Maverick looked at him, confused, and Iceman repeated, pointing a finger at one of his cheeks.
“You didn’t kiss me.”
Mav bursted out laughing before going to his lover, kissing his cheeks over and over.
“I didn’t know you liked my kisses !” He then said, happy.
“I’m just used to it.”
“You’re lying. But it’s okay, let’s say it’s only because you’re used to it.”
Then Mav kissed Iceman’s cheek again. After that, the pilot left the room, still laughing.
And maybe Iceman should be embarrassed but, at the moment, he was only satisfied. Because he had his kisses.
