Today was the day. It was THE day. He’d been waiting for this day for 25 years, 4 months, and 19 days EXACTLY. Of course the only reason he knew he’d been waiting that long is because Iceman had calculated this day not even a week earlier.
25 years. 25 YEARS he’d been waiting for this day. Iceman always called him a sap for being so impressed that they were still together 25 years later.

Sometimes it hurt to think. That it had taken so long for them to finally, finally get to do this. That his forehead lines had become such a permanent fixture on his face, that his class ring was older than he had been when he joined TOPGUN.

“You really want to get married the day after your birthday?” Iceman had asked.
“Of course. What gift could be better than you? What better gift is there than for you to be mine?”

From the moment they met, Mav knew Kazansky had a mouth on him. It isn't until they're both instructors at TOPGUN, though, that Mav learns just how brutal Ice can be.
One thing's for sure: Maverick's never bored, teaching alongside Iceman. He's just not sure he's going to survive the job unscathed, himself.

What if all of those stolen glances and sexually-charged staring contests actually amounted to something? Iceman may be straight-edge in the air, but on the ground he knows that sometimes you have to take a risk to get what you want. And sometimes what you want is a beautiful bastard who haunts your every waking moment until he finally kisses you and turns your world upside down.
Or, the plot of Top Gun (1986) but I honor Val Kilmer's memory by making it gayer (and Goose lives because I said so.)
