“Hooty, please stay still,” Luz says as Hooty wriggles to avoid the sponge in her hand. She doesn’t want to do this, but she’d much rather he stays still and lets her get this disgusting task over with.
“But the water’s too cold,” Hooty whines, contorting his body enough to dodge her attempts at scrubbing him clean. He lays as a long, mud-covered tube on the ground outside the Owl House, and seems determined to make this task as difficult as possible. “Can’t you at least use warm water, hoot hoot?”
Luz sighs. “I’m already doing you a favor here. Just let me do this, please.”
But as Luz lunges at him again, he dodges her effortlessly, letting out a shrill giggle as she chases him around the yard. Something tells her this will be a long, long evening.
