Lucy was on patrol with Aaron. Aaron could tell Tim has changed Lucy for the better. Tim was on a case with Metro and needed to be with them.
“7-Adam-19 you are needed at the Shaw Memorial Hospital” dispatch called.
“10-4 but can we know why” Aaron asked as Lucy drives.
“Yeah, metro was on a raid, and it went south so we need you guys to get notes and stuff” dispatch said.
Lucy looked nervous that Tim could’ve been hurt.
“7-Adam-19 responding” Aaron said.
The two get to the hospital and see Pine and a couple of other guys from metro.
“What happened” Aaron asked.
“Well, we were going in for the hostage and they caught on and they captured one of are guys. He got out and then as he was trying to escape, he got shot at twice. Once in the leg and once in the side. So, he is in surgery” Miller said.
“Who was it” Lucy asked.
“Bradford” Pine said.
Lucy looked shocked. No wonder why they wanted her to respond. Lucy saw the bag that contained his stuff.
“I’ll take this back to the station and tell Grey and come back” Lucy said as she takes the bag.
The metro group nodded as Lucy and Aaron leave.
“Well, that makes sense now that they wanted us” Lucy said as she drives back.
“You and Tim are close aren’t you” Aaron asked.
“Yeah, and the hospital is a place that brought us closer together” Lucy said as they get back to the station.
‘How is the hospital a place that brought you together” Aaron asked.
“My first day as a rookie Tim was shot and I had to save his life. Then same time he had a seizure due to having an allergic reaction to a shot. Then I was there for him when Ashley broke up with him. That and the parking garage” Lucy said.
“Hey where is Bradford. I thought he’d be here” Angela said.
“Tim has been shot” Aaron said.
“Where” Grey said.
“Leg and side” Lucy said as she came out of the locker room.
“Lucy take Tim’s stuff and head out you and Thorson” Grey said.
“Yes sir” the two said.
They change and head to the hospital. Lucy gets there first and grabs some flowers.
“Chen someone is awake and wants to see you” Pine said.
Lucy pops her head in the door and sees Tim awake. She notices he is on oxygen and has a cast on his leg.
“Hey glad you’re alright” Lucy said sitting down.
“Yeah, turns out the nurses around here are sick and tired of me getting hurt” Tim said groggy.
“Tim but realize this we had some moments in here. When you first got shot on my watch, I was scared to lose you. Now I realize this place is important to us” Lucy said holding his hand.
“How” Tim asked sitting up carefully.
“This place is the one place I am not afraid that I will lose you” Lucy said softly.
“Chen It is going to take more that stupid criminals to take me out” Tim said before letting out a big yawn.
‘Get some sleep. Aaron is here and I need to fill him and the rest of metro that’s in the waiting room. I’m also going to facetime Grey to tell him what’s going on. “Lucy said.
Tim nods and kisses her before falling into a deep sleep. Lucy goes to leave but sees the doctor.
“Hi, I am Dr. Michaels I am one of the doctors here and I wanted to let you know that Tim will be released tomorrow with a prescription of high dose painkillers that might make him a tad loopy. We will give him one before he leaves tomorrow. He will be on crutches for 3-4 weeks. Other than that, you guys got any questions. Don’t be afraid to ask.” The doctor said.
“No” Lucy said.
The doctor leaves and Lucy follows her out and sees everyone in the waiting room.
“So long story short. He is getting released tomorrow with a pretty high dose pain medication that might make him tad bit loop. He will be on crutches for the next 3-4 weeks, but I think the station can keep him company” Lucy said smiling.
“Good now let’s go raid the cafeteria I am starving” Pine said as everyone follows her.
The next morning Lucy and Aaron head to the hospital to pick up Tim. Lucy saw Tim already dressed and finishing up his breakfast and medications and acting goofy.
“Timothy, are you causing a ruckus in here” Lucy said as she comes in.
“No” Tim said giggling.
“Lucy is everything ok” Aaron asked as her comes in
“Yeah, Tim is being goofy” Lucy said ruffling Tim’s hair.
Tim finished eating and drinking his juice. Lucy and Aaron get everything situated. Tim lets the doctor unhook his iv and giggled.
“Your cute” Tim said giggling.
“Ok that’s the meds talking” Lucy said as Aaron giggled.
“Ok Bradford, you’re free to go. Here are your discharge papers. Also is attached is your medication list. Crutches, you guys got any questions” The doctor said.
Everyone shakes their head. Tim gets up and gets to the wheelchair. Lucy pushes Tim down to the parking garage.
“Lucy, will you marry me” Tim asked.
“Pick a date and time and I will” Lucy said as they get to Aaron’s car.
Lucy and Aaron help Tim into the backseat. Tim just kept rambling on. Aaron gave Lucy a look like what the hell is he on type of look.
“So is that a yes” Tim said happy.
“Yes, now sleep will you Bradford. We got a long way back to your place and I don’t need you yakking my ear off with your drug induced crazy” Lucy said.
“Ok” Tim said as they leave the garage.
Lucy now knows the reason the parking garage holds an important part of them, and the hospital does to.
