Chapter 1: Drowning in a sea of emotions.

Chapter Text

The sound of water used to be comforting. Quackity used to enjoy playing by the water when he was a little kid, splashing and swimming was always a summertime tradition. One he had carried on into adulthood, watching from the sidelines this time as his own kid splashed around in the water, Tilín’s giggles sounding off of every tree as he played with Juanaflippa running up and down the creek.
Her giggles weren’t there anymore, the sound of splashing accompanied by his harsh breathing as he fought to stay above water. He wasn’t sure how long he had been here for. His eternal clock is ruined by the struggle to stay awake. Occasionally, he would drift off to sleep, his eyes closing and his body starting to drift. All it took was his head sinking under the water again and he was awake.
He pressed against the floor above him, hoping praying it would budge. He came in here wanting his kid back, but right now he just wanted to go home. He wanted to be there when Wilbur came back, and wanted to watch the happy look on Tallulah's face. God tallulah. Quackity hopes she's alright. Why couldn't he just have stayed when she gave him that book. Why couldn't he have been happy with her, why couldn't he have just stayed and waited till Wilbur came back.
Cellbit, his mind supplied. Quackity grimaced at the thought, even though he knew it was true. Because when the Brazilians arrived, when Cellbit arrived, he wasn't so alone anymore. Because even for a brief moment they laughed and trusted him, and listened when he talked, and taught him things. Because cellbit had stood up for him, against Badboyhalo. Cellbit didn't believe the others when they called him a bad parent.
Because Cellbit gave him a second chance. He gave Quackity the opportunity to be Richarlysons father. At first Quackity didn't believe it, couldn't believe that someone would trust him with his kid. Maybe the translation messed up. But it was true. Sure 1% isn't a lot but it was enough.
It was enough because just seeing the little Brazilian egg look up and him and smile at Quackity made his heart swell. Being called Pa again made his heart swell. With Tallulah it was hard for Quackity not to think about Tilín, about what he lost. About how Tilín should have gotten all the love and affection Wilbur gave his daughter. As much as he loved tallulah it was hard to to feel bitter.
But with Richarlyson that bitter feeling didn't come. Maybe it was because he didn't spend as much time with Richarlyson, or maybe it was because he didn't hold the same sad resentment for the kids' other parents. He loved that kid. He could acknowledge he wasn't the best parent for Richarlyson. He gave Cellbit his parental rights back because he thought he wasn't good enough. But Richarlyson still loved him like a dad, and god did Quackity love him.
Quackity slammed against the floor, his knuckles only becoming more bruised as he cursed out Cucurucho, uncaring if it was actually there. Maybe someone else would come. Surely someone else would come. Sure half the island didn't really like him and probably was not concerned on if he was missing or not but they would come, right? Cellbit is probably looking His mind supplied, Quackity nodding in agreement. Cellbit knew where this place was, he was the one that led Quackity here. He would come. He had too, they were friends. A team. He would come.
He's married now though. Quackity had to remember that. Cellbit was married to Roier, despite.. everything. He probably forgot all about him. Probably still resented Quackity for how he almost ruined it. But it's not like Quackity wanted it to happen! Sure, a selfish part of him was overjoyed when Roier called off the wedding. But he tried to help fix it once he saw how hurt Cellbit was. He even offered to marry Cellbit at Festa Junina to show to Roier how much he cared, (Not because he was silently hoping Cellbit would see that there was another option. Not because he wanted to see what it would be like if it was true.)! It wasn't his fault it didn't work. Then again, what happened after was his fault. Cellbit was probably pissed about how he blew up the wedding venue.
God why did he have to do that. Quackity pressed his forehead against the quartz, whining quietly despite how it irritated his throat. He was so reckless. So emotionally impulsive. No fuckin wonder no one stayed long enough to be by his side. No wonder why no one wanted him around.
Cellbit did. Remember, he said he needed you, his brain once again chimed in. Quackity
Just took in a breath before letting himself sink into the water. Cellbit did say he needed Quackity, and Quackity went and did what he asked. It was a real shame, how despite Quackity needing him back, Cellbit didn't help him

Cellbit sighed running his hand through his hair as he glanced over his notes again. Nothing. Quackity had been gone for months and still, nothing. Cellbit was beginning to think he wasn't even alive anymore, maybe the federation killed him and used his body to create whatever the fuck El Quackity is. His fist curled around hai hair at the thought. He shouldn't think like that, Quackity was alive. He had to be, and if he wasn't then Cellbit was going to find that fuckin imposter and-
"Gatinho?" Roier called learning against the doorframe, a concerned expression on his face. Cellbit checked the time before smiling sheepishly past his husband, 1'o clock in the morning the clock read.
"You said you would be home early for once." Roier sighed crossed the room to stand behind him. Cellbit leaned back to lay his head on the other.
"I know, lo siento, it's just-"
"Quackity?" Roier asked not even needing to glance at the papers. Cellbit nodded with another sigh. He had told his husband about it the second he started looking. Knowing that despite it all Roier also cared about the other. Roier had smiled, comforting Cellbit and promising to help. But even Roier couldn't take away all of his worries as he increasingly grew more scared for Quackity's safety. The federation was evil and cruel. Whatever they were doing to the other couldn't be good.
"Calma Cellbit, we will find him soon." Roier soothed. Cellbit had the urge to argue, to voice his worries, but instead he nodded. It was late, it was better to just believe his husband, no matter what his doubts were telling him.
"And then we can talk about you and him." Roier said as he pulled cellbit up, a teasing tone lacing his voice. Cellbit tilted his head at Roier confused.
"Me and Quackity?" Cellbit said following behind his husband as they walked towards the waypoint. Roier laughed, the noise a gentle melody to Cellbits ears.
"Nothing nothing, no worries! If you haven't figured it out yet I will not say" Roier giggled as he pressed his hand against the waypoint scrolling down to the castle "pero solo sé que tus sentimientos son obvios mi amor, y no estoy enojado" he said before teleporting. Cellbit paused taking in his husband's words before quickly teleporting and chasing after the other.
"QUE!?!?" He shouted watching as Roier only briefly turned to laugh before waking at his insistently.
"Hurry! ¡Vamanos pendejos! ¡Quiero dormir!" Cellbit laughed, at the instant calls of his husband's before chasing after him. He would try and decipher his husband's words later. For now, sleep. And then tomorrow, he would find Quackity. No matter what.

Chapter 2: Missing you, and explosions.

Summary:

Cellbit continues the search for Quackity, in the process he stumbles upon something new.
On top of that, Roier struggles to comfort his Husband while dealing with his own doubts.
Quackity is still having a bad time.

Chapter Text

The quartz of the federation office gleamed with pristine shine as Cellbit and Fit landed in it. His skin crawled with memories as they walked through it. Cellbit was glad Fit was here, the other had brought up the idea reminding Cellbit of the place, while he was excited to go at first Cellbits confidence was waning as he showed the taller around the place. Every noise, every clicking of the clock seemed to heighten his paranoia. By the time they opened the door to Cucuruchos office Cellbit had to pause to compose himself before entering. He fucking hated this place.
“You alright man?” Fit asked, sliding next to him with concern. Cellbit just nodded as he explained the office to Fit, making his way down the stairs again, trying to stop himself from constantly glancing back to see if Cucurucho was there.
“Ok this is like, it's kinda uh triggering coming here again, because this is kinda traumatizing-”Cellbit stopped, peering into the code door in shock.
"Oh shit, this is new" he said, turning back towards fit. He stepped back allowing the other to peer through the door, glancing back towards it "this used to be where they kept felps- why would they change it???" Cellbit murmured, taking the spot by the door again to take a picture.
"Here, wait let me try something," Fit said, pulling out a code breaker and fiddling with the door. Cellbit watched with bated breath, rushing in immediately when the door clicked open. He glanced around the room, wide eyed as he took in all the details. It was still pristine, just like every other federation room. But this one, something about it made his stomach churn. Peering down at the floor he almost thought he felt something underneath it. He brushed it off, snapping his attention towards Fit again, Cellbit was probably just being paranoid.

When quackity woke up again, it wasn't to the ugly feeling of drowning. It was to voices, distant at first but steadily coming closer. He couldn't distinguish them at first, the water and general drowsiness flooding his ears with nothing but white noise. He almost brushed it off, assuming it was cucurucho, or maybe whatever thing the federation made to sound like him. But he heard footsteps descending down the stairs, too heavy to be Cucurucho, the fuckin bear made it a point to walk quietly to scare people, and from what he remembered the imposter walked a lot slower then what the footsteps suggested.
"Oh shit, this is new" quackity startled at the voice pressing his cheek against the quartz floor. Cellbit his brain seemed to repeat like a prayer. They had come. He wasn't abandoned. Finally cellbit was here to save him. It sounded like he brought Fit to which means the others were close by. Quackity could have cried at the thought. "Finally," he murmured his hands against the floor. Finally he can go home.
Except… neither of them were looking at the floor. He heard the shuttering of a camera, the two discussing the different purposes of the room. He let out a sob, desperately trying to shout, his vocal cords raw and ruined stopping him from being loud. His brain screamed -No, no I'm down here! Please, you're wrong, the room isn't for meetings, it's a trap please. Please Cellbit- Quackity started pounding on the flooring as he heard the two begin to descend up the stairs again. His voice raw as his tears added to the water surrounding him.

Cellbit couldn't stop thinking about that office. It was odd for the federation to turn that room into what looked like a meeting space. Didn't they already have one? If Cucurucho wasn't there he could have investigated it more, but alas, that fuckin bear caught them. He frowned, glancing at his board, eyes landing on a picture of him and quackity. It was one of the earlier days on the island. From when he was messing with mines with the duck hybrid. Cellbit stood up gently holding the picture. He missed those days. When the two of them would laugh to the point of tears, shouting out every insult known to man through their giggles. When he wasn't concerned with joining the federation, and when quackity didn't seem so stressed and angry. Cellbit missed that, he missed Quackity.

"Mi amor? Are you ready?" Roier called Richarlyson on his hip. Cellbit blinked, quickly turning to face them. Oh right, they were gonna go to the movies today. Cellbit nodded quickly striding over to the two.
"Sim, vamos" cellbit said reaching to carry Richas instead. Roier paused, reaching up and gently brushing Cellbit's cheek. Cellbit rubbed at the other confused only to find it slightly damp.
"Ah" Cellbit murmured, grabbing a tissue to wipe the rest of his tears off. He didn't know when he had started crying. If anything he was a bit embarrassed he got caught.
"Gatinho" Roier grabbed his face again, pressing a kiss to Cellbit's forehead. "We will find him Mi amor. Te prometo." Richarlyson tugged on his sleeve, holding up his sketchpad.
*Pa quack will be OK dad! We found pa felps, We will find him!* Cellbit smiled, kissing the top of his son's head.
"Sim, obrigado Richas" Cellbit smiled walking out the door, letting Richarlyson ramble about how excited he was for the movies. Roier smiled as they left, glancing back at the board his husband was working on. He frowned glancing at the mockup missing poster cellbit must have just made.
"Quackity…. ¿Dónde podrías estar?" He murmured before quickly turning to catch up to his family.

The movies were fun, Roier was glad he got to spend time with his family. Sitting and watching his father's face turn into a lovey dovey smile anytime his papa appeared on screen was hilarious. Sure he did the same thing whenever Cellbit showed up but atleast he and Cellbit were married. He was glad the kids enjoyed it, his little sister and Richarlyson were both bouncing in their seats, tugging on sleeves and giggling whenever they showed up on screen. It was a nice break, one that he could tell Cellbit needed. He was happy to watch his husband laugh so much.
Then that fuckin imposter showed up. Roier still enjoyed himself sure, he wasn't going to let anyone ruin his night, but he was lying if he said he didn't want to punch the dude in the stomach. It was so infuriating, watching him smile and giggle. Watching him pretend to be Quackity, the group's dear friend, his amigo. None of them believed it to be true, El Quackity sucked at his job in that way, saying the wrong answers, not caring about people the same way Quackity did. The federation failed to prepare him for his job, which Roier supposes wasn't entirely El Quackitys fault but still. Roier clocked it as soon as the dude talked to Cellbit. Harsh and demeaning, snarky insults flying out in any language he knew.
Their Quackity was rude sometimes, and yeah he liked being a little shit, but he would never seriously try and hurt Cellbit like that. Roier knew that for a fact, he saw how worried Quackity was in Cellbits absence, he saw how Quackity immediately caved and tried to fix the relationship between the two when Cellbit murdered his grandfather (not really thankfully but still,). He saw how Quackity looked at Cellbit when he thought no one was looking. The same soft stare Roier often saw himself giving to his husband. The same look he caught his friend giving to Wilbur back when they first got on this island, the months feeling like years ago now.
All of this is mind, Roier knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that El Quackity wasn't his friend. So he didn't really feel bad watching him blow up along with the rest of Maximus's movie set. No, instead he felt joy as he swam away with his husband, laughter ringing along with the explosion after math. It's what the bastard deserves after all. He took Quackity away from them.
The order meeting after was less exciting. He was never one for theories, never really understood most of the mysteries and clues that would pour out of his Husband's mouth. Not to say he didn't try to understand, he just got bored with some of the more serious topics. So he spent most of the meeting messing around with his dad, he deserved it, everyone else celebrated El Quackitys death by cheering and creating theories, he celebrated by messing around with his Familia.
But his head snapped to attention when Cellbit mentioned quackity. He noted the cheerful tone, one his husband often used to hide his emotions. Cellbit was infuriating in that way, he didn't want to show fear so easily. Roier frowned slightly as he down played his attachment to Quackity, but his husband needed to feel at ease, he didn't need to be reminded about how worried he was. So Roier smiled, and laughed alongside him, wrapping their hands together. In their bed that night, Roier would thoroughly comfort his love, reassuring him that the duck hybrid would be home soon. But in the moment he would laugh, ignoring the pain with the rest of the island.
Because in morning, Roier would bring back his friend. No matter what happens, Roier would not lose another member of his family.

Notes:

So uh, originally i was not gonna post this till later and was gonna like check if my small twitter following was active. Then I woke up and found my twitter got suspended for some reason LOL. Honestly while i did submit an appeal I will not be that mad if it gets declined because it is turning into a hell site.
But also now I don't have anywhere to scream about QSMP too so we will see how that goes lol.
Besides that though, Im glad you guys enjoyed the first chapter, honestly did not think people would actually like it but here we are! Im hopping to do updates every couple of days, if not that then atleast once a week :D

Chapter 3: Waiting with open arms

Summary:

Roier Centric Chapter, the man misses his friend and family.

Chapter Text

When they first got on the island Roier had a big family. Spending time with the others, laughing till the morning came. Atleast, until his whole fiasco with his taco shop. Roier grimaced, He remembered how much it hurt, how lost he felt then.
But he moved on, the eggs were a perfect opportunity to get a different family, arguably a better one. Bobby was his pride, his joy. His rambunctious bundle of joy that loved guns and getting into trouble. Jaiden was so funny, fitting with Roier in a way no one else could. His platonic soulmate, his best friend. Others would come and go from his family. He mourned over Tilín like the rest of the island, knew Juanaflippas death meant Mariana would leave him too, and he missed Wilbur as much as the rest of the island. But in the end it didn't matter. He had his family as long as Bobby and Jaiden were there, that was enough.
Then Bobby died. It was his fault. He knew he was having problems functioning that day, knew the thing the other islanders called the lag monster was hurting both him and his son. He knew how dangerous that dungeon was. Roier didn't listen. Didn't think properly. It was his fault. He remembers how it felt, hearing the chime of the downed message. The scramble to try and get to his son quick enough. The pleading.
The drowning feeling of despair when he wasn't quick enough.
He remembers how he sobbed into Cellbit. How when Jaiden came he could only sob louder as he told his partner what happened. As he watched her face morph into pure grief. How he hated himself for making his best friend hurt so badly, how he hated himself for letting his son die.
The 5 minutes he got were bittersweet. He couldn't find himself to be happy. He was surrounded by people, sure, everyone was there to comfort him. But he didn't want comfort. He wanted his kid back. Wanted his son. His baby boy. He wanted Jaiden to not look so sad. To not run away in her grief. He wanted his family.
He remembers how it felt when Cellbit left. Days after. Remembers how the news made him want to throw himself off the statue. How he wanted to curse out everyone and everything. How he wanted to go and punch Quackity is his stupid face because he shouldn't have done something. He knew the other was watching Cellbit as much as he was. Knew the other was helping him, as much as Roier was. He probably knew more about the federation than Roier did. So why the hell didn't he save Cellbit, (It wasn't till Roier went to track him down, a day or two into Cellbits disappearance that he understood. The duck hybrid curled onto his bed clutching a long dead poppy. Hands shaking as he was unresponsive. If Roier had cooked him a meal and adjusted his pillows, that was between them. If the two had quietly cried over their shared crush that was between them. If that was the time Roier started to trust Quackity again that would stay between him and god).
Roier had a family now. Vegetta had seen the sorry state of the younger and adopted him. At first Roier was put off by it, thinking it was nothing more than pity. Thinking it wouldn't last. But then Foolish brought him into a tight hug the next day, accepting the boy into his life like it was normal for his husband to randomly adopt kids. He remembers that day so well. Vegetta had insisted on doing all the tasks for him too, leading his family around the family. Despite Leo's slight jealousy his little sister had held his hand, cuddling against him and giving him a bright smile that reminded me so much like Bobby. That moment in Sofia's room. He watched his family nuzzle faces like it was some inside joke. He smiled fondly, happy despite the jealousy lingering in his chest.
But Vegetta turned slightly, and instantly beckoned the other over, and when Roier followed the instruction with nervous steps Foolish had smiled before tugging him closer, his family going back to the motion, forcing Roier to follow in their steps. He remembers the way he laughed. The familiar joy of having a family returning in his chest. It only got better when Cellbit came back to him a few days later, proposing to him almost immediately.
The day when he and Cellbit fought, he remembers how mad he felt. How hurt he was. How he wanted nothing more then to run away from everything. To go find his new parents and throw himself into their arms and never come out. To find Jaiden and use every Curse he knew to describe Cellbit to her. Quackity didn’t let him though. Quackity kept pushing, trying to make whatever they had work. At first Roier thought he was stupid, he knew that Quackity liked Cellbit, probably more then Quackity did. This was the perfect opportunity to steal him from Roier. But Quackity never did. Even at Festa Junina Quackity kept prompting him, begging him to take Cellbit from him. Trying his best to fix whatever they had. In a way he did, Roier and Cellbit made up, although the importance of Quackity in that decision was debatable.
It didn’t really matter if Quackity helped in that or not though. A simple action like that proved that he still cared about Roier. Proved that he loved Cellbit as a person more than he needed the romantic aspect of life. Roier couldn’t even bring himself to be that mad at the duck hybrid after the wedding. While it wasn’t confirmed most people thought it was Quackity that blew up their venue. If it was, well Roier knew he didn’t do it just to hurt them. He did it because he was reckless, and an idiot not because he was cruel. He liked that about Quackity. He was the biggest pendejo on the server, but he wasn’t cruel for the purpose of being cruel.
Fate was. Roier thought as he poked around Quackity's house at the favela. Cobwebs starting to bunch at the corners. He frowned, brushing them aside allowing any small spider to crawl into his hand so he can gently set them down outside. Most of the plants here were wilted. No one had bothered to come in here and take care of them while the owner had been away. Guilt settled in his heart at the thought. No one had really came here at all since Quackity was gone. Despite everyone on the Island knowing he was missing none of them went through the effort to take care of his things. Cellbit had been investigating his disappearance, Roier knew for a fact how many hours his Husband had mused into finding their little Patito. From what he heard Phil had also spent some of his free time looking for the younger avian. But, no one had spent the time to take care of the things he built, bask in his memories.
When Cellbit was gone everyone had spent so much time reassuring each other that he would be back, sharing memories and looking forward to new ones with the detective. Foolish had still put hours into the castle, hoping to present it to the younger when he returned, his friends still kept up the order and his projects. Felps didn’t have as many builds on the server at the time but the Favela residents insured he was missed, keeping care of the things their missing member had left behind, creating new things to show him when he returned. Telling their kid of all the good times he would have with his Papa Felps when they came back.
None of them did that with Quackity. This place was abandoned, a sick stain that clawed at Roiers heart. He knew that Quackity was alone, but he never realized how badly it had gotten. Roier loved the man, sure, but he still was cautious, still too hurt by every word the man said to fix it, even if he did know he didn’t mean all of them. But he always assumed someone was by his side. Wilbur or Charlie were his friends, he should have had someone to care about him. But Wilbur wasn’t here. He hasn’t been for a while, and Roier wasn’t even sure if Charlie was told about his disappearance. Did Quackity really have anyone besides that? Tilin wasn’t here anymore, and his grief made Quackity push everyone else away.
Roier paused, hearing footsteps behind him. He turned, heart racing as he braced himself to see that stupid bear face in front of him. Except, Cucurucho wasn’t there. Roier paused glancing around quickly before his eyes zero’d in on the entrance, two pairs of dragon tails sticking out of it. Roier’s faced softened as he slowly walked over to the entrance, poking his head out to find Richarlyson and Tallulah hiding by the wall.
“Hola! What are you guys doing here?” Roier smiled as he kneeled down to get to eye level with the two kids watching as they both glanced at each other before scribbling frantically.
*we saw you coming to Visit Tios Smile's house and wanted to make sure you didn't touch anything* Tallulah flipped her note pad around at the same times Richarlyson shoved a frantic.
*nothing Dad just wanted to hang out with you! So boring some days you know kkkkk*
Roier laughed "Richarlyson!?! Lying to your Papa like that. No no no, shameful behavior Pendejo, be more like tallulah" Roier teased bringing in his son closer so he could tickle him. Watching as both kids let out giggles.
"As for the actual reason you're here. No worries. No worries. solo estaba de visita, pero si quieres puedes ayudarme a limpiar el lugar." Roier said, watching as tallulah nodded excitedly bounding into the neighborhood to go help some of the plants. Roier expected Richarlyson to run in behind her but instead, they lingered slightly, hands digging into Roier's sleeve.
"Richarlyson? ¿Qué pasa mijo?" Roier pulled the child up, letting Richas press into his chest as they wrote.
*I miss Pa Quackity. I don't wanna remember that he isn't here. It's not fair Dada why do they always have to take away my family. I want him to be here. I want to go on an adventure and watch the Mariposas with him. I want to dress up as a Patito with him. I want to laugh as he and Pa Cellbit blow each other up again. I don't wanna walk in his house and find it empty*
Roier felt his heart shatter, quickly pressing a kiss to Richarlysons forehead. "You'll be able to do all those things soon Mijo I promise. We'll get him back. I understand if its hard to be here but wouldn't it be nice to leave a surprise for your Papa for when he comes back?" Roier smiled seeing as his son nodded after a few minutes of consideration, running to help tallulah after Roier set him down. He got to work too, scrubbing at the walls to clean any stains, moving items from chest to chest to get an organization going. He let tallulah handle the plants, the little girl overjoyed to be able to make the place look pretty for Quackity's returned. After he found some old paint cans he let Richarlyson get to work on fixing the walls.
After a couple hours of cleaning Roier was impressed by how much work the kids had gotten done, turning to find the area looking more alive then it ever did. He paused however, looking at what they currently were working on.
A mural of Quackity and Tilín. The two were painted sitting in a field of purple flowers the sun setting behind them. Roier felt tears blink in his eyes as he watched Richarlyson carefully look back at an old photo of Tilín, before adding another stroke of paint determined to get their dead sister right. Tallulah, adding details onto Quackity that made the man seem so bright that even the sun couldn't compare. This mural was a testament to how much the two loved their dad, even if he wasn't technically their dad. He smiled walking closer to the two and sitting down.
"You never got to meet Tilín did you?" He asked watching as both eggs paused their work before nodding, turning to him with sad expressions on their face.
"He would have loved you both" Roier smiled ruffling both their hair before beginning to tell story after story to the two. About Tilín, about Quackity, any happy moment he could think of he told them, watching as the two kids attentively listened, growing more attached the Duck with every story Roier told. They would get Quackity back, if not for Cellbit and himself, then for these kids.

When Quackity woke up he wasn't drowning anymore. He was certainly still wet, hair sticking to his face, body shivering intently. He groaned, sitting up to find himself in a dimly lit quartz room, the bed underneath him quickly seeping up all the water that dropped onto it. He rubbed his eyes adjusting from the darkness he was used to. He blinked, staring straight ahead. His eyes meeting an exact replica of himself. He flinched waiting for it to do something. For a moment it didn't, and then it sighed and started to speak.

Chapter 4: Redemption??

Summary:

Quackity finally meets his lookalike, who promises both him and the Guapoduo Family something they aren't quite sure he can provide.

Notes:

I am so terribly sorry about how long this one took (especially with how short it is) Been struggling to multi-task alot of things with back to school stuff coming up and other projects plus i've been super invested in the lore and trying to keep up with it all.
But to make up for it their will probably be a couple extra chapters then originally intended, plus you will actually get Chaosduo interactions soon lol!

Chapter Text

The man in front of him sighed, glancing at Quackity's less than ideal state before rolling his eyes tossing him a towel.
"Hurry up and stop dripping all over my sheets. And cough up whatever shit is still in your lungs. If you have a coughing fit halfway through my interrogation I will be pissed." El Quackity, at least that's what Quackity thought his name was, he was too tired to remember what the islanders said about his imposter that showed up so many months ago, and didn't seem particularly angry at any of Quackity's unintentional actions. He just looked tired. Which was some bullshit. He didn't spend months fighting not to drown In a cramped space under the floorboards.
"What the fuck do you want" Quackity hissed, wings fluffing up to the best of his ability to look intimidating. The lookalike simply rolled his eyes gesturing to him as if that explained anything. When Quackity met his gaze with simply a confused glare the other duck huffed wings flapping exasperated. His wings weren’t damaged, Quackity noted quietly, not clipped or frayed. Jealousy curled in his gut at the thought.
“I want answers” El Quackity snapped, wings returning back to their position behind his back, the federation employee seemingly remembering the fact that most weren't allowed such luxuries like wings. Not here at least.
"About?" Quackity prompted, not wanting to comply but also longing to get this over with so he can be home. Giving the imposter answers about something wouldn't be so bad. If it got him back to his bed.
"Your… relationship with Cellbit, explain it." El Quackity prompted. And god wasn't that a whole can of worms in itself.
"He's my friend… I think?" Quackity murmured after a few moments.
"You think? I didn't realize it was that complicated of a question pendejo."
"I dont fucking-, listen man it's complicated ok. I like him and I think once upon a time he at least trusted me but also I blew up his wedding venue soo" Quackity waved his hands around as he rambled, unable to hide the anxiety in his gut at the mention of Cellbit. Because fuck did he miss the man. Even if Cellbit hated him he really wished the theorist would allow Quackity to have a hug when he came back. He needed some comfort from someone he cared about. Maybe if he was lucky Wilbur would be back too, or Roier would be happy enough to let him.
"... why… why do all the residents stick together? Even when they are mad. At each other." The other murmured after a while. Quackity tilted his head, confused at the question.
"Common enemy I guess? I don't know man. They just do, for the most part."
"For the most part?" El Quackity tilted his head.
"No one helped me with Tilín. I- no one stayed and comforted me about Tilín… except Wilbur. Wilbur did. Cellbit used to as well but I- he has a family now. That doesn’t… doesn't include me"
The room was silent for a while. Quackity assumed the other got bored, or simply didn't understand his question.
"Roier… Roier is nice. Out of the residents he's the one I care about the most. I forgot about that.. but we were building the other day, and i.. I remembered he's my friend. I dont… I dont think I care about him the way you do. I don't think I'm capable of caring about him the way you care about Wilbur or Cellbit or whatever. But I do care. Él es mi amigo. Pero… I need to do my job. The federation wants me to run for president. So I will. But after I'm done.. then there's no reason for me to keep something he cares about so much from him." Quackity blinked, processing the others words before his eyes widened. He could.leave. when the elections are over he could leave. He could go home, actually go home.
"And- maybe… depending on the results I can get you what you want. As an apology… maybe" El Quackity said walking out the door. "But for now, stay here. Stay quiet, I'll bring food in the morning. Sleep for now"
And for once, Quackity listened.

Cellbit will admit he got side tracked. The island was full of mysteries. Finding answers to them just itched his brain in a way nothing else could. He didn't mean to get off track. And besides, what if one of these led him to Quackity! That was still his main goal! He just, kinda ran out of other leads to keep the investigation going.
Atleast, that was the case until El Quackity walked into his castle one day. The duck hybrid hadn't said a word to him about showing up, or even asking where he was. He had just paused when he took in the sight of Roier, Richarlyson and Cellbit playing before he had waved, smiling at Roier. For a moment Cellbit thought his husband had invited the candidate over, but one glance at his husband's confused face confirmed that wasn't the case.
"Quackity? ¿Qué pasa?" Roier said, walking away from Cellbit to intersect the other at the bridge. Cellbit held his hand on his sword momentarily. Glaring at the other. The imposter had seemingly gotten closer to Roier after his death, but if he genuinely thought the two were friends, or if he tried anything Cellbit would have to put him in his place.
"Nada, nada. Yo quiero que te quedes conmigo. " El Quackity said with a tighter smile. Cellbit noted how he glanced around almost worried something would be here. Did he think Cellbit had another trap here?
Roier made a continue motion with his hand. Leaning into the other’s space. El Quackity let out a breath before letting out a quiet whisper.
"¿Aún quieres recuperar a Quackity?" Roier froze at the others words before latching at his arms nodding insistently.
"Si! Si- yes of course I do. ¿Dónde está?" Roier felt his hands shaking as El Quackity stayed silent. The other biting his lip, wincing with a pained expression on his face. Roier wasn't sure if he was playing stupid or what but he was sick of it.
"¿Dónde está? ¡Contéstame tonto! ¿ Dónde está?"
"no lo puedo decir! pero- después de las elecciones. prometo que si lo quieres lo tendrás." El quackity said backing up his hands raised. Cellbit glared standing up with his sword ready. He really didn't appreciate such obvious manipulation tactics.
"If you think that this will make you win, you're wrong." Cellbit sneered, sword raised to point at the other. He froze when Roier put his hand on the top of it, gently pushing it down and shaking his head at Cellbit.
"I dont- I don't need your vote asshole. This isn't for you- I- Roier I've been a bad friend. And i- I can't promise I'll be better but… if Quackity- that Quackity not me. If he makes you happy I'll bring it back. Lo prometo. " El Quackity took Roier's hands in his, staring at the other with determination in his eyes. "Even if I lose. I promise." He continued, before sighing and stepping back not sparing a glance at Cellbit or Richarlyson, who had come to stand behind his father's leg, before promptly teleporting away.
"What a bunch of bullshit, does he really think that will work?" Cellbit complained, putting his sword away and picking up Richarlyson, absent-mindedly bouncing the boy gently as he went and sat on one of the benches. Roier stood then in silence for a few minutes, Cellbit was unsure of what expression his husband had on his face but he didn't exactly appreciate how distraught it looked.
"Mi amor? You okay?" He called, watching as Roier blinked back, turning towards him.
"Ah- si si. Lo siento I'm okay." Roier said quickly walking over to his family. Pressing his forehead against Richarlyson smiling as his son reached up and pressed his tiny hands against his cheeks. He pulled back after a moment, finding Cellbit still watching him with an intense expression. "...Cellbit.. is it- is it wrong that I trust him. That I trust his judgment. That I truly believe that in a few days we will have our patito back?" Roier murmured leaning against his husband's shoulder. Cellbit froze at the admission before quickly rubbing his back, pressing a kiss against his husband's neck.
"Not at all. I- I don't trust him.. but if you do.. then I'm sure it'll be fine. Even if he is lying.. we will get quackity back soon. I promise."
Cellbit really hoped that was a promise he could keep.

Chapter 5: The Return

Summary:

Quackity remembers how much he loves the sun, as he finally gets to see it, along with some people he cares a bit to much about.
(also yes Foolish is here, he is one of my favorites he was getting added at one point)

Chapter Text

Cellbit yawned, smiling as he glanced to the side at his husband. The other was still sleeping, sunlight bathing his features. Cellbit smiled, gently brushing Roier's hair out of his face before moving towards the bathroom to get ready for the day. The election was finally over with, Forever winning exactly as planned. He smiled at the thought, while the other candidates left were all good, he was glad it was his running mate that run. Especially now that he was Vice president.
Still, his heart still aches slightly, his brain thinking back to what El Quackity said. Did he mean it? Was Quackity coming back? Would he come back alive? He groaned, learning against the counter, putting his head in his head.
“¿Qué pasa Gatinho?" Roier murmured pressing against Cellbits back with a yawn. Cellbit smiled passing the other his brush as he tilted slightly so Roier can see the mirror.
"Nothing Guapito just… It's after the elections."
"Sí, and?"
"Quackitys supposed to come back. If… if ElQuackity wasn't lying." Cellbit said, turning around to face his husband, watching as the others' eyes widened slightly in realization. "What are.. What are we gonna do about that?" Cellbit continued grasping Roier's hand and rubbing his thumb at his palm.
"I can set up the guest bedroom for him, I think I remember everything the other likes. Or do you want him to sleep with us mi esposo?" Roier's words caused Cellbit to freeze, eyes snapping up to see his Husband brushing his hair back like the sentence was the most casual thing in the world.
"Como?!?"
"Cellbit. Gatinho. Love of my life. You can not keep acting surprised when I suggest such things." Roier said giggling slightly as he pressed a kiss to Cellbits nose. Cellbit slowly blinked at him before burying his face in his husband's shoulder.
"And you… would be okay with that? With me uh… feeling something for him."
"Well yes, Sim. You still love me as much as you always have right?"
"Of course! Of course. Your my husband. I will always love you!" Cellbit said, quickly grasping Roier's hands to reassure him. Eyes widening at the fact that his husband thought it was even a question.
"Calma Gatinho, Calma. But, see. If you love me and Him the same, then I see no reason not to try. Besides, I've been starting to miss quackity like that too. I might have to explore those feelings with him there in order to figure out if I like him the same way as you but- eh If it makes you happy, and it doesn't get in the way of us I see no reason why we shouldn't." Roier said shrugging at Cellbit nonchalantly. Cellbit took a moment to admire the man, wondering what god he pleased to allow him such a loving husband, and what God he had to be pleasing in order to get a lovely duck on top of it.
"Although, you better be prepared to share with Wilbur when he gets back. Quackity isn't gonna stop loving him."
"If hatsune miku comes back, and is actually real, then yeah sure whatever makes Quackity happy. He just better not try to steal him all for himself" Cellbit scoffed smiling as Roier let out a string of laughter, bringing his husband closer to him. They both stood there for a moment, basking in the morning mood, before they heard twin buzzes from their communicator.
Cellbit sighed wondering who the hell could want him so early, before he paused, eyes reading and re-reading the message over and over again.
Quackity has Joined the server (+)

It's been three days. Three days and Quackity was steadily losing hope. The other version of him had shown up twice. One time pissed and angry, fresh explosion scars lining his face, wings suddenly a mess. He didn't say anything, only coming in to deliver food before storming out again. The second time he was less angry. More pleased. The expression he had on his face was A self satisfied smirk as he handed over food, an actual decent meal, golden apples and health potions included in it. For a moment Quackity assumed it meant the other had won, or that whoever did promised ElQuackity something, but the other had just patted his head before leaving again.
It was a new morning. At Least Quackity thought it was, he wasn't sure. He stretched, wincing at every pop and crack of his muscles and bones. His head snapped to the door as it creaked open, watching El Quackity yawn, the other tired. His eyes glared at Quackity before quickly tossing him a backpack.
"Get up, let's go." El Quackity seemed annoyed, Quackity noted as he caught the bag, quickly following the look a like out the door. He blinked, eyes straining to adjust to the sunlight as it poured down on him. His wings spread out on instinct, trying to hoard the warmth the sun provided. He yelped as El Quackity grabbed his arm pulling him towards a waystone, grip tightening on his arm as the other learned closer.
"Listen to me, and listen to me well. You can stay on this island, be happy with your little family, flirt with Roier and his asshole husband or whoever the fuck Wilbur soot is for as long as you want, but the second you get in my way. The second Cellbit or Roier gets in my way Quackity. I will gladly put you back in that fuckin water. I will gladly let the federation do whatever the fuck they want with you. Do you understand?" El Quackity learned closer to the other, eyes narrowing down. Quackity grimaced, yanking his arm out of the others reach.
"Yeah yeah whatever asshole." Quackity sneered, hiding the shaking in his limbs. He watched as ElQuackity examined him again, looking him up and down before turning on his heel and walking away. Quackity watched as the other entered the door, noting what buttons they pushed in order to open the door. Quackity hummed anxiously as he checked the bag, pulling out a waystone. The imposter paused at the door hearing the waystone, turning to spare a glance back at the other.the other
"Oh, and if you are good. Maybe, you'll get Tilín back. Who knows though!" The other laughed as the purple particles consumed him. Quackity whipped his head around to stare at the other, only to startle as he teleported to spawn, knees hitting the hard floor with a start. He panted, wincing as he stood up. Obviously, he wasn’t used to warping after so long.
“Quackity?” A familiar voice sounded from behind him. Quackity quickly turned around, hand gripping the waystone tightly, before relaxing as he took in Foolish and Leonarda standing in front of him.
“Foolish, oh my god Foolish” Quackity surged forward with a laugh, clutching the older man. He felt the other tense against him, hands awkwardly hovering above Quackitys back, nervous giggles escaping the Totem hybrid. Quackity felt a steady thump against his leg, Leonarda thumping against his leg annoyed at someone touching her dad. Normally Quackity would complain about the other being a brat, about them being spoiled. He couldn’t find it in him to care right now, as he quickly knelt down and grabbed the child's hands gently, staring at her in disbelief.
“Oh my god you're okay, your actually- I’m actually here Oh my God, FOOLISH IM BACK!” Quackity said letting go of the uncomfortable child and standing back up to face the older, who was looking increasingly confused and concerned by the minute.
“Uhhh your back?? Did you go somewhere?” Foolish tilted his head at the other before a look of realization hit his face as he glanced down at the others outfit- “wait- are you Quackity Quackity?? Like the original one not the mean one we blew up??”
Quackity laughed nodding his head rapidly
“Yes its me Pendejo! I’m back !! and-” He paused realization overcoming his face. “And none of you rescued me- wait what the hell Foolish why didn’t you come save me!” Quackity glared, heart dropping as he anticipated the answer. He honestly didn't know why he was asking, none of them cared. They never did.
"WOAH HEY NOW! I made you missing posters! Well pomme made them but see it says call Foolish right there! And I'm pretty sure Cellbit and Roier were doing something- they were both super agitated whenever someone mentioned how long you've been gone for- oh actually I think Roier Richas and Talulu made you something at your favela building." Foolish said, shoving a Missing poster in Quackity's hands before distracted mumbling as he tried to remember what exactly had gone on while Quackity has been gone. Quackity mostly tuned it out, staring down at the paper hands gripping it tightly. It wasn't a very good picture of him, obviously drawn by a kid (obviously not Richarlyson, his boy was better at drawing then most of the adults on the server, god he missed Richarlyson, and that made him miss Tilin too), but it was a homemade missing poster nonetheless. They put in the effort, they actually… had done something.
Quackity didn't know if that was comforting or not. That they cared, that they tried. He didn't… he felt so alone, for so long. It's why he even tried working for Cucurucho in the first place. After he heard Cellbit and Roier were getting married, he knew that was it for him. That he was truly alone. None of them really did anything to dispute that claim. Maybe Slime, but even then how often did Charlie's ass wake up. It's the same problem with Wilbur, he wasn't here. The people that were here- Well he thought they didn't care. Did they? This.. this looked like they did- but if they did why did they only show it now.
"Uh Quackity?" Foolish's once again snapped him out of his thoughts, Quackity glancing back as he waved his hand in front of his face.
"Sorry what- oh gracias leo" Quackity said pausing when Leo tugged on his pants to offer him toast. The little egg immediately hid back behind her fathers leg when he took it, but was still smiling shyly at him.
"I asked if you had your comm, Cellbit was asking if it was you or not, if you want I can tell them? If not that's fine but also I feel like they will figure out where you are and hunt you down eventually. Like I said, they were very worried. "
"Oh uh.. no I don't, I'll uh swing by the favela later to talk to him i guess." Quackity said, searching around the bag for his normal things, only finding some shitty armor and gear.
"Oh Okay! Oh by the way, hypothetically if the federation said to…could I arrest you?" Foolish said, stretching out his words and tilting his head. Quackity stared back at him appalled by the question.
"What the fuck no!?! What fucking question is that??"
"Ooo yeah- I guess you just got out of a kidnapping huh. Shouldn't have asked, my bad that was obvious. Just making sure. Last time I arrested someone it went bad for them so I wanted to ask consent incase it happens again! No worries though" Foolish said, putting his hands up non threatening, laughing slightly. Quackity stared at him for a moment before laughing, running his hands through his hair as he shook his head. God he was glad the first person he saw was Foolish.
"FOOLISH! Did you see the chat-" the two both looked to the side at the sound of a warpstone, freezing as both Cellbit and Roier appeared in front of them. Cellbit and him locked eyes, Quackity couldn't help but hold his breath.
The sound of another person warping causes Quackity to break the contact, glancing down to find Richarlyson standing there. The boy stared at him for a few minutes (he assumed so, his hair was still covering his eyes) before running to him a cry escaped his lips (Quackity almost thought it sounded like papa) as he jumped to hug Quackity. Quackity quickly reached down to scoop the other up pulling him closer. He couldn't help but tear up as the boy buried his face into Quackitys neck, clinging to him like the other world disappeared again. Quackity wrapped his wings around the other in reply, uncaring of the others watching, Richarlyson liked ducks that was more than enough reason to show off his hybrid traits.
"Hola Richas, I've missed you" Quackity murmured, squeezing the boy. God he missed this. He missed contact. He missed hugging, he missed feeling needed like this. He tensed slightly, feeling more pairs of arms wrap around his middle. He tilted his head back, finding Roier clutching his side, spider traits shining through in his emotional state. Quackity couldn't help but smile, bumping their heads together slightly, watching as the spider higher let out a wet laugh.
"No vuelvas a desaparecer de esa manera nunca más, Patito" Roier said through wet tears. Quackity froze at the pet name, surprised to see the Spider hybrid so… happy to have him back. Quackity thought he would have yelled at him for ruining his wedding. With the way Roier was clinging to him though. Quackity relaxed against him. Maybe he was wrong about them hating him.
"Quackity I- '' Cellbit started, still at arm's length. Foolish had left at one point, Quackity noted as he turned back to face the detective. He froze as the other fell to his knees in front of him, leaning his head against Quackity's leg. Quackity resisted the urge to flinch.
"I'm so sorry. We should have- I'm sorry I couldn't save you. I'm sorry that I wasn't there. I'm sorry I didn't notice- Quackity I'm so-"
"It's fine Cellbit, don't. Uh. Don't worry about it" Quackity said, stepping back. His feathers ruffled. He didn't, he wasn't upset about the apology. He appreciated what he did. * But I know better then to get used to this,* he thought, untangling himself from Roier’s limbs, setting Richarlyson down and slightly pushing him towards Cellbit, wordlessly telling the child to comfort his pai.
"I'll tell you guys all about the stuff tomorrow! Give you any details I can remember, but I'm tired! So, Adios! Boa tarde!" Quackity said quickly backing away. Cellbit quickly stood up, grabbing his wrist.
"You can stay at my castle. You can sleep in the guest room, or we can go to your pyramid, me and Roier can sleep on the floor or something. It's just- it's not a good idea for you to be alone right now, right Guapito?" Cellbit said quickly, turning to Roier for his support. The spider hybrid took a couple of seconds before nodding quickly.
"Yeah who knows what the Federation could do to you when we aren't watching. It's safer this way, Quackity." Roier said moving forward too. Quackity looked around nervously.
"Listen I appreciate the thought but I'm fine. I mean I wouldn't wanna intrude on your little family time so" Quackity allowed some of his bitterness to creep into his tone. Reminding himself of how they had abandoned him for each other. The bitterness faded as Richarlyson tugged on his leg holding out his notepad to the older.
*your part of our family ! You're my pa, just like Pai Cellbit, or papa Roier. I wanna show you all the things you missed while you were gone! And you still owe me more play time!" Richarlyson wiggled his father away from Quackity, opting to try and jump his way back into Quackitys arms. Quackity bit his lip, head swarming. This was a terrible idea. He should just leave. Still, his mind kept thinking back to Tilín. Did he really wanna neglect another kid? Especially one that- that didn't know how terrible he was. Richalryson only thought well of him, did he really wanna ruin that.
"I- okay. Fine. I'll stay for a day or two. Just to calm your paranoid asses down" Quackity said, scooping up the boy, pushing past cellbit and Roier to make it to the waystone, ignoring the doubt stirring in his gut as he clicked on Cellbit's warp.

Chapter 6: Bright Red Poppys

Anyways I did try to get this out before this hit 200 kudos but sadly school started this week but thank you so much for 200 kudos! As previously mentioned this was just going to be a really short couple chapter fic but now I have no idea how long this will be because I am having too much fun writing it lol. Quackity Lore stream soon though (I think tonight if I read that tweet right) and I am terribly nervous and excited for it. Manifesting either some q!chaosduo, q!caosduo or q!spiderduck moments.

Chapter Text

Waking up in a warm bed, with national sunlight and people curled around him wasn't something Quackity thought he would ever experience again. But here he was, in Cellbits guest bedroom, Richarlyson curled up in his arms, wings spread out comfortably to drape both of them like blankets.
A part of him wanted to stay inside, curled up under soft blankets and soak up every ray of sun that snuck through the windows. Wanted to wait until the little boy in his arms woke up demanding breakfast and something to do. Maybe if Quackity followed him down the stairs sleepily they would be met with Roier cooking breakfast, an array of mexican dishes that would bring him back to his childhood, and Cellbit handing him a cup of coffee unlike anything he ever tasted before.
But Quackity was never one to let himself stay still for long. So he carefully untangled his limbs from Richarylsons, taking care to tuck him into bed. His heart ached thinking about all the times he tucked Tilin in like this, more importantly how many times he didn’t. He shook it off, carefully descending the stairs, clicking on his communicator and checking who was marked as awake. Fit was, Quackity wasn’t exactly surprised by that news he seemed like an early bird from what he remembered, Pierre, Phil, Pac, yep. It seemed all the normal people who got up early were up. Good, none of them would want to talk to him.
He paused, passing by the kitchen. He probably should get something to eat shouldn’t he. The bread Leo gave him had already ran out. Plus if he left without leaving Richarlyson a note the boy would throw a fit. They were very jealous, despite having 5 dads (6 if one counted Quackity, no one did though), Quackity assumed it was because he was scared his parents were going to leave him on purpose instead of them simply being kidnapped. Quackity really hoped that assumption was wrong.
He quietly stole a piece of paper from one of the drawers, scribbling a little message on it, simply containing the words ``Thanks for the Company, went for a walk”. After a moment he added on a shitty drawing of a duck as well, hoping it would soften the blow. Quackity grimaced though, as he stared at it. Would he even think it was sweet? Were ducks even Richarlysons favorite anymore. Sure it's only been however many months, but the kid had already grown up so much. He was bigger then Bobby was now! Not to mention he seemed so much more mature then he did when Quackity left, (He didn’t want to think of the implications of that. Of what that kid had to go through when he was gone, What any of the kids had to go through when he was gone). Quackity didn’t even want to know how big Tallulah had gotten. He might cry if that kid inherited Wilburs tall genes.
“Quackity? ¿Qué haces?” Cellbits voice seems to echo off the walls in this kitchen, Quackity turning around to face him. The man was rubbing sleep out of his eyes, fluffy hair puffed up and messy, scruff and clothes unorganized. Quackity desperately fought off the butterflies threatening to start dancing within his stomach, as he quickly pressed his back against the counter he was using, hiding the note.
"Ah- Cellbit! Bom dia. I was just ummm" Quackity trailed off as the man walked forward, learning over him and peering down at the paper. If Quackity had a bit more brainchild he may have tried to move the note, or simply block Cellbit's view better. But whatever workers his brain had going on up there were either still sleeping or gushing over the proximity of the two. He turned his head to the side. It was odd to get flustered over his friend's crush. It was probably very odd to be getting flustered over your friend's husband.
“You're going on a walk? Where to?” Cellbit said reaching around Quackity to steal the note off the counter inspecting it more closely. Quackity opened and closed his mouth a few times before mumbling quietly. Cellbit tilted his head, an obvious sign he didn’t hear the other.
“My uh, pyramid, I wanted to see if I can get some old stuff. I was going to go to the Favela after, Foolish said something about a surprise for me. I think…” Quackity said slightly louder still looking off to the side.
“Oh, mind if I join you? I need to go to the Favela for something anyways, it would be fun to walk a bit instead of warping straight there” Cellbit said grabbing an apple off of his fruit basket, extending it out to the other. Quackity hesitantly nodded, taking the fruit. Cellbit smiled, scribbling something else on the note before pasting it on the fridge, tugging Quackity by the arm and leading him out of the door. Quackity yelped, following him quickly in order to not make one of them fall, only glancing back once to see a cat scribbled next to his duck.
He couldn’t help but smile, at the company, maybe it was wrong. Maybe he himself was wrong, but he hoped he never had to be alone again. Not when Company like this felt so right.

Cellbit didn’t expect to be spending the morning with just Quackity, but he can’t say he was complaining. It wasn’t the happiest moment the two could have shared, toeing the line between happy and sad as Cellbit pointed out all the new things on the island, the two taking the long way around in order to reach Quackity’s pyramid before the Favela instead of cutting across the Brazilians home. Cellbit was careful to keep Quackity in his eyesight, call it paranoia but the detective felt his heart race anytime the other vanished for a second. Scared that he would turn around and find that stupid bear in quackity’s place.
As they neared the entrance of Quackity’s Pyramid however, red caught cellbits eye causing him to turn away from Quackity. A poppy, red and vibrant, somehow against all odds it hadn’t been trampled or picked by someone or something. Cellbit smiled, glancing back at the other, who was nearing his build slowly. He gave Quackity a poppy, once upon a time. He had another one planted in his office. It used to be a reminder, on those hard days where he was angry over not finding him yet. Cellbit smiled, reaching down and picking it. He didn’t need a reminder like that anymore.
“Cellbit, what's taking you so long!” Quackity complained, spinning on his wheel to look back at the other. Cellbit smiled, quickly walking over to the other and placing the flower behind his ear. Quackity's eyes went wide, and Cellbit couldn’t help but laugh at the expression as Quackity reached his hand up and brushed against it. Cellbit stopped him before he could move the flower.
“Consider it a welcome back present, and an apology gift,” Cellbit said, stepping out of Quackity’s space again. The other stayed silent, glancing between Cellbit and the side, trying to catch a glimpse of the flower in his hair.
“You know you don’t have to apologize to me. It’s not like you kidnapped me you know” Quackity said, letting out an uncomfortable laugh. Cellbit frowned at the sound of it, disliking how forced it sounded. He never wanted to force Quackity to be happy. No he wanted to make the duck hybrid genuinely happy, wanted to watch his eyes light up with glee as he teased his friends. Wanted to watch him stare at an explosion in shock before letting out exasperated giggles as he called Cellbit every version of idiot he knew as he did.
“I wasn’t, that doesn’t mean I don’t have to apologize for not saving you. You were there for me when I was on my whole federation arc, I should have been there for you” Cellbit said, reaching out to take Quackity’s hand again, the other quickly moving it away. The two locked eyes, Cellbit analyzing the other's face. He looked so scared. He looked like he couldn’t believe what Cellbit was saying and he hated it. He hated that Quackity couldn’t believe that Cellbit cared about him, because he did! Cellbit cared about Quackity. Even outside of his stupid crush he cared because Quackity was his friend. Cellbit stepped forward slowly reaching out and lifting the others head to look at him better. Quackity tensed, but thankfully let him.
“I don’t know why they took you Quackity, and I don’t care. I won’t let it happen again, We won’t let it happen again, me and my husband and Richas and the whole rest of the island will protect you. I promise” Cellbit whispered rubbing his thumb over Quackity’s cheek.
“They didn’t… I wanted-” Quackity started before looking away, stepping back and staring at the ground in silence for a few minutes.Cellbit patiently waited, before Quackity suddenly nodded, simply moving and walking towards the favela. Cellbit paused glancing back at the pyramid.
“Didn’t you need something from your hous-”
“It's probably easier to go to the neighborhood I made in the Favela, or something, besides I shouldn’t keep you from doing what you need to do any longer okay come on-” Quackity spoke quickly, stumbling over some of his english as he sped walked forward. Cellbit watched for a moment, a smile overtaking his features, before he ran to catch up to the other, ready to protect him from any dangers.
He wouldn’t lose Quackity, or any of his family again, never again.

Chapter 7: Cake and Family

Summary:

Waking up alone isn't the best feeling. When your family has a reputation for disappearing it feels worse. But it's fine !

Notes:

Schools been kicking my ass But I finally have a update for youuuu all

Chapter Text

Waking up by himself wasn’t a pleasant feeling. Waking up to his son shaking him crying about how the federation kidnapped his parents again was worse. Roier quickly shushed the other, bringing him up to his chest and wrapping all of his arms around the other. He carried the boy down the stairs, trying his best not to freak out as he moved throughout the castle, finding empty room after empty room.
If the fuckin bear did come here, they would have heard something. Cellbit would have fought back, Quackity would have screamed. There would have been signs of a struggle. So logistically, if there were no signs of a struggle, and they heard no noises during the night, they were fine. But then again, how many times did that fuckin bear kidnap Richarlyson’s family out of thin air, how many times did they take Roier’s family out of thin air.
He paused when the two reached the kitchen, his body relaxing with relief as he saw the note on the fridge. Eyes zeroing in on the neat handwriting of Quackity, and the messy drawings of the two creatures he referred to His husband and Friend as, a cat and duck. He plucked the note off the fridge, handing it to his son and kissing the top of his head.
“See, Calma mijo, they just went for a walk.” Roier said ignoring the way his heart slowly returned back to normal. He was not worried, not at all. Richarlyson took the note, eyes scanning over it a few times before giving a curt nod placing it back on the fridge and tugging at his fathers sleeves to be let down. Roier did, watching as he then started running around the kitchen, grabbing various ingredients and bowls. A couple times Roier tried to intervene and ask him what he was doing, only to be ignored or shushed as the boy kept mixing. Roier just sighed, sitting down and watching his son, he knew what the rules of the kitchen were. He would follow them.
Richarlyson proved that mindset when he waddled up and tugged on Roier once he was done mixing… something. In all honestly he wasn’t entirely sure what it was. He wasn’t entirely paying attention when Richas gathered materials or else he would have been able to make a guess, but whatever it was needed to be cooked. So Roier set the oven, and placed it in. Richarlyson cleaned up his mess while he waited. Without being told. Roier was glad, Bobby always had to be told if Jaiden wasn’t there. Roier wouldn’t know what he would do if he had to start treating Richarlyson like Bobby. If he had to be reminded of times where he would try and scold his son through his laughter, where he could only be mad for a second before he was back to letting his precious boy do whatever he wanted.
Probably make Cellbit do it. Or one of his other parents.
The timer on the oven dinged after a minute, Richas bouncing off to the side while Roier took it out, It was a cake. A vanilla cake by the looks of it. Richarlyson clambered backup to his step stool when Roier placed it on the counter. Greedily grabbing frosting out of the fridge to decorate it. Roier laughed, quickly moving over to make sure he didn’t make too much of a mess.

Quackity was trying to ignore the butterflies in his stomach, he really was. But Cellbit was not making it very easy. The flower tucked behind his ear felt like it was burning, with how often he was thinking about it. The close proximity of the two made him itch to grab the hand brushing against his own. Itched to turn and look as the detective gave him a bright smile despite the tired look in his eyes. Wanted to do something stupid that would have them both laughing their asses off.
But he knew better. Cellbit was married, to someone he would consider his greatest friend. Cellbit was married and everyone on this server supported that. Everyone loved those two. Quackity couldn’t afford to make enemies after just getting back. Nor did he want to. He was so lonely before he got kidnapped. And maybe all of this company was out of pity or fear or anti federation bullshit but dammit he wasn’t alone anymore! And maybe they would all realize he was fine, or get bored, or he would piss them off and they would leave again but for now Quackity was going to take the opportunity to not be so… so alone.
He did question that decision the second he actually stepped foot in the favela he will not lie. Pac and Mike were just a lot when the two of them decided to interogate him. He understood the hesitance and questions, kinda. But fuck bro was it annoying. Quackity didn’t feel like answering questions right now. Sure he knew he would have to, eventually, But he preferred to not remember a damn thing about that stupid fuckin pool and that stupid fuckin bear, and the treadmill-
Quackity wanted to forget for at least a little while longer. But apparently an islander can’t have any amount of secrecy without working for the federation. Quackity tried to refrain from smashing his head against the wall as he was asked another questions, Fit and pierre had joined them at one point, Quackity was not sure when, but apparently that made the questioning worse. He glanced at Cellbit for help, but he wasn’t entirely paying attention, crouched down talking to Pomme and Ramon seemed to be his latest task.
Wait- did pomme look… scared of him. Or was that a pissed face. Did they do something? Why were they wearing all their armor? Did Quackity fuck up? Ramon also looked mad, which yeah sure Ramon never really liked him but what did he do that warranted a look like that. Why were the questions suddenly getting more aggressive, what were they even saying anymore? All the voices seemed to blend together like mush- no not mush water- ugly shivering cold black water that fuckin surrounded him and suddendly he couldn’t breath and it was all so loud and-

“QUACKITY!!!” Roier’s voice seem to cut through all of the different stimulations, him running up to the group from the favelas warp. Behind him Richas was speed walking behind him, a blue box with a golden bow in his hands, the boy seemingly determined not to trip and smash it.
His plan was somewhat foiled when Pac instantly rushed over to the boy with a bright shout of "Richas!", bringing him into a tight hug against his chest. Only to look intensely hurt when Richas practically screamed pushing against him as hard as he could. Roier quickly snatched the box out of Richarlysons hands when forever grabbed him, but the corner of it was still smashed. Which caused the other to stare, and stare some more, before dropping out of pacs arms and collapsing on the ground, pressing his face into the dirt. Quackity awkwardly paused as all the adults and eggs crowded around him to try and see what the matter was, peeking in between he circle to watch as Richarylson pulled and kicked at anyone who tried to touch him or pick him back up. Roier was saying something about it not being ruined, Cellbit seemed to be scolding Pac, and Mike was defending him while pac tried to apologize and comfort the boy, all in all it was very loud. Then Richas decided to start audibly crying, making it worse.
In a split second decision Quackity pushed fit out of the way, picking up Richarylson and bouncing him, up and down humming the first song that came to his head. It was a simple lullaby, he couldn’t remember the words of it if he tried, but the melody was practically ingrained in his head. He felt his body relax as the noise finally stopped, finding Richas staring up at him with wide eyes. Quackity simply smiled down at him.
“See, I know Pac didnt think before grabbing you but that's no reason to throw a fit, he was just excited to see you. And Im sure whoever the present is for will appreciate it anyways, and if they don't then your fathers and I will take care of it” Quackity said teasing tone seeping in at the end as he tossed Richarylson in the air slightly, catching him and giving him a quick squeeze before setting him down. He pointedly ignored the fact that he was heavier then Tilin ever was.
“Actually Patito, this is for you” Roier said, opening the box of the present and revealing a cake, messy frosting smeared all over it, a drawing of Quackity, Roier, Cellbit, and Richarlyson adoring the top. It was surprising how that was the neatest thing on the cake, but Quackity wasn’t going to comment on the messy border or illegible letters.
Not when he felt like his heart was about to leap out of his chest and start flying when he started thinking about how thoughtful the gift was.
“For me?” Quackity said, carefully taking it from Roier, staring down at the cake like it was a pot of gold. It was certainly as valuable to him as one. He only took his eyes off of it when Richarlyson shoved his notebook in his face, excited handwriting scrawled all over the page.
*Si! Its a welcome back present Pa! Because I missed you and Me and Pai Cellbit and Pa Roier and all the rest of the island were all worried about you! And I can’t wait to go on another adventure with you! And then after we do a solo one maybe we can do one with Tallulah Because she also missed you alot and it would be unfair to keep you all to myself!* Richarlyson’s handwriting got increasingly worse as he struggled to fit all of the writing on the page, and he quickly flipped the page to try and write down more. Cellbit read the writing over Quackity’s shoulder, and let out a laugh. Roier’s laugh echoing him.
“Calma Richas,” Cellbit said, picking his son off the ground to try and read what he was writing next. Richas leaned back into a touch, and Quackity took the time it took Richas to write to see that Pierre and pomme had run off somewhere, Fit seemingly trying to talk to Pac about something. With Mike butting in and teasing them. He had a few guesses of what, but he wasn’t particularly interested in learning. Not when Richas handed him a new page of his notebook.
*Sorry if this is a lot Pa, but I’m just so excited to have my whole family back again! TQM* it read, and god did that hurt. It made Quackitys heart soar and leap with joy at how happy his son- Richarlyson was to see him. Made him finally feel wanted. All the kind gestures made him so happy. Having Roier nod excitedly before wrapping an arm around him made his heart soar. Having cellbit lean in closer so Ramon can take a picture of the three of them made him so happy. Made Quackity feel like he had a family.
But he didn’t. This wasn’t his family. Atleast, it didn’t feel like it was. Tilin wasn’t here, Wilbur wasn’t here. He wasn’t a part of this fully. He wanted to be, god did he want to be. But even the thought of trying to be a part of this family scared him. Because what happens if El Quackity came back to ruin it. What happens if the federation takes him away again? What happens when he ruins it?
But those were all big boy thoughts, that he couldn’t bring himself to burden Richarylson or his friends with. So instead he smiled for the picture. Murmuring his thank yous for the presents. And if he was crying? Well, Quackity could always say they were happy tears.

Cellbit couldn’t stop looking at the photo that Ramon took. They really did look like a big family huh. He could hear Roier and Quackity teasing him in the background everytime he glanced at it, the group of them making their way to Quackity’s house. He couldn’t bring himself to care. He was happy. Truly terribly happy. God his life was so complete. Nothing could possibly be better than this.
He had his husband, he had his son, and he had his best friend, maybe possibly something more in the future- his patito. He didn’t know what he did to deserve this. He came from a god forsaken war wasteland. When he had to fight for his life with Bad, they both barely made it out alive. It left him so fucked up that he became.. Well he became the thing that left him in prison. Left him insane and crazy and so terribly fucked up.
And now he is here, with the loves of his life, the best thing to happen to him, and his friends all forgive and care about him. Nothing could possibly ruin this.
“Hello, I am apart of the Qsmp Census Bureau-”
Except maybe that.

Chapter 8: The Bear

Summary:

Cellbit hated Cucurucho. You'll find that most of the islanders will agree.

Notes:

Another chapter with my Foolish apologist propaganda mixed in with my regular Bullshit because once a doozer always a doozer.

Chapter Text

Cellbit watched as Quackity flinched back hearing the voice, the way his wings puffed and twitched. He watched the way his eyes would dart around the Favela making a note of every single object and obstacle, before finally looking at Cucurucho in front of him. Richarylson quickly clinging to the others leg, defiant and protective from months of watching his dads disappear before his eyes.
Cellbit watched, and yet he couldn’t bring himself to move, He’s been faced with Cucurucho more times then he can count, the stupid bear seemingly making him do any fucking thing it wanted. Whenever it wanted. He was worked to the bone with missions and research and just work by that thing. Yet he never felt so scared of it before.
The bear radiated a angry aura as is stepped closer to Quackity, its head snapping to a tilted position as it observed the scene in front of it. Then its laughter, its stupid fuckin laugh, rang out in the favela. Loud and more threatening that anyone could hear the shift in tone. The shift in position as it learned forward.
Silently Cellbit noted how many people had gathered around, swords drawn and raised. Cellbit wasn’t sure when Foolish and bad had woken up but both were standing on one of the favela trees, Bad drawing a bow and Foolish quietly fiddling with his bag debating on pulling something out. Mike and Fit had once again stepped close to the group, with Pac standing slightly behind then but with a bow out. Fits hands seem to twitch at his side, ready to grab the two in front of the bear in an instant if he moved. Even Phil had come down from his isolated wall it seems, standing on one of the rooftops with his eggs, gently holding tallulah's arm while glaring down at the bear.
He wasn’t sure who told, but it seemed that no matter the political or social standings of the Islanders they all agreed on one thing. Quackity was not being taken by that thing again. None of them will.
“What are you doing?” The bear asked, leaning out of Quackity’s space once more. Cellbit ignored the urge to run and hide the other behind him when he noticed how bad he was shaking.
“Hanging out with my friends, what do you have a problem with it? Oh look at me I’m Cucurucho im a loser with no friends” Quackity taunted, despite the shaking of his voice. One had to hand it to the duck, he was a shit talker until the very end. The intimidation tactics didn’t seem to work on Cucurucho sadly, considering how it simply laughed that same bone chilling laugh again before practically throwing a book at his face.
Cellbit stepped closer, scanning the pages over Quackity’s shoulder.
*YOU HAVE NOT FINISHED YOUR REQUIREMENTS, YOU MUST RETURN BACK TO THE BUILDING*
“Like hell he does Pendejo” Roier’s voice suddenly exclaimed from next to the other two, he apparently had done the same thing Cellbit had done in order to read the note, and found it just as infuriating as Cellbit did. Arms quickly coming to hold Quackity and pull him closer, Roier practically shifting all of his spider traits to look intimidating as he glared down at the bear.
Cucurucho paused, it’s eyes scanning over all of them before it took out another book. This time purposefully waiting till Quackity extended his hand out of Roier’s Grip to grab it. Cellbit quickly readjusted himself between Quackity and Cucurucho when Quackity pulled his arm back, glancing back only to read the note again.
*FAILURE TO COMPLETE REQUIREMENTS WILL RESULT IN FAILURE OF THE TASK. THE FEDERATION CAN NOT PROVIDE YOU WITH YOUR FAMILY UNTIL YOU PROPERLY COMPLETE THE TASK. DO YOU STILL WISH TO CONTINUE?*
Cellbit instinctively reached out and grabbed Richarlyson, catching the back of his t-shirt and lifting when his son tried to run to headbut Cucurucho. Cellbit knew why he tried to, honestly Cellbit wanted to headbut it himself. But still not a good idea. He let the boy squirm in his arms, as Quackity re read the note a couple times. Richarlyson scribbling note after note and flinging them at the bear until a furry of incoherent rambles were left at his feet.
Cellbit supposed after watching so many of his family getting taken, Cucurucho trying to guilt trip one into leaving purposefully was the last straw.
“What- What do you mean provide me with my family.” Quackity said after a while staring at the note. His hands were shaking more, Cellbit gently reached over to try and take one, Quackity didn’t let him.
*YOU WANTED YOUR SON BACK CORRECT?*
“It’s trying to manipulate you Quackity! Whatever it said its gonna give you is a lie” Philza’s voice called out to the side. Quackity didn’t even try to look at it. He just stared at the note distantly. Roier was silent by his side, eyes also zeroing in on the note. Cellbit cursed under his breath, moving closer to both of them. Tilin meant so much to both of them. The fact that the federation tried to hold him over their heads was just cruel.
“Quackity, come on we’ve tried this before. They won’t bring back the eggs” Fits voice was softer, stepping closer to the trios bubble, trying to be comforting. It didn’t stop Quackity from shoving himself away from the group to glare.
“They brought back Juanaflippa! Why the hell can’t they give me back my son huh?”
“Even if they do Quackity whos to say it will be the real Tilin? Or if it would be worth it they are asking you to go back and be kidnapped-”
“Anything is fuckin worth it to me!” Quackity shouted, silencing everyone around them. “Thats my fucking kid! My Son that I fucking lost! I lost because I was a fuck up! I will do Anything to fix that mistake. Anything to not be so fucking lonely!”

Their was silence in the favela after Quackity’s outburst. Everyone staring at him like a lab rat, Quackity hated it. He hated the staring. Hated how every single of them claim to be on his side, claim to be his friend, claim to be his family. Yet none of them actually understand. They don’t understand what its like to lose their kid. They all had there’s, none of them had lost someone like that yet.
“Quackity” Roier’s voice murmured, forcing him to focus on the spider hybrid.
Well, except for him.
“Patito, Ya no estás solo.Sé que es difícil de creer, pero te prometo que no estás solo. Yo estoy aquí, Cellbit está aquí, Richarylson y Foolish y Philza y Tallulah y todos nosotros estamos aquí.”
“Pero Tilin no es-”
“Lo sé, pero encontraremos una manera de traerlo de vuelta. Porque ahora somos una familia. Eres parte de nuestra familia.” Roier grabbed Quackity bringing him into a hug. Quackity stiffened, arms twitching by his side anxious. But then he practically collapsed into the other, tears streaming down his face.
“I just got you back man, I can’t lose you again.” Roier whispered quietly, watching as Quackity burst into tears even harder.
Cucuruchos robotic laughter interrupted the scene, the bear stepping closer to the duo, ignoring the shouts and movements of the rest of the islanders.
“Answer the question.”
“dont you have anything else to do, they are having a moment-” mike' voice groaned as he moved to step closer to Cucurucho. He froze when it pulled out a gun on him. Pac rushed to his side instantly, tugging him backwards and crowding towards Fit, the tallest standing in front of the duo in a instant. The other islanders also took steps back, either to grab and push back kids or to hide altogether. Everyone except Foolish that is, who instead laughed nervously and got in Cucuruchos face rocking on his heels.
“Hey! Why does everyone else get fun federation tasks except for me huh! Come on give me something! I can do whatever Quackity’s meant to do! Or even arrest someone again! That would be fun huh! Oh- except I can only arrest certain people because I did promise but you know how it is. Bad’s right there man all it takes is the go ahead and I’ll have him locked up real nice! You need a lab rat I’m sure that scumbag will do wayyy better then Quackity anyhow. “ Foolish laughed, moving at the same time Cucurucho did in order to stay in his field of vision.
“No”
“NO! Comeeee onnn I need a distraction anyhowww- I mean I can totally go work on the titan to but if you have a task for me I’ll make it my top priority! Lets go give me something! I can get materials, or resources, or do more handy dandy detective work- Oh actually do you have any updates on Mr.Mustard? I found a couple more oranges but that was kinda it and was hoping- and there he goes” Foolish said smirking as Cucucurcho walked away, only stopping to let out a “Disfruta la isla” as it walked past.
“Worked like a charm” the Totem hybrid proclaimed laughing as leo nodded rapidly besides him, He picked her up and spun her, before turning towards Roier and Quackity who were watching him confused, tears still slightly dampening their face. “You okay Mijo? I can take Richarlyson off your guys hands if you wanna go back home to rest since Pac and mike will be heading off soon anyways. Past their bed time and all” Foolish said ruffling his son’s hair gently, ignoring the protest of the iconic duo. Roier paused before bursting out in laughter, leaning into the touch.
“Estoy bien, gracias pa. Thank you for distracting him” Roier said, scrunching up his face when leo took it to pinch his cheeks before cleaning off the tears.
“I don’t know what your talking about” Foolish replied cheekily lifting leo onto his shoulders and then turning to take Richarlyson from Cellbit, tossing the boy up once before swinging him. Leo switching their hats rapidly in order to make their nephew laugh.
“Thank you Foolish.” Quackity murmured after a while, strained under his breath. Foolish once again just laughed him off, handing him some more food.
“Eh it was nothing, Go get some sleep kiddos” Foolish said practically shoving the trio towards the waystone, waiting for them all to teleport before turning back to the others. Bad instantly sliding up to his side. He let the other take Richarlyson for a second as he adjusted his grip on leo.
“Not so pro federation now huh?” Bad teased shoving the other, Foolish just rolled his eyes.
“Nah don’t get me wrong, Cucurucho still an awesome guy, still besties you know” Foolish joked, taking back his grandson and preparing to warp to the titan.
“But doesn’t get immunity from touching your kin right?” Bad said, still teasing, but foolish knew him well enough to recognize the teasing glint to his voice.
“yeah….Something like that” Foolish said, warping.

The rest of them started for a minute before moving on, going back to their tasks. Going back to their days or heading back to sleep in some of the early birds cases. Phil after a moment of hesitation, did the same, carrying down his two eggs towards Quackity’s Favela build. Tallulah once again taking their time to fix up all the plants and pick back up anything that was distributed by mobs during the night. Chayanne reluctantly swiping away cobwebs or grime off of the walls and corners. Phil watched them a relaxed smile on his face. He paused however, lifting his head up more to call over his shoulder.
“Fuck off”
He heard laughter in response, the same robotic noise he and the rest of the islanders grew to loathe, and the sound of something being dropped. He turned, finding the book on the ground and Cucurucho waving at him.
“Disfruta la isla” it spoke jumping up and down a few times before turning and running back towards the waystone of the favela. Phil let out a long groan swooping up the book with a sense of annoyance.
*Adjustments will be made to allow Quackity and the other islanders to complete the requirements.*

Chapter 9: Stars

Summary:

Shorter chapter but Cute none the less

Chapter Text

Quackity didn’t leave the others sides much for the rest of the week. When Cellbit got up and worked on something, Quackity would follow, not providing much input to his theories, or any input in the conversation really. Just watching. When Roier eventually woke up and went to build Quackity would switch, only reacting whenever Roier asked for a block or help.
When both of them were asleep, Quackity stayed in their room. Not on the bed or sleeping with them, even though the duo tried many times to get him to properly sleep, but sitting against the wall and staring. His eyes constantly trained on the balcony or main entrance to the room. Only moving when one of Cellbit’s cats wanted to climb in or out of his lap.
Then the new people got announced. And suddenly the group was walking miles away in order to rescue them. Suddenly people Quackity thought were dead or long gone were on parading around with the rest of them. Suddenly he was laughing and joking about some stupid road trip as they prepared for new friends!
Then suddenly he got killed by his son. His Tilin. A sword right through his chest that downed him so quickly he didn’t have time to think. Suddenly he was back at the castle with his hands shaking, and tears streaming down his eyes. And Roier appeared seconds later yelling something, but Quackity could barely tell what. He was just shaking.
It was a code, the others explained later. Quackity couldn’t bring himself to care. It burned no matter what. It hurts no matter what. He tried to laugh and smile and be bright for the new people. But it was so hard.
He was happy about the others arrivals, don't get him wrong. The active spanish speakers were severely lacking, so seeing Missa come back and seeing so many new friends he could talk to in his native language was nice. It was refreshing. But having to explain to them why he didn’t have an egg. Having to watch as they all fell in love with the alive ones, knowing that they couldn’t meet his son. That hurt.
Thankfully, Roier knew the same pain he did. Having to explain that his son was dead so many times stung for him too. Most people would believe Roier moved on, that he was better then Quackity in the recovery process. And if Quackity hadn’t been hanging out with him so often he might agree. But Roier and Quackity were both the same amount of broken. Roier just hid it better.

So sneaking away with the other to go sit in the balcony of Cellbits castle, a plate of various fruits and sweets in between the two as they sat quietly. Quackity didn’t say anything, but for once Roier didn’t either. The two just sat, winding down from the activities of the day. Cellbit would be home soon, and he would end up dragging Roier into bed.
Or at least that's what he thought, but when Cellbit returned to the castle he didn’t say anything, only glancing at the duo before returning back downstairs. Quackity glanced between the door Cellbit just left through and Roier, afraid that the other was upset or something. Roier seemed calm thought, only sparing it a glance before turning back to watching the stars.
“My fathers always say they were written in the stars you know.” Roier said after a few moments. Quackity went to ask why he was speaking in English until he heard footsteps approaching them. Cellbit carefully carrying three mugs of something and a refill of snacks in his hand. The detective hummed to Roier’s comment as he handed Quackity one of the mugs, placing the food down on the floor before settling next to the duo.
“Everyone on the island knows Foolish and Vegetta are disgusting in love yes” Quackity commented after a moment. He sat up cheerfully at the giggles Roier and Cellbit let out, sipping from the mug he was handed. Hot chocolate, the good kind, with cinnamon and chili and actually good chocolate instead of the shitty packaged shit. Quackity beamed at the taste sipping more. Pointedly ignoring how pleased Cellbit seemed to be that he liked it.
“Thats not the point Cabron” Roier complained stealing a mango from the snack plate and leaning further back. Cellbit placed a hand against his back to stop him from fully laying down.
“What is the point Guapito?” Cellbit murmured, pushing gently to make Roier sit right. Quackity snorted at the way Roier pouted around the fruit in his mouth. Upset that his point isn’t obvious.
“Do you think we’re destined like that? That the stars have our names written down too?”
“If you two fuckers wanted to flirt you could have asked me to leave first” Quackity complained loudly, bringing his legs closer and beginning to stand up. Roier quickly reached over cellbit to tug at him, both narrowly missing spilling their hot chocolate at the action.
“Watch it” Cellbit hissed batting Roiers arm away and making sure neither he or Quackity spilt the hot liquid anywhere. Roier ignored the scolding looking at Quackity with a dead serious, and slightly annoyed expression on his face.
“I meant you too pendejo! When will you realize your stuck with my ass no matter what”
“Yeah yeah friends till the end of the line Roier point still stands-”
“No motherfucker! Your apart of this! Apart of us! Our Patito!” Roier complained waiting for Cellbit to put his drink down before tugging at Quackity, bringing him closer to Cellbit and himself.
“This isn’t how I thought we were gonna do this conversation” Cellbit murmured, one hand staying on his Husbands back while the other came to hover near Quackitys waist. Quackity was currently Frozen, his brain processing the words over and over again. That… he must have misheard, must have gotten something lost in translation.
“Que?”
“Ay- Quackity te amo! I Love you! Y Cellbit está loco por ti! How else do you want me to say it asshole!” Roier shouted, frustratingly climbing over Cellbit to hold Quackity’s face in his hands. “And I know you love us back! If you don’t want this then fine but don’t play dumb!”
Quackity felt red hot blush rising to his face and neck as he stared at the other, glancing between him and Cellbit a couple times over. Cellbit looked more embarrassed then Roier, but… he didn’t look like this was a joke.
“En Serio?” Quackity whispered, voice wavering as he felt his heart slamming against his chest.
“Yes! Yes motherfucker I’m Serious!” Roier shouted, shaking the other slightly. Cellbit finally decided to move, grabbing the others hips to pull him away slightly. He continued to say, something, but Quackity didn’t really care enough to try and understand. They loved him.
They loved him. Roier and Cellbit… Loved him.
Did he love them? He thinks so. He still isn’t really sure about the whole love thing in general but, he definitely felt something for them.
They loved him. They loved him like they loved each other. They loved him.
They are also waiting on an answer from him and from the way Cellbit currently looks dejected and Roier is half glaring, half pouting Quackity can guess him waiting is making them very upset.
“Te amo tambien” He said quickly, launching himself at the other two, Drinks half abandoned behind him as he hugged Roier and Cellbit, hearing the shocked noises they made turn into excited cheers as they hugged him back. Feeling the presses of kisses across his face shocked him, but he was delighted at the feeling, his feathers ruffling happily.
He didn’t know what this meant, if they were dating or engaged or what. If Quackity was being honest he didn’t really care. They could figure it all out in the morning.
Tonight, he was going to sit with these two and smile, and laugh, and make stupid conversation till the sun came. Tonight, was something that no one, not even the federation could take away from him.
He hopes so anyways.

Chapter Text

Waking up next to other people was not something Quackity was used to. It certainly wasn’t unpleasant, quite the opposite actually. But currently, with Roier squishing one of his wings and Cellbit’s arm wrapped around his waist keeping him in place, it was very difficult to untangle himself from and, as much as Quackity would love to stay here forever, he really had to go to the bathroom.
There was also increasingly louder shouts coming up the stares, two voices simply incomprehensible warbles and yips at each other, and the third belonging to a way to familiar Spanish man that Quackity did NOT want to realize he was sleeping in the same bed as his son and son in law.
Quackity didn’t even know when Vegetta had come back! Or why the fuck he was here. One of the warbles sounded like Richarlyson so Quackity guess that he was dropping the little one back off, But even still why couldn’t Foolish do it! Sure it would still be mortifying and downright terrifying to have Foolish find Quackity like this. But at least his chances of Survival were like 90% better!
Quackity tugged on Cellbit’s arm again, only getting a disgruntled groan and the grip tightening around his body, which was the last thing Quackity wanted. He squirmed more as the voices got closer, finally succeeding in waking up the two.
“Quackity? Its so early go back to sleep-” Cellbit murmured, finally moving his arm to rub at his eyes. Quackity quickly sat up, effectively knocking Roier off the bed in the process, and scambered to the bathroom.
“OW PENDEJO WHAT THE FUCK-”
“Sorry Bathroom! Your dad, son and sister are downstairs k have fun-” Quackity rambled quickly running into the bathroom and slamming the door behind him. Letting out a sigh of relief when he was done.

Roier stared at the door Quackity disappeared to, sleepily registering what he said. Turning to Cellbit to get a translation, he was instead met with two children practically tackling him back onto the bed. Giggles erupted from the two at the shout he let out. Roier sat up, bringing the two children to rest on the sides of him, now being able to tell it was Leo and Richas.
“Te digo que no hagas eso” Vegetta’s voice echoed off of the castle walls as he appeared in the door frame. An exhausted but amused look on his face. Roier only took a second to process that he was real before practically launching himself at the other. Hands curling into his fathers clothes as laughs bubbled up in his chest.
“Pa! Volviste!” Roier cheered, smiling harder as his dad hugged him back. He heard Vegetta say something about his journey, or when he came back. In honestly Roier didn’t care too much. He was just enjoying the moment.
That was until he heard a loud crash coming from the bathroom. Everyone in the room pausing more a moment as a string of Spanish curses from an all too familiar voice followed. Roier tensed, slowly turning his head to look at his dad’s eyes. He ducked when he saw the raised eyebrow and slightly disapproving expression Vegetta gave him.
“¿Por qué está Quackity aquí” Vegetta asked, slightly frowning.
“Oh uh- visiting” Cellbit replied from the bed quickly getting up and ushering a Curious Leo away from the door. Knocking a couple times on it before asking “Quackity? Tudo bem?”
“Son of a’ uh Sí- Yes-Sim. Tudo be-” Another series of crashes followed by another string of curses sounded from the bathroom. Cellbits’ expression quickly changed to worried as he opened the door finding Quackity sitting on the floor with a hand on his head. A couple of the decorations had been knocked down, a rug had been scrunched up, obviously the reason the Duck Hybrid had fallen at all. Roier winced at it, realizing it was the rug that Cellbit and him had a small argument about if it needed to be held in place or not. Apparently Cellbit had won that argument.
Cellbit quickly moved towards Quackity fussing over him, trying to move the hat out of the way so he could check his head. Richarlyson quickly pushed his way in the room to check on his other father. Leo hesitantly followed their nephew into the room, pausing when they got in their before glancing back at Vegetta and Roier before quickly making a point to clean up all the fallen objects, both out of the goodness of her heart and his need to be praised.
Roier could not help the fond look that overtook him at the scene, most of his favorite people in one room, working together. The only thing that could make this better was if foolish or jaiden were here, laughing along, who knows maybe it would be like the early days when Jaiden would wake up carrying a giggling Bobby-
Roier quickly turned away, his heart suddenly dropping to his stomach. Vegetta met his eyes, the teasing look on his face quickly melting away to concern. He glanced between Cellbit and Quackity and Roier, a look of anger appearing on his features. And as much as Roier did not want to tell his dad the truth right now, he also did not want his dad to murder his husband and lover because he thought Roier had been played.
“No pa- espera no es así” Roier said, quickly grabbing his Fathers arm when he moved towards the two, sword in hand. Roier spotted Quackity and Leo both quickly turning towards the two at the words, Quackity’s face quickly morphing into a fearful one as he spotted the sword.
“Quackity and Cellbit están saliendo, y ellos son mis novios” Roier explained rapidly, ignoring the dramatic gasp Leo made as they turned to Richas. Vegetta paused for a moment, face changing from anger into something Roier could not identify as he glanced between Roier and the group in the bathroom. Roier shifted from heel to heel as his Vegetta looked Quackity up and down, even going as far to take a couple steps closer to the other.
“¿tu padre sabe?” Vegetta asked Roier, not taking his eyes off the other two for a moment, only turning around after Roier didn’t answer right away. Roier shook his head, nervously swallowing his own spit. Fear churning in his gut. That was until Vegetta’s Face broke out into a grin.
“Ah, cuando le digas, ¡hagamos una fiesta!” Vegetta said, turning back to the other two with a smile on his face “felicidades! Hazle daño y te mataré.” He said, a smile on his face having a stark contrast to his words as he scooped up Leo and made his way down the stairs, only pausing to give Roier one last hug goodbye.
“Man what the fuck-” Quackity sighed fully laying down on the bathroom floor, causing giggles to erupt from Cellbit and Roier.
“Congrats you survived” Cellbit teased flopping down next to him. Laughing as Richas flopped down on top of the two, nuzzling into Quackitys side.
“Scariest experience of my life,”
“Hey, Foolish pointed a gun at me so I feel like arguably you got the better end of the deal” Cellbit said motioning Roier over, who quickly accepted, flopping on his other side.
“FOOLISH DID WHAT?!?!?! And we have to tell him next!??!” Quackity whined pulling down his beanie.
“We don’t have to tell him if you don’t want to, Vegetta will keep a secret for atleast a week, and if I bribe Leo with enough food then she will shut up” Roier said turning to glance at the rest of his family. There was a missing weight on his chest, a place where a child, maybe two, should be mirroring Richarylsons actions. That didn’t matter though. Not now.
“But then we don’t have an excuse to get presents and not feed ourselves are you kidding. Your family actually makes good fucking food I’m not about to miss out on a party from them! The only people that makes better food is Chayanne, which is canceled out by the fact that the kid is a little shit” Quackity explained, like it was a fact as obvious as two plus two. Richarlyson nodded in agreement, making a series of dragon noises at Quackity. Who beamed at him nodding along. “See Richas gets it.”
Roier and Cellbit exchanged a look, before bursting out in laughter, both moving to cuddle up to the two. “Yeah sure, whatever you say Patito”

Chapter 11: Rain

Summary:

It never rained on Quesadilla island. And yet today the rain seemed nonstop, pouring and pouring and pouring. That couldn't be good. Could it?

Chapter Text

Rain poured around the island. Pattering on every rooftop, splashing the windows, dripping from tree leaves. It wasn’t very Aggressive rain, no wind or lightning to accompany it. But it was heavy, leaving every place soaked as the islanders watched from their homes, cautious, afraid. It didn’t rain on this island. It especially didn’t rain for this long.
By the time the first drops of water started Etoiles, Bad, Phil, and Forever already had weapons out, ushering the eggs and even some of the newer island members into safe houses like the egg hotel. Overly cautious of what would come with the rain.
Some of the others, like Fit, Pac, and Mike, choose to ignore the rain at first. Sometimes the island simply rained for dramatic effect. Someone might just be having an angsty moment. Who knows, maybe Tubbo got rejected again and the Admins decided it would be funny to add a little downpour. But as the minutes turned into hours every one of the islanders grew weary, gathering at spawn drawing weapons and shields as they walked around the N.I.N.H.O waiting.
Almost all the eggs were inside the hotel by the time the rain had hit the 3 hour mark without any incident happening. Only one still outside was Leo, who had thrown a fit when any of her Tio’s had tried to convince her to go into the room, opting to run around the rain with Foolish, Tina, Mouse and Jaiden. For their part, the group seemed carefree, splashing around puddles with the little one, but Foolish and Jaiden both had a sense of weariness to their face. Jaiden constantly hovering over the monitor that accessed Leo’s room in the hotel, and Foolish subtly steering the smaller one back towards the big group whenever they tried running to far.
Everyone seemed confused, for the most part. The older resident on edge, pressing Cellbit or Forever to answers on what could be going on, or trying to scope for clues without straying too far from the group, hovering by the N.I.N.H.O in fear of leaving their own eggs their, and also wanting to look out for the one running around. The newer residents had been clueless at first, but after being explained the island's simulated weather patterns, they seemed restless, Tubbo and Bagi both itching to take a group to look for the reason why.
After a moment Cellbit called the group together, causing chaotic chattering as the group tried to figure out why there was rain. Back and forths that led to nowhere and complicated theories like this reminded Roier why he usually left the Theorizing up to his husband, only contributing when asked. It wasn’t that he didn’t have ideas, it was just that everyone else’s ideas seemed wild in comparison to his own.
So Roier let his eyes wander, choosing instead to glance at his family. Vegetta wasn’t here today, seemingly needing his beauty sleep. But, that didn’t deter his little sister from giggling running around their dad and Tia’s, also not paying attention to the little Theory conversation they were having. Roier smiled, snorting to himself when Leo almost tripped and fell in the mud, having to bite his cheek to contain his laughter when his sibling turned and looked at him annoyed after.
Leo quickly ran over to a bigger pile of sludge, squatting down to grab some of it, no doubt to try and throw it at Roier. But, when she was getting up she paused, staring off into the distance. Roier tilted his head, looking at where she was standing and froze as he saw the same white bear walking towards them as she did. He took a few steps forward, ignoring the confused noise Quackity made from besides him as the thing stepped in front of Leo. He stopped however when he saw it crouch down next to Leo its head tilting as he did so.
“Qué haces?” It asked, immediately laughing when Leo simply held up his muddy hands in response before pointing towards Roier. Roier saw Cellbit coming up next to him out of the corner of his eye, Forever by his side, both probably moving to get Leo away from the bear. If it was the other one Roier would let him, but this time Roier grabbed his husbands hand, simply shaking his head at the others confused look.
If this was Cucurucho, it would probably have stood up and moved on with its day, went and bothered the islanders. But this was Osito Bimbo. How did Roier know? Well, because as soon as he saw the muddy hands of Leo the bear patted her head before dipping in his own paws into the mud, making a mess of his fur before laughing, waiting till Foolish got close enough before smearing mud on the others nose, laughing along with Leo at the noises he let out.
Roier let out his own laughter too, so engrossed in the scene that he didn’t even realize Leo was waddling up to him till it was too late, the little one practically jumping in his arms smearing mud and grass all over his spiderman jacket.
“Ay! Leo pendejo!” He yelped barley catching his sister, before noticing the grime now on him. “You little- I’m not letting you borrow this jacket anymore!” He threatened, smirking at the regretful look in her eyes. That was until she started pouting and immediately turned to Cellbit next to him, throwing him and Forever the biggest puppy dog eyes they could.
“Aww, he doesn’t mean that Leo it’s okay” Cellbit, like the softie he was, caved immediately taking Leo out of Roier’s arms and bouncing them, missing the way the other subtly wiped the rest of their grime onto his jacket as he consoled her. Roier turned to his dad to complain, only to find him laughing his ass off at the scene, only pausing to make fun of Roier’s facial expression to Osito bimbo, before the two kept laughing.
Roier let out a dramatic huff, opening his mouth to complain, until he felt a cloth running down his clothes. He turned to find Quackity cleaning the mud off, purposefully angling his body to be facing away from the bear.
“Stop complaining Culero, it’s already soaked, all of our things has to be washed tonight, might as well say fuck it and go get her back.” Quackity finished wiping off the biggest chunks of mud before slightly pushing him, laughing at the devious look on Roier’s face as he started towards the mud. Leo let out a squeak when she realized what was happening, scrambling away from cellbit to go hide behind her dad. Foolish smiled, hiding her behind his back, waiting till Roier walked closer and locked eyes with him.
“Don’t get any in her face or hair, Vegetta will kill us all if he has to comb mud out of it ok” Foolish said quickly side stepping, laughing at the joy of his son and betrayed look of leo as the two siblings started chasing each other. Osito Bimbo clapped as the two began running around, taking delight in such fun.
Leo let out a few dragon noises as she ran, making an effort to fling snowballs and other useless items she had at two of the N.I.N.H.O windows as Roier got a couple chunks of mud on her. The sounds of two people warping quickly had all the parents turning their heads, Fit letting out a laugh and Bad getting ready to scold as Ramon and Dapper appeared.
Leo immediately ran towards her other two triplets, letting out a bunch of dragon nonsense none of the island could understand as he did. Dapper let out a amused huff as Leo ran behind him, using him as a human shield. Ramon on the other hand practically squealed in delight reaching down to make mud balls that he could chuck at his uncle, only pausing to elbow dapper to do the same.
Quackity stood off to the side with some of the newcomers as one by one people joined in on this little mud fight, Roier immediately calling Cellbit and Richas to come help him as he got outnumbered, which then turned into pomme and the french joining Leo’s side, which caused the brazilians to help Roier, which made Tallulah and Chayanne to join, which because of a stray mudball got Philza to betray them and fight with Roier and, well, it was a whole event.
Eventually, the group did get tired out, officially ending it when Foolish yelped when leo finally slowed down enough so he could get a look at Leo’s hair. Quickly grabbing her and moving to one of the benches near spawn so he could pick through it and try to salvage it when they got home.
Quackity smiled at the scene, oddly domestic, oddly and outcast in it, as most things were.
At least that was until Foolish was calling him over hurriedly, rambling a hundred things a minute. For a second one would have thought that Foolish had pulled out half of her hair with how bad he was panicking. Quackity ran over expecting to see his kid in tears, by the way Dapper and Ramon both followed him they probably thought the same. But, instead of some massive rats next or bald spot, Quackity was met with a neat child. Only thing wrong with Leo’s hair seemingly was that it was wet, Well that and that Foolish was holding part of it with a untied ribbon pretty uselessly.
“-and leo insists that she has to wear a purple ribbon today but I have absolutely no idea how to tie it and Tilin wore a ribbon all the time so maybe you could help a man out and just tie it, not in a bow if you don’t want i know that may be weird to like see another kid with a big bow like yours- but like I mean if you want that would look pretty probably and-” Foolish rambling seemed endless as he looked at Quackity moving on of his hands animatedly, struggling to keep the other still so he didn’t move leo around. Leo seemed to be getting impatient as he continued. Glancing at Quackity with a annoyed look, rolling her eyes as her dad kept talking.
Quackity snorted, Leo always was sassy, even with his limited interactions with them, so he gently swatted Foolish’s hands away, quickly taking the section of hair and bow and making a quick Ponytail out of it, trying the bow in a swift motion. Leo quickly hopped off her dads lap, running over to the nearest puddle to look down at it. Ignoring the fact that the rain dampened and made the bow droop, they seemed happy with it, quickly turning to show it off to her siblings.
It was in moments like this that Quackity was happy that the eggs didn’t look too much like each other. Well, except Tallulah and-
Ositito Bimbo laughed from besides him, clapping happily at Leo’s joy, startling the adults that had gathered around. Quackity turned on his heel annoyed, puffing up threateningly when the bear looked at him. It only tilted his head, before practically jumping as he straightened out, remembering something. Quackity found a small amount of comfort at how much more expressive this one was compared to the other.
Only a small amount though.
The bear quickly grabbed out a book, handing it to Quackity and Pulling out a umbrella so he can read it without it getting wet. Quackity hesitantly turned to look for Roier and Cellbit, smiling when he found them already at his side. Quackity sighed opening the book.
*AFTER MUCH WORK THE FEDERATION HAS FOUND A WAY TO GIVE THE DEAD EGGS A LIFE BACK. THE ISLANDERS, ALL OF THE ISLANDERS, WILL HAVE TO COMPLETE MULTIPLE TASKS IN ORDER TO GATHER THE RESOURCES NEEDED TO RETURN THEIR LIVES. Chapter 12: Silence

Chapter Text

It was still raining that night. Quackity didn’t know if it had stopped and started back up or had simply been waiting for hours. In honesty, he didn’t care. The second he read the contents of the book he had turned on his heel and left. Not speaking, not even telling Roier or Cellbit where he was going or letting them come with him. He had just turned off the location on his map and left, finding some waypoint far far away waypoint to walk.
He didn’t answer any of the many messages on his comm when he got up either. He was probably being a bad partner by ignoring Cellbit and Roier so early into whatever they were. Normally, he would feel bad. But right now the thought of Vegetta coming to kill him for hurting Roier seemed like a blessing.
If he was dead he couldn’t be called selfish or turned into a lab rat, and he could see Tilin again.
Seemed like a win win to him.
Still, the more caring part of his brain refused to just let him give up. Even if he wasn’t sure what he would choose, simply dying for the sake of not making a choice seemed like the worst decision. So he sat, he sat and he thought. Yet after walking for hours he didn’t seem to come to any decision. Or really, think of anything actually.
Except the fact that he was cold. Any lonely. And desperately wanting to crawl back to the castle with his tail between his legs and hide between Cellbit, Roier, and the Blankets of their bed.
He couldn’t though. Not yet at least. So he just sighed, setting up a campfire and sitting besides it, leaning against a nearby rock.

Roier frowned, staring across from him at the table. Quackity should be sitting there. He wasn’t. Everyone started talking at him at once when he got that book and scared him off. That was understandable, Roier wasn’t mad at Quackity about that, everyone else yes, but not Quackity.
What he was mad about was the fact that the other didn’t even answer a single message of his or Cellbit’s in the past hour. Sure some of Cellbits more, pushy questions, Roier would have also ignored. But something simple like asking if he was coming to dinner or if he was okay seemed like he could spare a simple 5 seconds typing yes or no.
Roier would even settle with a single letter! Just to confirm that he was alive and safe and not kidnapped by the federation again. That would be grand!
Okay, maybe he was being overdramatic. But could you blame him? Roier was sick and tired of being abandoned or left behind, or having people taken away from him. If Cellbit hadn’t practically dragged him to the castle to “wait” then Roier would be running around half the server getting more soaked to drag him back here.
Did he not listen to any of Roier’s multiple speeches about them doing this together? Or did he just not care. Roier knew he was being a bit ill-logical but come on. They were having a nice family moment and then the federation has to come and ruin it and then Quackity leaves before Roier can even process the information.
“Guapito, you have to eat something.” Cellbit gently called from beside him. Roier just frowned harder finally tearing his eyes away from the empty chair to his plate, half heartedly picking at it. He heard Cellbit sigh from beside him, but he said nothing.
Quackity couldn’t stomach any of his food. Something about it just felt.. Off. Eating in silence used to be the only thing he knew, Sitting in his dark kitchen mindless eating while staring off into space was his daily routine before he got kidnapped. Yet, not hearing the high pitched giggles of Richarlyson whenever Roier said practically anything, or Cellbits half dramatic half adoring sighs as he scolded or made fun of the two, was nerve wracking. Not hearing anything at all was nerve wracking. He never even talked during those family dinners and yet suddenly he felt like he needed to spill a thousand words out of his mouth, felt like he needed to turn and prod and ask a bajillion questions to keep Roier talking, to just hear something-
“Quackity?”, A voice asked from beside him. Quackity startled at it, practically scrambling to find a sword, and axe anything- only to pause when he finally took in the face in front of him.
“Oh, its you” he sighed, calming down and slumping on the ground. Charlie, Slime, walked to invade his vision.
“Well don’t sound so disappointed” Charlie teased sitting besides him, “What are you doing all the way out here?”
“Just… Thinking”
“In the rain” Slime raised and eyebrow at him, skepticism clear in his face. Quackity frowned turning his head.
“Ducks like rain.” He replied simply, echoing the words, familiar for a reason he couldn’t place.
“You never did.” Charlie said, the words bringing a sense of deja-vu along with them. Quackity didn’t comment on it, and if Charlie felt it he didn’t either. Just smile and offer Quackity some toast. Wet and soggy toast, with the avocado’s dripping off of it. If it was any other day, or if it was offered by any other person, Quackity would have curled his nose in disgust and said no. Maybe made a few snide comments.
But this day was shit, and Charlie was the one offering. So quackity just silently took the stack, eating a couple pieces before standing up.
“Goodbye Charlie” he said, not waiting for a reply before he wandered off, back to his thoughts

Chapter 13: Wilbur

Summary:

I just wanted to write Wilbur I'll be honest

Chapter Text

After he ran out of the limited food he had he shakily dragged himself over to a warpstone, fetching the last levels of exp out of his bag in order to warp to the favelas. Morning had come and went, it was midday now if Quackity had to guess. It was still raining. Quackity was beginning to get used to the idea that it might always rain like this.
For once no one was there, he didn’t know if that was entirely a good thing. He was going to take it as one, walking towards the neighborhood he built. He never did get to check it out, getting distracted by one thing or another in the past weeks. He just hoped the resources he thought he had in here hadn’t been destroyed.
He just hoped when he did run into people, they wouldn’t try and force him to be a savior on the spot. That they would at least give him a chance to explain. To decide.
Voices grew louder as he got closer to the entrance. His body tensed at them, at least until he recognized who they were from. For a moment, he didn’t believe it, quickly pulling out his comm and looking at the map, once, then twice. Then he switched to the tab list reading it over, and over, and over again till it finally clicked in his brain.
Then he was scrambling towards the entrance of the building, feet almost slipping through the wet grass but still refusing to stop as the voice got louder. His heart soaring at the first glance of brown curls. Breath catching in his throat at the guitar case.
“Oh- Quackitee! Hello! I’ve been looking for you everywhere man!” Wilbur’s voice seemed like a melody. Playing through his ears over and over again as Quackity stared in disbelief. He didn’t register when he started crying, only realizing it by the fact that Wilburs face quickly shifted into a look of concern.
The taller stepped forward, mouth opening, to say what Quackity didn’t know, and honestly didn’t care. The second Wilbur moved, Quackity was launching himself at the other, hands gripping tight onto yellow wool, burying his head into the other's shoulder.
“Wilbur” Quackity murmured, after a moment, finding comfort in how Wilbur hugged him back. God he missed Wilbur hugs. God he missed Wilbur.
“Did ya miss me that much Quackity?” Wilbur teased when Quackity pulled away from the hug. Quackity let out a snort, wiping his eyes.
“Nope, not at all!” He teased back, eyes finally leaving wilburs face to look around, spotting Tallulah, Phil, and Chayanne standing a bit behind them. Quackity crouched down smiling at Tallulah. “I know someone did though, Bet you're over the moon that this idiot is back Huh Tallulah” He asked, Smiling at the rapid nods he received.
“Yep, I felt bad for not saying anything about coming back, but seeing the surprised look on her face, and yours, was worth it. Plus she’s been having a blast showing me everything I missed huh darling.” Wilbur said, turning and picking up his girl, bouncing her once or twice. Quackity smiled at the domestic scene.
“Oh yeah, has she told you all the juicy Island gossip.” Quackity asked lighting booping the girl on the nose, beaming at the barrage of giggles that escaped her.
“I don’t know about all of it, but I have heard we apparently got married,” Wilbur said, raising an eyebrow in Quackity’s direction. Quackity’s face went red, as he let out a stream of nervous giggles.
“Technically, because of Festiva Junina rules, it was fake.” Quackity explained, hiding their smile with their hand when both Wilbur and Tallulah pouted.
“Oh come on, I was looking forward to being your husband!” Wilbur dramatically exclaimed, learning against one of the walls to complete the act. Quackity couldn’t hold back the laughter that escaped him.
“You would have to ask Cellbit and Roier about that then” Quackity commented without thinking, pausing for a moment while he registered his own words before he stood up straighter. His face went beat red as he quickly waved his hands in the air making random noises as he attempted to back peddle.
“I mean- uh because they are the only married people on the island, and probably know a lot, and uh-”
“Oh really? That's the reason” Phil jokes, stepping closer to Quackity, Chayanne laughing beside him at the duck hybrids misery. Quackity pouted wings puffing up.
“Cellbit and Roier huh? Would I be asking them because they're your best friends Quackity?” Wilbur trailed off, leaning in closer to Quackity’s space. The other man giggled, stepping back a couple steps, only to be met with hands around his waist and a head leaning on his shoulder. He glanced back a bit, eyes meeting Cellbit’s, finding Roier moving to stand next to the shortest of the group.
“Boyfriends actually Wilbur! You got competition for Quackity’s favorite on the island now! Welcome back by the way” Roier said playfully, bumping Wilburs arm and pausing to say hello to Chayanne and Tallulah. He seemed to also be over the moon at Wilbur’s return, which was a stark contrast to Cellbit, who was staring suspiciously at him.
“So he is real” He murmured after a moment. Quackity snorted, turning in his grasp to muffle his laughter against Cellbit’s chest, more joy emerging when Cellbit softened at this.
“Tough competition considering how you are Roier. I’m confident I can at least get Second over… Cellbit was it?” Wilbur said, stepping forward and extending a hand to Cellbit. Quackity raised an eyebrow at the tone, only to sigh when Cellbit matched it, leveling him a serious stare before shaking his hand.
“You’ve been gone for a while, I wouldn’t be so sure. “ The over competitive detective said, rising to the bait. Quackity smacked him with one of his wings snorting at the way he backed up and spluttered, betrayed expression taking his face.
“We are not starting a competition over my favorite when Wilbur is my best friend and you and Roier are my Boyfriends. The two are not comparable.” He complained moving away from the adults to glance at Tallulah and Chayanne. He rolled his eyes and shook his head, smirking at how even Chayanne started laughing.
Tallulah paused her giggles, rushing over to Quackity and tugging on his hand as she remembered something. Pushing him further into the building. Quackity let himself be tugged, only glancing back to confirm the rest of the group was following. He was surprised to find how clean the place looked, plants lush and well taken care of. Quackity was pretty sure half of them were dead before he left.
Tallulah came to a stop, and Quackity quickly looked forward to figure out why, and promptly froze when he took in the image in front of him.
A mural, a mural of him and Tilin.
A perfectly painted picture of him and his son, the art style immediately recognizable as Richarlysons. The sign in the corner revealing that Tallulah helped too, which became clear when he glanced at the flowers.
Quackity stepped forward, hand gently, oh so gently, reaching out and brushing against the painting, breath slowing as he took in all the details. He wondered how many pictures the two must have found, who gave them such information for them to be so detailed. For him to almost feel like his little boy was in front of them.
“Quackity?” Roier’s voice whispered from behind him. Quackity turned quickly, tilting his head to silently ask what was up. Roier paused, before hesitantly reaching up his hand, thumb brushing against the others face. Oh. He was crying again.
When did Quackity become such a Crybaby?
“Oh, lo siento.” he said turning quickly away wiping the tears before spinning around to Tallulah and Wilbur. “Thank you, its lovely. I’ll make sure to get you and Richas something as a thank you. Now come on lets go show your dad around the Island! Its his first day back and theres so much to see” Quackity said quickly striding past the others, grabbing Wilburs hand and starting to tug him out the door.
That was until Wilbur tugged him back, pulling him into a hug. Quackity stiffened against it, before relaxing and letting out a sigh, once again leaning against the other.
“I know I’ve been gone a long time, But I still mean what I said before. Say the word Quackity.” Wilbur said pulling back enough to look Quackity in the eyes. Quackity frowned, considering the words. He glanced at Roier and Cellbit, finding a questioning look in both of their eyes. He turned his head to Phil and Chayanne, finding the kid’s hand on his sword, frowning, While Phil leveled him with a look of understanding. His hand wandered to his pocket, finding the familiar weight of a book there. Of the book there.
“Thank you Will. But, revenge is already said and done” Quackity said pulling back and walking towards the entrance, Cellbit and Roier quickly following him out. Quackity paused, ignoring the two’s questions for a moment to make eye contact with Wilbur. “But, I may need your help with something else soon. Shouldn’t harm Tallulah, but.. Dangerous, if your up for it”
“If it doesn’t hurt Tallulah Quackity, I’ll help you with whatever you need.”
Quackity smiled, pulling out his way stone. “Ill talk to you in a bit Will, come on you two, lets go home” He called only pausing to confirm Roier and Cellbit were also teleporting before clicking on Cellbits Castle.

Chapter 14: Apologies and Promises

Summary:

Yeah I don't know man, Cellbit thoughts and Also just emotional hurt/comfort just cause. This chapter got away from me sorry.

Chapter Text

Cellbit had been annoyed for a while. Having his boyfriend leave out of fear without saying a damn word made him annoyed. Having the islanders start arguing or scheming on how to “convince” him to choose “correctly” made him annoyed. That damn bear not answering any of his questions made him annoyed. Going to bed without Quackity made both Roier and him sad, which made Cellbit even more annoyed. Waking up without a damn message or note was worrying and annoying.
Before Cellbit could go storming the federation building, or do something else stupid in order to protect his family again, Roier was tugging him out of their castle rapidly moving to the waystone rambling something about the Favelas.
Cellbit didn’t question it too much, just followed. Followed until he saw Quackity, and a tall British man with curly brown hair and a yellow sweater on. Cellbit recognized him from all the pictures people spread around the island. One Wilbur Soot, or as Cellbit and Jaiden liked to refer to him, Hatsune Miku.
At first Cellbit was frozen by the pure shock of him actually being a real person, and not just some myth Quackity and the others made up to fuck with the newcomers. But then the brit was leaning into Quackity’s space, a sly smile on his lips, and asked if Cellbit and Roier were his “Bestfriends”. Now, Cellbit wasn’t normally the jealous type, or at least he tried not to be, but this one time he will admit he was Jealous.
That or he was intimidated. He wasn’t completely sure what the mix of possessive jealousy and shocked attraction would be called. What he did know was that it possessed him to stride over to Quackity, sliding up behind him and wrapping his own arms around him. Slotting his head into the space between Quackity’s neck and shoulder. Where he belonged. Roier belonged right on the other side, preferably holding his hand. Maybe, if Wilbur was lucky, he could fit in a different spot. But he had to learn how Cellbit, Roier, and Quackity fit together first.
Quackity seemed amused by his antics. Cellbit felt himself soften when the other laughed into him. Smile stupidly whenever he interacted with Tallulah. He was so soft with Tallulah, Cellbit couldn’t remember the last time he’s seen him interact with the little girl, but he remembered smiling like this every time he had seen the two interact. He understood why Phil was overprotective of the girl, but he was hopeful that now that Wilbur was back Quackity could spend time with her more. He loved that girl.
He loved Richas too, which always made Cellbit feel giddy. Whenever Roier or Quackity interacted with his son Cellbit got lovey dovey. He just wanted his family to be family. Wanted them safe and happy and getting along. He hadn’t had a family since…. He couldn’t remember how long, or if he ever had one. But he had one now. The Favela Five, and Richarylson, and Quackity, and Roier, and- He felt like there was someone else. He couldn’t remember though, so he shrugged it off.
Cellbit zoned back into the current situation when Roier spoke. His voice had the same concerned tone that never meant anything good. Quackity was staring at a beautiful mural of Tilin, and crying. Cellbit stepped forward to comfort him immediately, Roier beat him to it of course. Cellbit didn’t mind that.
He did mind when Wilbur promised Quackity something that Cellbit had no idea about. Cellbit raised an eyebrow, exchanging a glance with Roier. His husband just shrugged, moving to follow Quackity when the duck hybrid moved. Cellbit did the same, sharing the same thought as his Guapito, Quackity was not escaping their side this time.
Thankfully, the other didn’t want to this time. Waiting for the two to catch up to him before warping to the Castle. Cellbit sent a glance back at Phil and Wilbur before he followed, Receiving a goodbye from Phil and a smirk and a wave from Wilbur. Cellbit frowned at the smirk, quickly wiping it off his face as he handed flowers to Tallulah and Chayanne and then warping to follow his lovers.
The two were waiting for him, Roier holding Quackity;s hand while the other fiddled with some sort of ribbon. It took Cellbit a moment to figure out what it was, and when he did he felt his heart cracking more out of sympathy.
Tilin was obviously someone important to Quackity, his kid whose death had impacted him so much. Cellbit knew that from day one. Cellbit thought he was getting better though, moving on. But maybe that was just hopeful thinking, or just Cellbit being cruel. He would go insane if Richarylson was ever gone, how could he expect the same from Quackity.
“So I was thinking we should try and figure out what we’re doing about- oh” Quackity trailed off his thought as Cellbit hugged him, the taller leaning down to bury his face in the others neck. Cellbit gripped tighter when he felt Quackity go stiff in his grip, like he didn’t expect it. Like he wasn’t used to it. Cellbit hated whenever he did that. Roier used to do it alot to, freeze or act shocked in the face of affection. Like they weren’t used to it. Like they didn’t deserve it. Cellbit had practically dumped every bit of love and affection he knew onto Roier after that, and if he had to do the same to Quackity then he would. Sounded like a good life to him.
Cellbit practically purred when Quackity raised a hand and brushed Cellbits hair back after a few minutes. Roier quietly guiding him, seemingly too fed up with the awkwardness Quackity had. Quackity smiled at the noise, bringing his other arm to pull Roier closer, the spider hybrid accepting easily.
“Suadade” Cellbit murmured after a moment. Quackity giggled in response. Gently moving the others head back so he could look at him properly.
“I was only gone for a day” Quackity’s words seemed to only upset the two more, Roier gripping his hand tighter.
“None of us knew that would be the case, Culero.” He complained, dimenor shifting as if he was suddenly reminded that he was upset. Roier tugged Quackity’s hand to get him to start walking towards the castle. Letting go the second he did to storm ahead. Quackity glanced back at Cellbit, expecting him to also shift to be angry, only to find the other following behind him perfectly, attached at the hip. Quackity didn’t know if that was better or worse.
“I mean seriously asshole, just storm away from everyone in the middle of the rain why don’t you. You're lucky you're not sneezing and sick! Y luego apagas tu ubicación y caminas Dios sabe dónde, por la noche, y no vienes a casa a cenar. ¿Qué habría pasado si un monstruo te hubiera atrapado? ¡O si Cucurucho viniera a llevarte de nuevo! What would you do then puta!” Roier continued his scolding as they walked up the castle steps, throwing towels and blankets at Quackity as he went. Cellbit caught them for the smaller, taking his time to gently dry him off and then wrap him in the blankets, only patting himself dry to ensure he wasn’t dripping.
“Lo siento-”
“Ay! Don’t lo siento me motherfucker! You should be saying sorry to your son! Who, by the way, had to be dragged by Forever to his house so he would sleep and not go searching for you. Or say sorry to mi esposo who pouted himself to sleep last night!”
“I will! But right now I’m saying sorry to my boyfriend because I upset him and caused him to worry like an asshole. So Roier, Lamento haberlos preocupado a ti y a Cellbit, te prometo que te lo diré la próxima vez en vez de volver a irte. Te amo.” Quackity said, quickly grabbing Roier’s wrist before he could go further. Roier paused turning to look at him for a few minutes with an angry look on his face. Then he sighed, the angry look being replaced with a dramatic pout as he leaned down and kissed Quackity’s cheek.
“te amo demasiado.” Roier replied, going back up the stairs to fetch something. Quackity smiled, turning towards Cellbit.
“I’m sorry I made you worry to Gatito, I love you. Next time I’ll talk first, or atleast answer my comm” Quackity met Cellbits gaze with a soft smile. The detective just nodded pressing a kiss on his nose.
“You scared me patito..... you scare me.” He murmured softly. “Your so… impulsive sometimes, and I get that I do. I get wanting to fight and scare and hurt the federation but I- I dont want you to get hurt in the process you know.” Cellbit took both of Quackity’s hands gently not meeting his eyes, instead staring at their hands. Quackity opened his mouth, as if to say something, but only closed it when nothing came out.
“Whatever you decide to do, Me and Roier will support you, and unless you ask I won’t give my opinion on this. It is your choice. Whatever you do will go well I promise. But- please. Please whatever you do don’t leave us out of it Quackity. If you do something let us- let me help you. Let me keep you safe. Let me use my brain, and all the fucked up things i learned to help. Let me protect you.” Cellbit brought one Quackity’s hands to his face, pressing it against his cheek. “Taking down the federation, proving them wrong, leaving, none of it. None of it would be worth it if its at the cost of you, Roier, and Richas. None of this will be worth it if it means sacrificing my family. I can live through this hell, I can go through worse if it means having my family with me. I can’t live in a world without you three.” Cellbit for once, didn’t hide the tears forming in his eyes. Quackity quickly moved to wipe them away, his own face a sad look of regret. But, there was a mix of disbelief in there.
“You’ve lived without me before, Just you Roier and Richas” Quackity murmured, quiet as if he didn’t want Cellbit to hear it. Cellbit did, and sobbed harder, pulling the other closer and leaning on the top of his head.
“I know. I know and I hated every second of it. And I never want to do it again. None of us ever want to do it again. Please. Por favor Quackity don’t leave me again. Eu não posso te perder novamente, Eu não posso sentar e ser inútil enquanto outro membro da minha família é levado embora. Por favor Quackity de novo não”
Quackity didn’t say anything in response, just hugged the man in front of him.
“I won’t, I promise Cellbit. Everything will be okay. We’ll get out family back” Quackity said after a few moments, hearing the steps of Roier re-entering the room. Quackity looked at him over Cellbit’s shoulder, meeting Roier’s eyes with a determined expression on his face. “Tomorrow, I’ll talk to Cucurucho, and I- We will get our family back, We will get our kids back. And no one else will get hurt. I Promise”

Chapter 15: Meeting

Summary:

Short chapter, but it's because next chapter is long fluff

Chapter Text

They stuck to their plan. Quackity waking up early, gently shaking Cellbit awake to tell him he was going to go make breakfast, before detangling himself from the mess of limbs. Cellbit had yawned, nodding sleepily before sitting up, taking a few moments to wake Roier up before he followed the other down stairs. Roier spent more time waking up, complaining about the time, only for them to get up himself and brush his hair while the food cooked.
The breakfast wasn’t fancy, but both Cellbit and Roier seemed to enjoy the food, showering the other in praise. Quackity just smiled in response, hand fiddling with the book in his hands. Moving the page back and forth. Now that he was thinking about it, the federation wasted a lot of paper, handing out new books everytime they wanted something. He should add environmental destruction to the list of their crimes, right alongside numerous human rights violations.
“Patito, calma. Your going to rip out the page if you keep messing with it” Cellbit said, coming up behind him and gently grabbing his hands, squeezing them once before taking the book from his hands, closing it and placing it on the table. Quackity gave him a weak smile.
“Lo siento,” he replied taking their dishes and washing them quickly, Cellbit glanced at Roier behind his back. But with a gentle shake of Roier’s head, he said nothing. Instead he helped clean up whatever else needed to get done, grabbing the trios jackets, handing them out.
“You ready for this?” Roier asked Cellbit as they grabbed each of their warp stones. Quackity just sighed, brushing his hand over his as it glowed purple.
“As ready as I’ll ever be.”

The train station was as empty as ever, their footsteps seemed to echo as they clacked against the floor towards the hidden warp plate. Roier silently noted how Quackity was rubbing his arms, squeezing them harder with every step they took. Cellbit similarly, got more tense the closer they got, eyes darting around, his hand hovering over his sword. Roier frowned, but stayed silent. He wasn’t going to call out his partners on their stress. After all the fear was reasonable. The trio paused in front of the warp plate, Cellbit and Quackity eyeing it fearfully. Roier took it as his chance to move in front of them, stepping on the warp plate and teleporting first, despite the others' protests. The others quickly followed, wincing simultaneously as they took in the Federation offices.
Cellbit scanned the room, looking for Cucurucho on instinct. Instead, his eyes met Foolish’s who was currently talking to what looked to be a security guard. The two froze, much like they always did in these situations. Meus Deus, this had to be the third- maybe fourth time this happened? Cellbit was ready to turn and pretend it never happened like usual, until Roier burst out laughing besides him, Quackity quieter giggles following suit.
The noise shook Foolish out of his stupor, him laughing and waving towards the trio. He grabbed the book the worker handed him flawlessly, scanning it quickly before laughing again.
“Nah, they aren’t a problem! Roier’s my son, and Cellbit works here, and Quackity- well Actually I don’t know why Quackity’s here but that's not an us problem! Come on let's leave them to their business” Foolish said, putting an arm around the workers shoulders and leading them into his own office. Roier smirked, turning to the other two, nudging Quackity before looking at Cellbit pointedly.
“And you all think he’s untrustworthy” Roier teased, rocking on his heels. Cellbit blinked a few times, still processing the events, before smiling awkwardly.
“He does like the federation.” Cellbit explained, putting his hands up. This didn’t have the effect he wanted however considering how Roier’s face shifted to a frown. Cellbit’s mind immediately jumped to try and change his wording, or defend himself, or even compliment his Father in law. All of those thoughts were dismantled however, when Quackity walked forwards, towards Cucuruchos office.
“But he’s a Family man first and foremost. I don’t think I’ll trust him with everything, but I atleast trust him with his family” Quackity said nonchalantly. Roier seemed to beam at this nodding furiously before making a sort of ‘see’ motion towards Cellbit. Cellbit bit his lip, considering the words as they walked.
Quackity knocked on the door, Refusing to press the button and walk in.
“Oi, culero, I need to talk to one of you, the funny one” He called, tapping his foot anxiously. Roier rested one of his hands against his back, going from rubbing it to hovering uncertainty, when Quackity flinched at the pressure. Before he could ask about it however, the door opened. The big white bear stepped out.
Both Cellbit and Quackity glanced at him, eyeing the bear up again. Roier hesitantly stepped forward, waving.
“Hola!” The bears voice echoed, a frying pan coming out and tapping Roier on the head. Roier laughed, rubbing the bump forming before giving a light nod to the other two. Quackity’s shoulders sagged in relief.
“Hola, I have come to a decision.” Quackity said, walking into the office when Osito motioned for him to. He glanced at the other two, turning towards Quackity with a head tilt. Quackity glanced at him confused, before nodding his head quickly. “Yeah, I want them here”
“Bien. What have you decided” The robotic voice said, sitting in Cucuruchos chair. Cellbit noted how much the two’s characteristics changed. Cucurucho always sat straight, shoulders back head up, feet firmly planted on the ground. Arms either folded in his lap or on his desk. Only moving if he needed to write and hand something to Cellbit. Osito Bimbo on the other hand, was always moving, tapping his feet on the floor and playing with the pen in his paws. Head moving back and forth as he waited. Cellbit didn’t know if that made him more or less comfortable.
“I will go with it. If we win we get the eggs back, If I fail I’ll finish helping you with whatever you want” Quackity said holding his hand out. Osito Bimbo looked at it before laughing, giving him a high five before writing on a book.
*I AM GLAD! THE FEDERATION WILL CONTACT EVERYONE WITH DETAILS SOON! THANK YOU FOR HELPING! WE PROMISE IT WILL NOT BE THE SAME AS LAST TIME! THE FEDERATION CORRECTS OUR MISTAKES!*
Quackity smiled at it nervously, nodding his head. For some reason it made him feel sick. There was definitely a hidden message in there, but he was too tired to decode it. Quackity stood up, watching the bear hesitantly as he left, Cellbit and Roier following after. They were mumbling something, about how he did good, or that they were there for him. He didn’t know. He was just tired. He stumbled over the warp plate, pausing for the other two to follow him.
Roier arrived first, grabbing him before he could move further, pulling him in for a hug. Quackity laid his head on the others shoulders, ignoring the pain on his back. Instead he just sighed, smiling up at Cellbit when the other joined them.
“You wanna go home Patito?” He asked, smoothing the other head feathers back. Quackity nodded pressing further into Roier’s shoulders. Roier smiled, Picking him up with little struggle and walking them towards the spawn warp stone. They were talking, Quackity noted. But he just sighed, closing his eyes and slumping against the spider hybrid. If it was important they could tell him tomorrow. For now, He just wanted to sleep.

Chapter Text

Quackity didn’t know when he woke up. Didn’t know if he really cared. Just knew that when he woke up he was alone in the big bed Cellbit, Roier, and him shared. He frowned, peering over the bed to see if he had knocked one, or maybe both, of them off. But nope. Nothing. Their shoes were gone from the corner, making Quackity frown harder, anxiety curling in his gut as he sat up, bringing his knees to his chest.
Were the apologies not enough? He really did mean them, every word of them. Did they leave anyways? Did Cellbit decide to leave before Quackity could hurt him? Did Roier decide he just simply wasn’t worth their time anymore? Did he upset them so much that they decided to leave their own house? Did they get kidnapped? Did he piss off the federation and they got hurt because of it? He agreed to do their experiment. Was this a part of that? What the fuck had he done wrong?
He didn’t know when he started crying, but he flinched as his own tears hit his hand, as tears ran down his face. The new sensation made him hyper aware of all the old ones, including the uncomfortable grime in between his feathers. Which made him start crying even more from the feeling. Quackity hated it when he cried. He hated being vulnerable, hated being a crybaby. But consequently, being upset at himself only made him get more emotional, which made him cry more. He huffed to himself pulling his wings closer together and gripping them, biting his lip to stop the sound that threatened to escape him.
He was fucking fine. So what if the two of them left. He didn’t need them. If they got captured then it's a big deal, the rest will get them out in the week. He was fine, he could survive being alone again, even if the thought of not being able to kiss Cellbit again made him want to scream. Even if never being able to hug Roier would be the worst possible feeling. Even if the idea of being alone was enough to make him want to crawl back into that water and die-
“Patito!?!?” Roier’s voice ripped Quackity out of his thoughts, head snapping up to meet his eyes. Quackity grimaced at the shock and concern in them.
Great, all he accomplished was making him worry again.
Quackity quickly wiped his eyes, sitting up straighter and trying to force a smile on his face, knowing the act was futile but still choosing to do it anyways. He ignored the way his wings still itched, ignored the way some had been rustled even worse when he was gripping at them, and he definitely ignored the fact that his mouth tasted like blood.
“Hola, Buenos dias,” Quackity said easily, sliding his legs over to the side of the bed, eyes looking anywhere but at Roier’s face when the other ran over to expect him. He let the other move his face as he liked, knowing he could do nothing to conceal the tear marks that ran down it. Roier frowned, thumbing over them. Then he froze. Quackity cautiously looked up, glancing at where Roier was staring.
Ah, he was looking at his wings. Quackity snapped them back behind his back, hiding the mess of them. The movement made him wince as some of the grime shifted around in his feathers. Roier frowned, eyes shifting back to Quackity.
“Jaiden, Phil, Or Baghera?” He asked, reaching out to thumb at Quackity’s hand. Quackity froze, squeezing Roier’s hand before staring at him questioningly.
“What do you mean?”
“Which one are you comfortable coming over to help with your wings? Me and Cellbit could try if you want to, but I think one of the other Avians will work best. Or I can go wake up Wilbur, if you prefer.”
“My wings are fine-”
“Quackity they are causing you discomfort. That's not fine. I’m either calling someone to help or I’m doing it myself. Not what do you prefer” Roier said, voice stern to leave no room for arguments. Quackity paused for a minute, before letting out a snort giggling into his other hand. Roier stared at him confused.
“You got that mother scolding down huh pendejo” Quackity jokes, bursting out in laughter when Roier dramatically scrunched up in offense, lightly hitting Quackity’s arm.
“Answer the question culero!”
“Ok ok… just.. Give me my communicator.” Quackity said, reaching for his comm with a sigh. Roier sat down next to him reading over his shoulder. Quackity paused for a minute scrolling through the contacts. Before he just let out a sigh and went to the global chat.
Quackity: Muffin Circle @ Cellbit’s castle, 30 minutes.
Quackity: I Expect good food Bad.
“Muffin circle?” Roier questioned, Quackity let out a long sigh.
“Bad named it, don't ask me why we let him, or why we still go with it.” Quackity complained watching the confusion from most of the island. Tapping his foot nervously the longer he went without an answer from one of the normal participants. Maybe none of them would want to-
Ph1Lza: Omw mate,
Slimecicle: surprised you're suggesting it usually one of us gotta bully you.
WilburSoot: 10 bucks said someone did.
FoolishG: OMW
FoolishG: BRINGING JAIDEN AND TINZA IF THAT'S FINE
Quackity groaned at the interaction, burying his face in Roier’s shoulder. Roier just laughed, patting his head. The two paused, hearing footsteps up the stairs, turning to see Cellbit walking in, balancing three cups of Coffee. Roier quickly got up to take his and Quackity from the other, giving him a kiss on the cheek. Quackity smiled at the scene.
“What's this about people coming to my castle?” Cellbit asked following Roier back to the bed. He leaned down and pressed a kiss to Quackity’s forehead, pausing when he pulled back and noticed the obvious sign of tears as well.
“Our Patito’s wings are all dirty and he’s not feeling well so he invited some to come help, I’m not entirely sure who specifically is coming or why.” Roier piped up before Cellbit could ask any further questions, handing Quackity his drink. Cellbit let out a small noise in understanding, pressing more kisses to the younger. Quackity smiled before gently pushing him away taking a sip of his coffee.
“It should be Phil, Charlie, Wilbur, Bad, Foolish, and maybe Tubbo and Niki. Plus if they bring anyone new along.”
“Any reason them specifically?” Roier said, raising an eyebrow.
“We used to live close by. It's hard to remember all of it, especially now, but Bad’s been refreshing our memory on some things. Including the fact that we used to have little ‘get together’ days when we would just eat snacks gossip while me and Phil took care of our wings. I- I know its odd.. And honestly I don’t expect all of them to remember or even care enough to show up, just the four that responded is more than I thought but… I just didn’t know who else to ask if I’m honest.” Quackity said with a shrug. “Maybe Luzu but he hasn’t been here for forever…”
Roier and Cellbit glanced at each other. Quackity raised an eyebrow confused on what mental communication was being exchanged there, when suddenly the alert system chimed, many times. Quackity stood up, putting on one of his beanies and a jacket before walking towards the balcony overlooking the dining room, the other two following behind.
“Jesus this place is huge!” Wilbur's voice chimed as he passed through the outside entrance, Tallulah gently leading the way , Chayanne Tubbo and Phil behind him. A couple steps back Quackity spotted Pac and Fit engaged in conversation.
“Yeah I think Foolish helped build it, so you should be glad it isn’t bigger.” Phil joked, picking up Chayanne. An Offended shout caused the whole group to turn around, Foolish storming in with Bad and their kids.
“Hey I can build small! Big things are just more fun”
“Yeah that mindset is why you’ve spent 3 months on a Titan” Tina teased, walking in behind him. The group exploded in laughter at the noise Foolish made out.
Quackity snorted into his hand before clearing his throat.
“Stop Standing around! You know the drill Phil and Wilbur come here the rest of you go
make food to appease us and Tubbo starts coming up with the first topic of gossip.” He called clapping his hands together. The kids exchanged looks before giggling, Leo popping down a sign claiming that *Senor Quackity es Back* before running up the stairs to hug Roier and Cellbit.
The others did as told, Tubbo moving back to Fit and Pac, in order to organize the gossip topics of the night, dragging mouse into the Circle. Phil had waved Jaiden over, explaining the activities to her as they made their way to Cellbits bedroom. Quackity has grabbed spare towels, handing them to the others as they made their way back towards the main area of the castle, arranging them on a floor. The second they were laid down properly Wilbur was tugging Quackity’s jacket forcibly making him sit down.
“Come on Q, lets see the damage” He teased, sitting down next to him. Quackity puffed up in response. Causing laughter out of the rest of the smaller group as they sat next to him.
“They aren’t that bad” Quackity pouted, pulling his jacket off. His pout worsened when Phil and Jaiden let out simultaneous disapproving noises from beside him. He turned around, defensively, only to pause when he realized how nice Jaidens wings were. Pretty and Brushed out, only a few pieces of dirt here and there. He sighed, spreading his wings out more turning his back to Wilbur so they can start.
“Mate, when's the last time you tried to preen these?” Phil asked, waving the eggs over and guiding Tallulah into helping, with Quackity’s permission of course. He was fine with Tallulah helping, knowing that when Phil had his wings he had taught Chayanne and her how to properly take care of them. Hell Quackity would gladly teach any of the eggs how to preen, rather they accidentally mess up his already ruined wings then hurt someone else’s.
“I was stuck underwater for months, got out, and immediately got thrown into the island's bullshit. So Guess” Quackity grumbled, biting his tongue when Wilbur accidently pulled too hard on twig at his confession. Phil hit his son for it anyway. No more questions were asked, the two instead focusing on cleaning out the wings and helping Tallulah learn some tricks. Jaiden occasionally chiming in, or handing Phil something when asked. Quackity didn’t comment on the domesticity, none of them ever did.
Footsteps and chatter signaled the others finished their tasks, Foolish and bad immediately entering with goods. Quackity noted the usual array of muffins, cookies, toast, and nachos that Bad made with very little input from the others. But he was also pleasantly surprised to find Macarons, Pan Dulce, Empanadas, and Beijinho de Coco. Quackity's immediate guess was Chayanne, who gladly took credit for the Macarons and bread based goods, but pointed to Foolish for the other two more latin treats.
“You made these”Quackity asked, taking an empanada and biting down on it, tasting the apple filling immediately. Foolish laughed making a so so motion with his hands. Leo, who had just ran down the stairs with her Brother and Brother in law, immediately tugged at his arm asking to be picked up. Foolish complied, settling her on his hip before responding.
“Leo made the recipes for me, with help from Vegetta. They were going to be a surprise for Roier and Cellbit’s Anniversary but I figured this was as good a time as then to try them out. That and Bad started being a little bitch about me not helping” Foolish said settling down on the floor across from Quackity, setting Leo down next to him. Cellbit reached for one of the Beijinhos, eating it cautiously, before practically shoving it in his mouth and getting another.
“Oh my god these are good, oh Forevers gonna be so pissed when he hears I finally have a good source of treats” Cellbit cheered to himself around one, glaring at pac when the other stole one from him, only to laugh when the Smaller stuck his tongue out at him.
“You mean that we have a good source of treats” Pac said, quickly grabbing three more before scurrying back to Fit and Tubbo, distributing the goods. Cellbit hissed playfully.
“He’s my Father in law”
“And you owe me! Therefore you share the goods for the rest of time Cellbit”
“I don’t Owe you! Why would I-” Cellbits sentence was cut off by Pac widely gesturing towards his prosthetic, causing the detective to quickly snap his jaw shut eyeing it sheepishly before turning to Foolish. “So yeah when or if you make another batch make sure to make two ok, thanks so much” he continued, causing the group to burst out in laughter.
Roier, who had been too busy shoving food in his mouth to defend his husband finally spoke, laying against Quackity before turning to his adopted father.
“You are officially in charge of making desserts when you give Me, Cellbo, and Quackity our party pa” Roier cheered, grabbing another piece of toast. Quackity froze, before groaning intently, burying his face in his hands. He ignored the complaints of Wilbur about messing up his wings more.
“Party?”
“Yeah because Quackity is- ohh wait” Roier paused, slowly turning his head to his two partners with a sheepish grin. “We never said, did we ?”
“Roier you are lucky Wilbur knows what he is doing because if I was even slightly less relaxed right now I would strangle you” Quackity said into his hands, enjoying the chorus of laughter from the group, along with the confused noises of Foolish.
“Can we tell them?” Cellbit said, scooting closer to the two. Quackity paused, glancing at the group around them. He didn’t really know how they would feel, how they would react. Part of him wanted to keep the secret close to his chest, afraid someone would use it against him, or ruin what they had. But… At the same time, these were the people he trusted to see his wings. To share gossip and bullshit too. To destress too. Yeah they don’t always agree, hell half of what he remembered of these people off the island was them arguing. But at the end of the day they always made sure he somewhat took care of himself.
So, Quackity nodded.
“Perfecto! Quackity’s our boyfriend!” Roier said casually, Cellbit sighed from beside them laughing quietly. Quackity just let out another sigh brushing some of the hair out of the other's face before leaning more into Wilbur’s preening.
The room was silent for a few seconds, before the group burst out into various noises. Congratulations, confused shouting, teasing, the works. Fit and Pac were chanting something about Fofoca, Foolish was exclaiming betrayal to Leo since they had kept a secret from him, Bad was just laughing at Foolish. The works. The atmosphere was anything but Quiet and calm, and yet, Quackity was completely relaxed. He smiled constantly as he watched the scene, listening as the topic shifted and jumped from one conversation to another.
It was chaos. But, The people of this island thrived in Chaos.
“Well, Welcome to the Family then I Guess” Foolish said near the end of the banter, when the night was winding down, and the food was gone. Quackity stared at him smiling nervously.
“Is this when you point a gun at me?” He asked with a giggle. Some of the newer islander let out shocked exclamations at the sentence. The older ones, only laughed in response, shaking their heads.
“Nah, Cellbit only got that treatment because of what he did at Festiva Junina. But like, I’m sure you know consequences will come with certain actions right Q?” Foolish joked waving his hand in a casual motion. Quackity raised an eyebrow, glancing at Bad, who had straightened and had a smirk on his face at the others' words. Foolish always had double meanings in his sentences, casual words hid threats and random phrases revealed his true intentions. Quackity was far from understanding those meanings, or correctly guessing them. But he at the very least, knew that a single glance at Bad could confirm that the words did have meanings woven into them.
“Right… Honestly, Foolish. If I do hurt them, either of them, I deserve whatever consequences you have for me” Quackity said, ignoring the looked his partners gave him. Foolish smiled shaking his head before patting Quackity’s head.
“Okay! Well. I’m glad to see the family expand. I’m sure with you in it it's only gonna get bigger” Foolish said, before his eyes widened and he started rambling “WAIT I mean that in like the what the federation has planned type of way- listen I’m bad at words but-”
The group cut him off with the rounds of laughter, leaning against each other. Quackity smiled, glancing at the group around them. Nodding silently to himself, next time, they should invite the rest of the islanders.
They were a part of the family after all.

Chapter Text

Family was ever changing on this island, Roier noted. Not in the sense that families grew smaller, although sadly that happened sometimes too, but more commonly it was the opposite. Families growing and becoming bigger as more people joined.
Roier knew this first hand, hell he was walking proof of it. Having no family besides him Jaiden and Bobby and his grandpa that was neve around at the start of the island, to now having a husband, a boyfriend, sister, two papa's, and Richarlyson. He loved his family to death, and would do anything to make them happy.
Hence why he is so conflicted about their current situation. Bagi, who had joined the island a couple days ago. Was apparently his sister in law. At Least according to an old diary.
And personally, Roier was thrilled to have someone to tease Cellbit with! His husband, however, was not happy with his new sister.
And he couldn't entirely blame him, cellbit didn't know anything about the other. And they already were so busy dealing with Quackity’s plan, his gatinho was stressed. But he also feels like maybe he could be a bit nicer, especially when his sister was trying to help them.
“Just let me see it! I'll figure it out-” Bagi complained, reaching over the table to try and pull at the code Cellbit had. It had showed up at their doorstep that day, and Cellbit had immediately corralled his partners to the Order to figure it out. Bad and Bagi had come in once they realized where the three were at, and immediately started fussing over it as well.
“I told you I have it! Why don't you find something else to do!” Cellbit practically hissed, pushing his chair back to hold the file over his head. Roier heard Quackity groan from beside him, pushing his head into the others shoulder at the fighting. Roier laughed, patting him on the back sympathetically.
“They really are twins aren't they” Quackity complained, pouting at Roier. Roier just smiled, pressing a kiss onto his forehead.
“si, equally smart and stubborn twins apparently. Shame that Someone hasn't realized to just play nice” Roier raised his voice at the last sentence, sending a pointed glare to his husband, who visibly deflated.
“I can do this by myself-”
“but you don't have to, and it's easier if you don't. Aren't you the one that was telling me to not do stuff by myself” Quackity complained, sitting up and crossing his arms at cellbit. The detective dropped his hand, allowing Bagi to steal the file, but still complained.
“well yeah but-”
“But nothing, we probably have a few more days till we actually get to do the egg challenges Cellbit, so for the love of god please get along with your twin! Por favor gatinho we are tired of the arguing! Just let Bagi do it and come back to the castle so we can cuddle” Roier complained, scooping Quackity up and saying goodbye to the others before going back to the castle.

Despite how much he wanted to, cellbit didn't follow. Instead he sighed. Grabbing the file back from Bagi and working on it in silence. Ignoring her and Bad until they left. He groaned once they did, burying his face in his hands. He had too much on the line, too much of the family he already knew on the line, to start trusting a whole new one.

A clock keeps ticking no matter who is around to hear it. In the same way, trees fall regardless of if anyone was there to witness it. But in both cases, the ticking or the falling was caused by something, nature or mechanics, or human intervention.
Cellbit had no idea what or who could have caused a giant arena to spring out of nowhere, and in all honesty he wasn’t sure he wanted to know.
The arena sat on the top of a desert, stone bricks standing out against the pale sand and blue sky. Cellbit didn’t know when it had appeared exactly , it had to be some time during the few days His husbands were begging him to spend time with Bagi. Foolish and Bad has apparently “Stumbled across the structure”, their tone made Cellbit disbelieve the accuracy of that statement but he chose to ignore it. Instead he ran his hands up and down the walls, both memorizing any crack and looking for clues hidden beneath the surface. In the background he could hear Bagi chatting with Bad behind him, pausing every so often to glance at the other (Cellbit could feel her eyes staring into the back of his head, he didn’t know why she kept looking at him so intensely but it was starting to tick him off).
“Find anything yet?” Foolish asked coming up behind him. Cellbit turned to face him, noting how Foolish had settled himself in a spot that perfectly blocked Bagi’s view, and smiled at the other shaking his head.
“Seems to be just normal walls” He said, choosing to ignore the way Bagi stepped to look at him again. “Not even a way to enter, seems like another one of those things we have to wait around for more.”
“I hate waiting.” Bad whined, leaning against Foolish’s shoulder, Foolish glared before bumping him off. Bad only leaned into his space more at the discouragement. Cellbit snorted at the two’s dynamic, shaking his head slightly as he turned to Bagi. She didn’t try to hide her staring, instead seemingly straining up and grinning as she stepped forward, invading his space. Cellbit let her, but narrowed his eyes slightly when she bumped his shoulder.
“Well, we might as well take this time to talk things out then, if there isn’t anything to do but wait.” She said, stretching out her words. Cellbit groaned in annoyance, immediately turning to Foolish and Bad for help. He knew exactly what she meant, the whole siblings' things. Cellbit had enough on his plate to worry about the fact that he now has an older twin he couldn’t remember anything about. But apparently his sister (The name felt weird to even think about) didn’t feel the same.
“Come on, family bonding time would be good for you two” Bad piped up, noticing Cellbit’s discomfort and instead choosing to betray the other (no Cellbit wasn’t just being over dramatic, this was betrayal). Foolish snorted at the way Cellbit glared at Bad, before he glanced between Bagi and Cellbit with a small frown on his face.
“Yeah, I know you're a bit in denial still, but I promise that if we just talk about it we can work everything out.” Bagi said, grabbing Cellbit’s arm and smiling at him. The detective just grimaced, pulling his arm away. Something pulled at his heart strings when Bagi’s face dropped in return, but both of the twins seemed to ignore the sadness that threatened to bubble up since Bagi only got more determined, leaning more into the others space.
“Alright, well… looks like you guys are having a moment, so I’m just gonna” Foolish said, backing up towards the waystone. Cellbit quickly snapped his head around, eyes wide as they locked with Foolish’s. The younger was suddenly very desperate to get out once he realized that if the totem left, that was his only escape plan possible.
Apparently Foolish realized that too since he paused in his steps biting his lip in hesitation before slapping a quick grin on his face happy go lucky posture returning as he faced the trio.
“But also, that drink offer is still on the table if you want Cellbit. Just whenever you're not busy so, if you need something-”
“I’m not busy! Drinks are good, I had something I needed to ask you anyways- Sorry Guys maybe next time!” Cellbit said quickly catching up with the totem and moving the two towards the waystone. Foolish laughed in response, only pausing to direct Cellbit to warp to his tower, before leaving.
Cellbit didn’t stick around long enough to hear the others' response, moving after Foolish quickly. He didn’t question where the other was going when they turned towards Leo’s Tostada shop instead of the tower, just quickly followed in tow of the other.
“Obrigado Foosh, I know i gotta talk to her eventually but I’m kinda already dealing with alot so-” Cellbit paused his sentence when they reached the pond, smiling at the site of Leo knelt by the water, talking softly to the Axolotls. He really did love his sister in law, most thought she was a standard Tomboyish kid who just stuck to her family, and while that was true she was so much more. Cellbit smiled easily, spotting one of the others' many hats beside them, his tail flicking back and forth as he sat nicely. Leo was so kind, and sweet. A bit spoiled sure but Cellbit couldn’t blame their parents for spoiling him, she was so cute it was hard not to.
“There we go, sit right here” Foolish snapped the other out of his thoughts, gently guiding him towards a chair they had set up. “Leo, me and your cuñado are gonna talk over here, just hit me with a snowball or something if you need anything ok Mi Princessa?” Foolish said gently, pausing to kneel down and talk to the other, giggling when Leo just nods waving to Cellbit before going back to her pets.
“Here” Foolish said, handing Cellbit a bottle of wine, before sitting down next to him, soft smile on his face. Cellbit blinked at the wine before smirking, opening it and pouring himself a glass.
“Where did you find something like this? I could never find any good brands of wine around here” Cellbit asked, taking a sip. Foolish shrugged in lieu of an answer, shark teeth on full display as he grinned at the detective.
“You doing alright Cellbit?” Foolish asked after taking a sip of his own drink, some kind of vodka mixture that made Cellbit widen his eyes. He knew that the other could handle his alcohol well but still, it was only 4pm.
“I… I mean as well as I can be.” Cellbit replied eyes wandering off to the side to stare at his sister in law instead of the other. He felt like he was getting picked apart. Something about the way Foolish was looking at him, like he was being analyzed, made his skin crawl. The only other time he was really nervous around his father in law was when he had asked for permission to date Roier, and even then that was a different type of nervousness. Right now he felt like the other was seeing parts of him he himself didn’t know was there.
“That's good. Sometimes all you can do is keep pushing forward. I’m glad your surviving man, I was kinda worried how you would handle it when Quackity left you and Roier that night. Or how you would react to.. Well everything that's going on with him. You did better than I thought though. Your always resilient like that”
“How did you think I would react?” Cellbit titled his head, turning to look back at Foolish quizzically. The other gave a small shrug, biting his lip in consideration before speaking.
“Just, well… different. I know how its feels to see a partner leave and not be able to follow after. Obviously that situation was different and all but…” He trailed off glancing towards Leo nervously, a smile still on his face. But, this time Cellbit saw how the smile didn’t quite reach his eyes. How his hands started fidgeting with his straw, mindlessly stirring his drink around. Cellbit frowned.
“Vegetta leave again?” He asked. Foolish just nodded. “I’m sorry Foosh-”
“It's fine. I’ll wait. I’m good at being patient. Now back to the actual topic, how you feel about the whole Bagi thing.” Foolish blurted out quickly. Cellbit almost didn’t notice how quick he was to change the topic, the other was always good at hiding his feelings like that. Despite feeling the need to push the other, Cellbit knew it wouldn’t work. So he sighed taking another sip of his drink.
“I just… Do you think she’s telling the truth?”
“Why would she lie?”
“I dont know- What if shes like sent from the federation to get me to trust her and then boom they kidnap Roier and Quackity right under my noses and stab me in my sleep” Cellbit said, waving his hands around animatedly. Foolish laughed, spitting out a bit of his drink in shock before he started wheezing. The loud noise caused Leo to glance at the two, quickly putting on their wide eyed dog head, which caused both adults to burst out laughing again.
“That's Crazy! Like No that would be sick- but crazy! I don’t think that's where the plot is going, Cellbit” He squeezed out between wheezes. Cellbit couldn’t help himself, laughing alongside him. Slapping his hand on the arm of his chair as the two laughed. Leo, sensing the joy, quickly stood and waddled towards the two, jumping in her dads arms and nuzzling him to get him to laugh more.
“It- it could be possible” Cellbit argues, after getting control of his laughter again. Foolish shook his head light heartedly, wiping tears out of his eyes and adjusting his grip on leo, bringing his kid up in his lap.
“Listen, Cellbit, thats insane. But if it does become true then I’ll be there for whatever you need. So don’t worry about it!” Foolish said scooting his chair to wrap his arm around Cellbit. Cellbit smiled, snorting when Leo nodded aggressively, standing on his dad’s lap to pat Cellbit’s head in comfort.
“I- thank you. It means alot” Cellbit said after a moment, leaning into the touch. He never had a family, not until he got on this island. But this, god Cellbit never wanted to get rid of this. The only thing that could make this better would be-
“There you are! Pendejo had us looking around half the fuckin island for you!” Quackity’s voice broke the silence, the three of them turning back to see him and Roier running down the steps to make their way towards the other. Richarlyson was on Roier’s back waving cheerily tugging on his Dad’s sleeves to be put down so he could run to his Grandma and Leo.
“Oh would you look at that! The whole Family’s here” Foolish said cheerily squeezing Richas before handing him and leo off to Cellbit, Getting up to Hug Roier and Quackity, the latter looked surprised at the action but quickly melted into the touch letting the older drag him towards the table.
“I’ll go get you two some drinks yeah? Lets enjoy the rest of the night.” Foolish said getting up and going back towards the tower. The others let him smiling. Tomorrow, something would happen, they were sure of it. But tonight. Tonight Cellbit would let himself relax, he was with his family after all.

(and maybe after tomorrow is done, maybe, just maybe he would go talk to Bagi)

Chapter 18: The Arena

Summary:

The real challenge, is about to begin.

Chapter Text

Everyone on the island heard the noise. It seemed to shake the foundation of everything as it bounced off walls and trees, waking up even the sleepiest of eggs within seconds.
Spawn became a jumbled mess of commotion, warpstone sounds mixing in with panicked chatting as people popped up one by one in a panic. It was reminiscent of when it first started raining on the island, and yet this time there was a suspicious tint of the air already. Everyone knew what was happening, yet all too scared to be the first to voice it. Too scared to truly say what they were all thinking.
Today was the day, All or nothing. If they fail this, then it was over. And if they win, best friends, families will be reunited. If they won the island would be whole again. The thought was as exciting as it was devastating.
Quackity was the last to arrive, taking a moment to hide his shaking and panicked breathing before teleporting. Roier spotted him instantly when he arrived, moving to his side in an instant. Quackity leaned into the quick embrace he gave him before letting out a sigh, clapping his hands together in the same manner he used as a teacher. Getting the attention of everyone.
“Alright, Leave the eggs at the hotel or their house, as long as it's reinforced and safe doesn’t matter. Then we can go to the maze Foolish and Bad found, you guys placed a Sharestone right?” Quackity asked, turning towards Badboyhalo, who nodded sharply, pushing dapper and pomme towards the waystone so they can warp to the hotel. The others quickly did the same, Richarlyson pausing to hug Quackity before leaving. Quackity gave him a smile, trying to calm his nerves.
“You really think we’re going to get back the dead eggs?” Maximus questioned, staring at Quackity with a skeptical but hopeful expression. Quackity knew how he must feel, hopeful at the pure chance of getting his child again, but fear at failing once more. Looking around he could spot others feeling the same as he did, Jaiden and Roier glancing at each other constantly, too scared to voice their own grief but both trying to comfort the others. Quackity could even Spot Slimecicle and Mariana, hanging out in the back of the crowd, for once not arguing, instead just staring at Quackity in silence.
“I think this is the best chance we have” Quackity murmured after a moment rubbing his own arm. He froze when a hand intertwined with his glancing up to find Cellbit as his side, giving him a comforting smile.
“We will get them back, we won’t stop until we do, I promise” The detective’s voice was so much more confident than Quackity. He couldn’t help but feel useless at that, this was Quackity’s mission, Quackity’s turn to finally prove he wasn’t a deadbeat dad, and yet here Cellbit was having to actually act like a leader. Quackity hated it, but at the same time his novio put the duck hybrid at ease. Knowing he wasn’t alone, that Cellbit wouldn’t let Quackity take the blame for this, wouldn’t be angry at him if they failed. Knowing that he wasn’t forced to suffer by himself, it was a comfort Quackity wasn’t allowed before, but was forever thankful for now. Quackity nodded once, gently squeezing his hand before turning towards the red sharestone. He spotted the name bad put down instantly, titled “Potential Egg Challenge”. Quackity paused, hands hovering above the name before he clicked it, finding comfort in how many followed immediately after.
“We stay as a group, there's enough of us that even if they try to split us up we can wiggle our way into groups of 3 or four. So pick a couple people to stay close to no Matter what” Forever explained, slipping into his president role once more, instantly walking over to Baghera and Bad. Roier grabbed Jaiden’s hand before walking over to Quackity and Cellbit, the others splitting up to their own groups.
Like expected, the Arena was open when they arrived, inside pictures of the dead eggs accessories were hung on the walls like banners. Workers lined the seats, little observers in an arena, like fans gathering around to watch a sports game. The thought brought a bitter taste to Quackity’s mouth, eyeing them, spotting a few he recognized, a few he never wanted to see again. Glancing to his side he saw Cellbit sharing the same disgusted sentiment as him, eye scanning across the arena with a glare, the man scowling harder when Tubbo had run up to one of the walls to talk to a worker dressed in blue, some of the others following suit to try and speak to these people. Quackity just turned away from them trying to take in the other details of the room.
He paused when Foolish slid up beside him, not saying a word, or acknowledging the others existence, just staring ahead with a bright grin on his face. Before Quackity could even try and talk to him however, he felt two items be slid into his pocket, heavy and distinct. His hands moved to it instantly, feeling them uncertain before quickly burying them deeper into his jacket, ensuring they wouldn’t fall out.
A gun and ammunition. Foolish just gave him a gun and ammunition, very rare, very illegal, and very deadly items. His job would be ruined if he got caught, if the federation knew what Foolish had just given him, god knows what they would do. He did it so bravely to, in front of all these workers, all of his own coworkers. Quackity tried to hide his grin, his now excited buzzing, glancing at the other. He was waving at some federation guards, grinning like he had done nothing wrong. The totem walked towards them freely now that he had delivered his present, using his other hand to send a quick whisper to Quackity. Quackity smiled, turning to Cellbit before opening it, letting the other read the secret.
*FoolishG whispered to you: Better aim well and get my grandkids back Q, Or atleast make Cucurucho regret fucking with Roier’s heart again*
Quackity shook his head, smiling at Cellbits intrigued look, giggly gently before putting his communicator away.
“Quackity, whats the plan here? '' Wilbur said, walking up to the group. Quackity wasn’t sure if he would make it, even with the promise Quackity had good reason to doubt him. But the Brit made him relax further, confidence starting to settle in his gut for once, Quackity shrugged turning and facing the center as Cucurucho came to stand in a little balcony in the middle of the arena, lights suddenly sparking up around them. He heard Roier curse beside him, following the hybrids line of sight to see El Quackity behind the bear, arms crossed, an expression Quackity couldn’t make out on his face.
“We do whatever it takes to get the eggs back. Or die trying”

Chapter 19: Task 1

Summary:

I dislike writing fight scenes, yet set up a fight scene

Chapter Text

“Welcome residents, to what is for some of you, the most important day of your life.” El Quackity started, walking closer to the railing, arms raised in a grand gesture. Cellbit rolled his eyes, sighing. ElQuackity was always a fan of dramatics, during the elections it was gaudy and annoying. Now, Cellbit supposed it was just part of how El Quackity was. He accepted that.
Didn’t mean he was annoyed he was treating this like a goddamn gameshow.
“Today, you all will go through a series of 4 tests, gathering a item in each one. Please listen to this carefully, it will only be said once” Cucurucho’s robotic voice echoed across the arena. Grating at Cellbit’s ears. He hoped that ElQuackity would be explaining the rest of this. At Least that bastard sounded human. Sure he disliked that he sounded like Quackity, but Cellbit would rather listen to a clone Quackity talk for hours then that stupid bear.
Thankfully, ElQuackity did start talking again, his eyes locking with cellbits as he spoke.
“The first, will be a fight, you will all work together to try and survive multiple mobs. If anyone gets knocked they will be eliminated and not able to help you with the rest of the trials. You need to gather 12 ethereal spirits before moving on. Next you will have to pick 4 members to complete a parkour course, grabbing a Void Worm eye from each chest at the top. Third you will go through a maze, any person that does not get out in 25 minutes will be eliminated. Only one of you have to grab the gem in the middle and escape, so don’t all worry about finding the item. The final task-”
“Will be revealed when you reach it” Cucurucho cut ElQuackity off. The Duck hybrid looked at them confused, like this wasn’t part of the script. But a quick laugh from the bear wiped the expression off his face, him quickly turning back to face the front. Cellbit noted the way his hands gripped the railing, how his feathers subtly ruffled. Before, Cellbit would have been confused at the feathers motions. But spending so much time with His Quackity had taught him on thing, it was if their feathers get ruffled, then your in for a angry fuckin duck.
Still, Elquackity did nothing, Just smiled at the contestants, clapping his hands together. Waving his hands at two of the federation workers, who moved towards three doors, getting ready to open them. ElQuackity paused, for a minute, and Cellbit instantly recognized that scheming face. The gears turning in his head.
“Oh also, the federation grants the use of any Weapons, Guns, netherite, anything you have on you currently. After all your success in the mission is what we want! Now have fun” ElQuackity said, laughing as he quickly turned and left the box. Cellbit felt joy bubbling up in his chest at the way Cucuruchos head snapped towards him as he left, Reveling in how whatever words he tried to say was drowned out at the cheers of the people around him.
He heard a gunshot immediately. His eyes snapped to foolish, expecting to find a gun in hand, only to find him leaning against the wall, smiling at him. His father in law shook his head slightly, instead nodding in cellbit’s direction, trying to get him to look behind him. Cellbit did, eyes widening when he saw Quackity and Roier both with guns in hand, twirling them cheerfully.
Cellbit had little time to process this however, as instantly the gates opened up, groans and screams of mobs filling their eyes instantly. Cellbit heard a shout, snapping his eyes to find Bagi instantly being swarmed by mobs, not expecting the wall she was standing by to also open up and produce mobs. Without thinking he rushed forward, grabbing Bagi’s arm and pulling her away from the mobs, stabbing a knife into the eye of a Nightmare Stalker, the beast revealing itself after taking the damage. He went to grab his sword, ready for a long fight, only for the wolf like creature to be sliced in half, a scythe ripping through its flesh. Cellbit blinked in surprised, watching it disappear, revealing Tina on the other side of the weapon. She let it drop to her side instantly, rushing past Cellbit to Bagi, checking over her.
Cellbit let them have their moment for once, holding off the mobs till the two decided to pay attention to the fight again. He found himself surprised in how well Tina handled her Scythe, a animalistic sort of glint taking over their eyes whenever a mob got to close to Bagi, whenever she heard the other so much as yelp in surprise. Cellbit never really cared for the twos relationship before, part of him wanting to be protective over his sister, and the other not wanting another thing to worry about. He realized now that he didn’t have to worry or be protective, Tina was the perfect partner for his sister.
He smiled, checking that they were alright one last time before turning back to the others, finding that the mobs had already dwindled to only a few of the big ones. The relief he felt seeing Quackity and Roier without a scratch was indescribable. Roier even had a vicious glint in his eyes, Gunshots firing rapidly as he held off any mobs that dared get close to the two. Looking around the arena, their numbers had also dropped. Yet, all the parents of a dead egg remained, along with a handful of other islanders.
Cellbit slashed his sword against a mob, gathering an ethereal spirit from it, and rejoiced as the doors suddenly closed, green lights popping out from the ground as a little sound played. He moved over to his partners, wrapping an arm around Quackity and pressing a healing potion into any wounds he had. Turning to offer another one to Roier, only for the younger to shake his head gesturing to his practically woundless body with a grin. Cellbit smiled back easily.
“Ayy Good job Guapito,” Cellbit said with a whistle, kissing the others cheek. The spider hybrid preened, taking the offered potion and using it to clean and heal Cellbit’s wounds instead. He glanced around doing a headcount, they had a decent group, this would be fine. He glanced over to where he last saw Foolish, finding him leaning against one of the walls, Jaiden helping him bandage a gash across his leg. He bumped Roier, causing both him and Quackity to glance at where he was staring. Roier made a noise seeing his Fathers state, getting up to pass him a potion, only to pause freezing in his tracks.
A Federation worker, a federation guard had slinked over to the wall where the two were positioned against, leaning over the railing to try and hand a gapple to Foolish, despite having no face it was clear the worker was concerned, worried even. Foolish just glanced up and smiled, taking the Gapple and biting into it, exaggeratedly pushing himself off the wall and showing off his muscles, pretending as if the Gapple had fixed him immediately. He stumbled however, one of his feet catching in the sand and starting to send him backwards, Cellbit immediately took a step forward darting to help, only to slow down when two blurs of colors rushed past him. Both Quackity and Bad appearing behind the other to help Jaiden steady him, Bad already scolding the totem hybrid instantly pushing the Gapple back in his mouth so he can eat the rest of it. Quackity positioned himself between the totem and the worker, his wings puffing threateningly, yet he didn’t immediately attack the worker, just stare at him suspiciously before turning back to the other, ensuring his safety.
Foolish just laughed, shaking his head and brushing them all off, waving goodbye to the guard again before moving towards the middle where everyone else was, awaiting the next task. Cellbit eyed the guard, noting silently how it’s gaze lingered on Foolish, how he seemed to sulk as the other left, turning to the rest of workers.
Interesting, Cellbit would have to investigate it later. For now, however he will focus on the task at hand.
The screen flashed, turning a shade of red, white text appearing on the screen.
*TASK 1 COMPLETE. INITIATING TASK 2 PICK YOUR CHALLENGERS AND THEN ENTER THE DOORS. DISFRUTA LA ISLA *

Chapter Text

The next two challenges went rather well. Foolish,Philza, Etioles, and Marianna made it through the parkour rather easily (Which was surprising for an island filled with people who were subpar at the activity at best). The maze, while difficult at first, became easy with the group method the others had suggested, only one group had gotten stuck. Although, that group consisted of Tubbo, Bad, aypierre, Fit and Etioles, so Roier wasn’t entirely counting the maze as a win.
Especially considering that the next task was now a mystery. No hints or explanations were given, just a revolving door leading to many hallways, all of which had a warplate at the end. Roier eyed it wearily, glancing between the group they had now. It was obvious they were going to split them up, still their wasn’t enough hallways for them all to be given individual tasks. But also not enough people for them to be split evenly.
Would they let a group have an extra person? Roier didn’t think the federation was that kind. Then again, if this whole thing was random maybe then they would…. Or, they could make one person go alone. Roier glanced at Quackity with a frown. If anyone would be forced to go alone. It would have to be Quackity wouldn’t it. That wouldn’t be fair at all. None of this was fair at all. If that was the case then their was nothing Roier or Cellbit, Or anyone on this god forsaken island could do to protect him. Roier clenched his fists. This was a punishment for Quackity escaping.
This was never about their eggs, about their lives, about their Happiness. This was all a stupid ass punishment. Roier felt his heart clench in his throat, watching as Cellbit and Quackity so bravely discussed the next plan. So confidently thought they were about to win. They didn’t know. They hadn’t realized. This was all for nothing-
Ow- Roier flinched rubbing the back of his head as he felt something hit it. Glancing down he saw a rock tumbling off his back onto the ground below. Roier turned to the direction to came, and paused when he saw a federation officer there. The same pair of, honestly ugly, looking pants that the one who handed his dad a apple had. Huh. Roier stepped closer quietly, slipping away from the crowd with ease, and eyed the officer with disdain allowing some of his spider traits to peer through to intimidate the man.
The officer just shoved a book at his chest in response.
*They are trying to separate that little duck of yours by putting you on the same team as the subpar detective, the mad scientist and his nicer other half. But doing so will make Agent Jabberjaw have to face what they planned without his family. I have no loyalty to you, or the rest of your friends. Quite honestly I think the federation has been more than kind in even granting that troublemaker this opportunity. But I can’t sit by and watch my friend’s heart break just because he’s trying to save people.* Roier paused in his reading, eyes looking over the sentence once or twice in confusion. This… was a federation worker- no a federation officer. One who wasn’t ashamed to show his loyalty to the federation at all, infact he seemed proud of it. This wasn’t another case of Walter bob, where a worker suddenly grew a heart and betrayed the federation. And yet… he was risking his position, hell maybe even his life, Just so Foolish wouldn’t get hurt. No- he was risking his safety so Foolish wouldn’t get heartbroken. Roier’s eyes snapped to the officer, finding him impatiently waiting for Roier to flip the page and read the rest of what he had written. Roier scolded his expression, he wouldn’t show outright hatred for the worker yet. Infact, he was being rather- well not nice but- pleasant as of now. If this was one of his Dad’s friends he wouldn’t hurt him.
If he tried to be more however well…
Roier flipped the page resuming his readings. *I’ve changed it so that the ugly little duckling will take your place. You’ll be accompanying Agent Jabber Jaw along with Miss Bluebird. Along with evening out the group so theres 4-5 to a group, not including your group of three. This makes the group planned smaller, and the taks waiting them more difficult. But that i don’t care about. What I do care about, and what I ask in return, Spiderman wannabe, is that you ensure your father doesn’t get hurt. I can’t say much about the tasks, me doing all this is already too much interfering… But just know these aren’t real. Make sure He knows whatever happens isn’t real.*
Before Roier could ask any further questions, the officer turned around and left. Roier Blinked at where he was for a few moments. Confused. Atleast, until he heard his Gathino’s voice calling for him.
“Oi, Roier come on we gotta get going if we’re gonna win.” The detective said grabbing his hand. Roier quickly hid the book, throwing it in his trash, before nodding giving both Cellbit and Quackity a kiss on their cheeks. This was perfect actually. Cellbit and Quackity could protect each other. His two loves, the two sides of his heart. Would be safe. Together and safe, no matter what happened they would have each other.
“Yeah stop worrying Mi Hijo Tonto, everything will be fine!” Foolish said ruffling his hair, Jaiden laughing along behind him. Roier felt his smile grow larger as he shouted in protest playing up his rambunctious act to get the others to relax and laugh as they made their way through the doors. On the inside, however, his heart burned with resolve and protectiveness as he stared at Foolish and Jaiden. His family, his family before even Cellbit was. His soulmate that was with him since the very start, and His father who was stuck by his side no matter the circumstances. His lovers would be safe. And he, would be able to Protect the other part of his family. And then, at the very end of it all he would get to hold Bobby and Tilin, his sun and Moon, in his arms.
Nothing could possibly go wrong.
