“I’m afraid we only have one room and bed left, Zongzhu.” The owner of the inn says apologetically, “It’s the busy season at the moment. Have you tried the inn down on the other side of town?”
Jin Zixuan sighs, “We’ve just come from there, unfortunately. They’re already completely full.” He gives the innkeeper a reassuring smile, “It’s alright, we’ll take it, one bed is better than none.”
The man nods, taking Zixuan’s money and handing him a key, gesturing, “Up the stairs, turn left, first door on the right.” He bows, “Thank you for your patronage, apologies for the inconvenience.”
Zixuan waves off his apology and thanks him, then turns to Jin Ling, standing just behind him. He nods to the stairs, “Shall we?”
Jin Zixuan and Jin Ling share a bed.
