“Why am I always cleaning up after you boys?”
Nat smiled at her own remark, heaving herself over the cliff edge. It had been a hell of a climb, but still preferable to the drop.
“I’m sorry.” Steve helped her onto her feet, holding on even after. “When I brought back the stone, I didn’t realise-”
“Doesn’t matter.” She shook her head, taking a moment, basking in the gift of rebirth and his presence. “So, we won?”
“We won. You get to go home.”
Steve.
Home.
She wondered if he knew that, to her, they were one and the same.
