Chapter Text
The air felt thick with tension in the farmhouse, as the brothers' trust with Mikey waver over his behavior towards April's mother. After his attempt to attack Mrs.O'Neil Mikey has promptly been separated for her comfort, with Raph keeping him in check in their bedroom. The rest of the brothers give April and her mother time to recover in the living room. They can hear the faint chatter of the two downstairs as Raph bores his eyes into his youngest brother.
It's unusually quiet between the two. Seeing Mikey act out of character and blatantly attack an innocent doesn't add up. Taking a good look over his brother, he can see that his body language isn't his usual relaxed and upbeat pose. Instead he has his arms crossed leaning on the wall opposite from the door where Raph stood with a hint of annoyance. Deciding the silence needs to be broken, he shifts his weight from leaning on the door and walks up to Mikey.
"So you feeling guilty or what?" Shoving his finger in the younger turtles plastron, making him look up.
Mikey Looks at him bewildered "What? Why would I?" his eyes furrowed. "How can any of you not see that.. thing is not April's mom!" Waving his arms out as he steps out from leaning on the wall.
Raph rolls his eyes with a frustrated intake of air. "No, Mikey! We don't see it! April just got her mother back, and you're being a prick about it." Slamming his finger into his plastron again with more force.
He feels his hand get roughly slapped away as Mikey pushes his way through Raph.
"Arrrrrg!" Waving his hands above head. "Why don't any of you believe me for once! You act like I don't care about April's safety, but she's currently sitting next to an imposter, maybe even the kraang!" Finishing his rant in a heavy pant. "Trust me dude, I can smell it on her." Pointing to his nose.
Looking over his brother he almost looks distraught. It's clear that Mikey full heartedly believes that Mrs. O'Neil is kraang. "Mikey did you hit your fucking head or something? Maybe your mind is playing tricks on you and making you act like a maniac."
Mikey groans "No! I'm not crazy, I'm protecting our friend!"
"Well clearly we'll have to keep an eye on you. If you want to keep April safe; then you'll stay away from her and her mom until you can own up to fucking shit up." Raph finalized. Walking past Mikey grabbing the door handle to leave.
Looking back to his brother he gets another look at the younger turtle. He looks tired. Maybe Donnie should check on him after he cools off. "Don't try any shit. You need to learn how to live with her mom if you want April to be happy."

The last two days for Mikey have been uncomfortable to say the least. He's been cooped up in his room the first day, and the second day he was only allowed out under supervision from one of his brothers. Well except for Donnie since he's still mad at him for attacking the obviously fake mother.
Seriously, why don't they believe me? Mikey thinks. Sure, he can goof around a lot, not take missions seriously, and mess up a lot of things, but he wouldn't attack someone without a good reason! I mean seriously when has his judgment of character been wrong!?

Mikey bites his beak down in thought. Ok maybe he's trusted some people he shouldn't have before. His case still stands though, he's never had hurt someone on purpose!
His thoughts get interrupted as he hears the door to his room crack open. Looking over he sees Leo poke his head through the door. The two of them stare at each other for a moment with a beat of silence.
Leo quickly clears his throat to fully step inside. "Sooo.. how you feeling?"
"Um, I'm.. ok I guess?" Mikey responds. Shifting his weight around the floor. Sighing with a groan "Am I gonna get another lecture?"
"I mean, kind of." Scratching the back of his head. "We're gonna have you apologize to Mrs. O'Neil."
"What, why!?" Mikey yells taken aback. "I'm not gonna apologize to an imposter!" Raising his voice.
Leo straightens his posture into a solid stance crossing his arms, dropping his softer approach. "You're going to apologize whether you like it or not." The tone of his voice becomes stern. "We gave you two days to think about what you did. If you want to walk around without being supervised then you'll need to apologize to her."
Mikey droops in disappointment. Man this sucks. Even if he does apologize he won't have to be genuine about it.
"Fine. I won't like it though." Rolling his eyes.
Leo analysis his brother for a moment. "Don't expect her to forgive you right away. I'd be surprised if she does. Just be respectful of her comfort."
His tone shifting back into a more relaxed manner. "Look I don't know why you think she isn't April's mother. Donnie checked you and said that nothing is wrong, so I'm hoping that this is a one time thing." Taking a long deep sigh. "I hope we can put this behind us Mike."
Mikey looks away from Leo's gaze, feeling a pool of guilt start to flood his chest.
'I'll see if she's ready. Then I'll get you downstairs." He says opening the door. Getting no response from his brother he walks though the door and closes it behind him. Leaving Mikey in silence again.
