Work Text:

“Oh god, Craig, keep your eyes open, don’t go into the light!” Tweek yelled, his hands tight around the steering wheel as he drove as fast as legally possible to the nearest hospital. “I’m not dying Tweek.” Craig groaned; his seat was laid back as he tried to stay as still as possible while also trying to calm down his panicking husband.

Craig had been repainting the walls and had fallen off the ladder he was on, landing right on his back, he already had problems with it, he just hoped that he hadn’t broken his spine or anything major. “Breathe, take ngh—deep breathes, we’re almost at the hospital! Gah!!” Tweek said, breathing in and out rapidly. “I’m fine, Tweek.” Craig sighed, “I’m not talking to you!” the blond snapped back quickly. Craig laughed before grimacing and sucking in a breath due to the pain.

“You’re such an idiot!” Tweek went on to rant about how Craig should’ve been more careful when on the ladder and how he should’ve asked him to hold it for him instead of doing it alone. Craig couldn’t do anything except listen and nod every now and then, even though he knew Tweek couldn’t see him nod.

The drive to the hospital was shorter than Craig expected, he wondered if Tweek had run any red lights especially since he didn’t remember them stopping once. The stay at the hospital wasn’t long either, Craig only had to stay for the night and would be released in the morning. No major injuries, the doctors just recommended that he rested for a couple of weeks and didn’t do anything that caused a lot of movements.

“Honey, please go home, eat a nice dinner, and sleep in an actual bed.” Craig pleaded but Tweek ignored his request. “No! I’m not mgh—going anywhere!” He insisted. Craig knew there was no use in trying to persuade him, Tweek had made his decision and there was no way his mind was going to change no matter what Craig said. So, he just let out a long sigh as he let his head rest back on the hospital bed and squeezed Tweeks hand which was intertwined with his.

Tweek was sitting on a chair as he laid his head in his arms on the side of the hospital bed. “I’m sorry, Tweek.” Craig apologized, “Don’t apologize, Craig. I’m just glad you’re okay.” Tweek said softly, rubbing his thumb over Craigs tan skin.

Craig shook his head, “No, I mean… I know how much you hate hospitals.” he explained. Tweek didn’t say anything, his reaction didn’t change, he just kept caressing Craigs hand with his thumb. Craig watched as Tweeks eyes blinked slowly until they closed completely. “It’s okay. You’re here.” he mumbled.

Craig figured he was exhausted after worrying so much, he smiled and let his eyes close as he drifted off to sleep aswell.

In the morning, Tweek was able to take Craig home, Craig suggested driving the way back, but Tweek was taking Craigs injury extremely serious and immediately shot the idea down. In all honesty, Craig felt embarrassed. He wasn’t used to being helped out of the car or up stairs or even having the door held open for him, he was usually very independent and was always the one to help other people.

“Do you need help getting out of these clothes?” Tweek asked, looking inside their closet for clean clothes for Craig to wear as the said male sat on their bed. “No, I’m good.” Craig said quickly but as he began to pull his shirt over his head, he straightened his posture, tilting his back which caused a sudden strike of pain to hit. He groaned loudly, rubbing his back and letting his shirt fall back down.

Tweek walked up to him, setting the clothes in his hand on the corner of the bed and then grabbing the bottom of Craigs shirt. “I can—do it.” Craig insisted but Tweek was already pulling his shirt off and over his head. “It’s okay to ask for help, Craig.” he said, tossing Craigs shirt into a laundry basket next to their closet.

Craig let himself fall back onto the bed, huffing and crossing his arms in frustration. “Don’t be a baby.” Tweek frowned poking Craig exposed stomach a few times before hooking his fingers onto the hem of Craigs pants. “Come on, lift up your hips.” Tweek instructed and it took a while for Craig to actually comply, but he did eventually. Tweek removed Craigs pants and threw it to the laundry basket. As Tweek was dressing Craig, his embarrassment slowly faded.

He'd never admit it out loud, but he enjoyed the feeling of someone he cared so much for caring for him in return. Once Tweek had finished dressing him, he laid down on their bed next to him. “That wasn’t so bad, was it?” Tweek teased, running his fingers through the back of Craigs hair. Craig just shrugged in response, but his flushed face was all Tweek needed.

Craig figured he didn’t mind being taken care of every once in a while.
