Chapter Text
The book falls to the floor as memories flood his head, and he's vaguely aware of Wolf running over to him.
The cold winter breeze washes over him and he feels his feet sink into the ground as he takes a step. Sherbert's yelling at him about something, and suddenly, they grab his notebook. They yell more, passing the notebook between their hands before they open it and tear up the pages. They aggressively ripped them from the binding, threw them to the floor, and ripped the cover he had worked hard on in half. They throw the remains of the notebook to the ground before stomping on it, muddying the pages with the bottom of their sneakers.
Green and yellow wisps of magic pass through his sight, and suddenly, he's thrown into another memory.
He was waiting for Sherbert to come back until he suddenly heard loud and fast footsteps. He looked up to see Sherbert running towards him with someone closely trailing behind them, they pushed past him, jumping over the nearby wooden railing. He ran to the rail after them, not in enough time to get away from whoever was chasing them in time. He quickly turns around as the person points a sword at him and he watches as Sherbert runs away, leaving him to fend for myself. Before he knew it, the sword-holding person tackled him to the ground, and they started to hurt him.
He's suddenly pulled off of me by-
Green and yellow wisps of magic pass through his sight, and suddenly, he's thrown into another memory once again.
He's sitting in a tent, reading something, when someone grabs him by the arm and drags him out into the light. They start yelling, he sees flashes of gold in his sight, assuming the person who was yelling at him and who grabbed his arm to be Sherbert. He manages to get out of their grasp, backing away, and more yelling happens, and he thinks he hears a double voice, maybe their echo? They move to grab him again, but he pushes them away, accidentally into the ravine. He screams as he watches his brother fall into the lava.
Yet someone grabbed me from behind to drag him away before everything went black.
"Rae? Rae!" Wolf snaps him out of his trance, he's shaking Rae gently. "I-" He tries to speak, but Wolf just sighs in relief. "Jesus, Rae, you scared me." He mutters, letting go of him. "Sorry, just... I think I remembered some things about Sherbert and my childhood relationship. I don't think they were as good of a brother as I thought." Wolf looks confused. "They destroyed this because of an argument, they left me alone to fight someone, they even grabbed me and... I don't know, actually, I pushed them into the ravine. I don't know how they lived." His voice quiets at the end, but he tries not to dwell on his own words.
...
Icarus's P.O.V
Centross tore yet another piece of paper from his notebook, he was getting frustrated. He tore another one, and Icarus suddenly gasped, Centross immediately moving over to them.
Green and yellow wisps of magic pass through their sight
All they could do was watch as Perix destroyed Rae's notebook, the bright green magic binding them and holding them back. Perix walks away as Rae drops to the ground in tears, she turns to wink at them before she disappears, the binds disappearing with her. They hurry over to Rae, wanting to make sure she didn't do anything else, and promise him another notebook. Instead, when they get close to him, he pushes them away and they fall into the mud, their hands slipping out under them-
Green and yellow wisps of magic pass through their sight, and suddenly, they're thrown into another memory.
They were running as fast as they could, their small wings catching the wind and making them go slightly faster. Perix had once again made her the illusion of them, wanting to cause them more issues with Rae, she was jealous. They know she likes Enderian, it had been blatantly obvious, to them anyway, and so now she was trying to pin Rae against them so she could take him, wrap him in her arms, pretend to be a nice lady wanting to take him in.
They couldn't let that happen, not them, and especially not to Rae.
As soon as where they left Rae came into sight, they saw a strange man beating him, sword askew to the side in the snow.
They quickly hurry over to them, pulling the man by the collar off their brother and punching him in the nose. He drops to the floor, cupping his nose, his eyes wide in surprise, he didn't expect someone to come and stop him. They kick him under the chin, and his head is thrown back as he fully collapses on the floor. They kick his side as hard as they can and he cries in pain, cupping his nose and side before trying to get up. They quickly grab him by the collar, slamming his head down on the snow-covered wood.
"Fuck!" He yelled as they did it again, and he started to struggle, kicking his legs widely in the air. They place their foot on his chest, grabbing his wrists as they lean close to him.
"Don't fuck with my brother ever again, or next time you won't live to see the light of day."
The man quickly nods, and they let him go, hurriedly, he grabs his sword and runs away. They turn back around to Rae, the fear in his eyes a contrast to the craze in their own, they bend down looking-

He had come back, they were idiotic to let him go with only a warning. They rush forward, shoving the man aside, and they move to pull Rae behind them, but instead, he pushes them. He shoved backward, and they stumbled, suddenly falling down a ravine, Rae's eyes wide as he watched them fall. The man grabs him from behind, and all they can scream is their brother's name before the orange of the lava consumes.
The next morning they woke-
"Sherbert! Answer me, Sherb!" Their whole body shakes as they gasp, falling into him. More memories fill their head, future ones, ones that will be made, but they aren't as painful as the three they had in their... state. "Shit, Sherb, you scared the ever-living fuck out of me, what the fuck happened?" He holds them tighter, burying his face into their hair, and taking a deep breath.
"I-I remember, I- fuck, I know." They look up at him, his concerned gaze staring back at them. They press their foreheads together and he suddenly goes rigid, "What the-" His body shakes and his grip tightens before he pulls away. "D-Do you remember? Do you know?" Centross nods.
"We have a lot to talk about, Icarus."

Chapter Text
Centross's P.O.V
When Rae called everybody to his house, he didn't expect the only person he didn't call was his brother.
After discussing everything with... Icarus he stayed over at their place, messaging Wolf that he wouldn't be home when he got back with Rae.
Now, the moment they both get back, a meeting is called.
Walking into the house, everyone is already there, Rae was talking about 'waiting for Centross'.
Wolf beckons him over when he sees him and he sits down next to him, Rae sighs, getting ready to say... whatever he is going to say.
"I don't want people around Sherbert right now. I had some memories come back, and they weren't... the greatest, plus with other... behaviors, just avoid them for now. That goes for you too, Centross." He adds at the end, looking at him, suddenly everybody is as Wolf grabs his hand.
"They're my friend, and as much as I respect you, Rae, I won't stop hanging out with them because you told me so. Sure, they were shitty in the past, but they aren't a kid anymore, they know better now, they've changed." He defends them, and Rae sighs again.
"Centross, they've hurt me, physically injured me, and let me be injured by others, they've destroyed my things." Centross crosses his arms over his chest, Rae looking frustrated. Caspian goes to comfort him, and he gladly accepts, while Wolf squeezes his hand tighter.
"And that must suck, but again, they were a child, their whole world changed when you were born, and they had their own reasons. I know you think you know them, figured them out, but you don't, and you haven't, Rae." He explained that with the recent information he had gained, he was in disbelief of Rae.
"Love, it's not worth arguing, I know Sherbert is your friend, but Rae has been through a lot and we, he, needs you to avoid them, just for a few days-" Centross interrupts Wolf, letting go of his hand.
"And what about me, what about them? How do you think I feel about having people tell me that I can't see my best friend? How do you think they'll feel when everybody is suddenly ignoring them? Did you ever think about them?" He turns from Wolf to Rae at his last question, and he shakes his head. "Centros,s they've hurt m-" He cuts him off, annoyed that no one seemed to be hearing him.
"I know they have, but guess what, Rae? So have I, so are you going to cut me off too?" Rae looks baffled, hesitating.
"That's not the same-" He tries to defend, but he cuts him off again.
"It is, it really is, Rae. You know what also? I've hurt them, they've hurt me, we're still friends, aren't we? I hang out with Sherb a lot despite the pain we've caused for each other." Rae goes silent again, and Caspian pulls him into his arms, pushing his head into his chest.
"Centross, I think that's enough," Caspian speaks firmly, Wolf also squeezes his shoulder.
"Well, my answer is no, I won't avoid them, in fact, I'm probably going back to their house after this," He replies, brushing Wolf's hand off his shoulder. "The conversation isn't over," Wolf speaks up, eyes furrowed in concern and confusion. "I know that I'm just saying." He looks at him again, and he sighs, looking at Caspian.
Rae uncurls from Caspian, breathing shakily before continuing with what he had left to say. "Sherbert is a danger to me and maybe to other people. I know that can be hard to believe, but I want to talk to them first before everyone is around them again." Centross stayed silent, quietly seething at his words, even surprised that Rae was starting to turn against Icarus.
"It's funny, I've heard a different story from Sherbert," He speaks up again after a quiet beat. "Are you going to trust them over me for this? They have a track record-" Rae tries to defend, but he interjects once more.
"Yeah, yeah, Rae, I am going to trust them over it, I know them, Rae, I can tell when they are lying, so I can also tell you that they definitely were not. I would swear to you on all the things that mean something to me. Coming from me, you know how much that means." Rae stares at him blankly, and suddenly, Aax, Caspian, Athena, and even Wolf are coming at him, defending Rae.
"I have to go, I'll be outside if anyone needs me." He suddenly said, getting up from the table and going outside.
His thoughts run wild as he thinks about how Rae could switch and turn on Icarus so suddenly and aggressively.
Notes:
I know it's pretty poor, i'll see if I can fix it another time but for now this is what it is
