Work Text:

"You finally suck it up, Cap?" Tony asked as he and Pepper ran into Steve outside Clint's apartment.

"I don't know anything about babies," Steve said.

"It's okay, Cap," Clint said, having heard Steve when he'd opened his front door. "I'm glad there are books. Phil was supposed to be my Baby101 professor."

Pepper held out her arms to Clint and hugged him close. "Are you okay?" Pepper asked.

"I didn't expect to miss him so much when she was born," Clint said. "He was supposed to be there to coach Nat."

Pepper wiped the tears on Clint's cheeks and said, "Introduce me to your baby girl."

"Come on in," Clint said, holding open his apartment door to Pepper, Tony and Steve.

Steve froze when the group entered the open living room. "Tony and I should---"

"Speak for yourself," Tony said. "Nat's 's just nursing Pip. Breast milk is the best thing for babies. There've been studies," Tony said.

"Who are you?" Pepper asked, tilting her head away from her lover.

"I've done my homework," Tony said.

"Yes you have," Natasha said looking at Tony, amused. 'Tony's held her, would you like to hold her, Pepper."

"Please," Pepper said as Natasha finished feeding Pippa closing her nursing bra before handing Clint's daughter to Pepper.

"She's beautiful," Pepper said.

'I'm worried she might have my nose," Clint said.

"There is nothing wrong with your nose," Natasha said, "and if you're really worried about it everyone will be distracted by her hair."

"I'm so happy she got your hair," Clint said.

'That might be a problem you know," Natasha said. "People are going to assume that I'm her mother."

"You are her mother," Clint said, "regardless of what you want her to call you."

"You know I'm worried that she'll be confused," Natasha said

"I'm not," Clint said, "but, if you want her to call you Aunt Nat the fine, but she's going to know that you gave her to me and her Poppy."

Natasha stood-up from the couch, hugged her best friend and said, "I'm going to make myself some breakfast," Natasha said. "Try to get Steve to hold the baby. He needs to get over his baby phobia."

"Yes, ma'am," Clint said.

"Do I get to hold her, too?" Tony asked.

Natasha smiled at Tony noticing that the mechanic was holding Pippa's finger and said, "I think she'd like that."
