Work Text:

Guitar Villain never really thought about kids, mostly because they never fit into his rocker lifestyle. He doubts his counterpart felt the same way but for some reason as Guitar Villain stare down at Reflekta in the pouring rain, he couldn’t find it in himself to turn her way.

Reflekta looks quite small sitting on his couch with a blanket around her shoulders. Fang is hanging up on top of the roof with his head raised on the balcony, keeping a close enough on the kid. Guitar Villain just shrugs when Fang looks at him; he’s so far out of his element that he just figures hot chocolate might help with things.

He had two mugs (one is a Guitar Villain themed one and the other is a simple pink one) both filled with whip cream and a peppermint stick. Would Reflekta even like something like this? Why did she come to Guitar Villain and not someone else? He thought she was living with Princess Fragrance, did those two get into a fight or something?

The Akuma set down the pink mug on the coffee table, gently pushing it forward to let Reflekta know that it was for her, before taking a seat in the arms chair. Guitar Villain wants to say something but instead just takes a sip of his drink instead.

“Have you ever been heartbroken before?” Reflekta’s question almost didn’t make it to Guitar Villain but somehow he still heard it. Her head is down but he can still see the tears falling down her face.

Has he? Guitar Villain was created because of insults from XYZ because he was getting older in the music world. His counterpart had a few romantics here and there but never really gotten his heart broken by anyone before. However, Guitar Villain has never personally been heartbroken because nothing like that had happened here. There aren’t many Akumas that Guitar Villain can really hang out with.

“No.” He might as well be honest. “I've never been heartbroken before, not as far as I know.”

Reflekta suddenly look very defeated and Guitar Villain found himself putting the mug down and placing a hand on her shoulder, though he quickly pulls away.

“However, seeing you like this gives me a pretty good clue.” He has no connection to Reflekta but for some reason, he really wants to make sure that she’s okay. Guitar Villain wonders if there’s a connection between their counterparts or not. “It must hurt and you can stay here as long as you want to, Reflekta.”

Guitar Villain pulls away and grabs his mug again, though he went back to the kitchen. He wants to give Reflekta space to sort things out and he has a feeling that he’ll just get in the way. Frankly, he doesn’t know what he’s doing and it’s not like he has anyone. Unlike his counterpart who has a manager and an agent and fans…Guitar Villain has a penthouse and a dragon in a city that could barely be counted as a city. He doubts twenty-six Akumas could count as much.

“Do you still play music?”

Guitar Villain spins around to see Reflekta standing on the other side of the island, staring up at him with her pink mug in hand. He nods slowly; “yeah, not as much as my counterpart but I do well for myself, why?” it’s a good question, he hasn’t made much music since coming here since Guitar Villain just doesn’t have the following as his counterpart did…which is kinda hard when there’s only twenty-five Akumas and he don’t music is something that they would want right now.

“I started to play the bass and really want to talk about something that isn’t my girlfriend or being in Anti-Paris.”

Guitar Villain finally set his mug into the sink and runs over to the coffee table; removing papers and accidently knocking stuff of the table until he found one notebook. It’s a bit cheesy since it looks like a teenage boy who dreams of becoming a rock star made it but Guitar Villain doesn’t care. Reflekta takes a sit on the couch again and Guitar Villain hands it to her.

“Just some songs that I’ve been working on but I would love a second opinion.”

After that day, Guitar Villain’s apartment is never quite as lonely as before. Reflekta lived there for about a week before she and Princess Fragrance made up but that didn’t stop Reflekta from coming back.

She would come for dinner every night and sometimes brings Princess Fragrance or another Akuma if the Princess is busy; a few times Evillustrator, Lady Wifi, and Bubbler came over. Dark Cupid and Gamer came over, and strangely enough Horrificator, Mime, and Stoneheart always swing by sometime.

In that time, Guitar Villain worked on his music with Reflekta’s help. He wants to perform again but something always stops him from going to the council to ask. There would be bigger events that happen like someone being bored and attempting to take over Anti-Paris or the council having to deal with some crisis and it’s never a good time.

(The two would work on music and whatnot with a cup of hot chocolate, one mug Guitar Villain themed with another Reflekta themed.)

That was until Reflekta came into the apartment one night and slaps down a piece of paper onto the counter, next to where Guitar Villain is cooking. He wanted to make something new and not the same thing so he decided on spaghetti and meatballs since it’s still simple but not something that they had before.

Guitar Villain leans over and sees that it’s a flyer for a show…his show in the park three days from now. “What?” Simple question but it's got the point across.

Reflekta looks so pleased with herself. “I went to the council and they are super excited for you to perform!” She shrugs and moves away a bit when Guitar Villain kept looking at her in confusion. “You want to perform but you wouldn’t go to the council so I did in your place. Everyone is bored and this will help with that.”

“I don’t know what to say.”

He set down his fork and picks up the paper; a grin broke out on his face. Guitar Villain sling an arm around Reflekta’s shoulders and pulls her into a half-hug. “Thank you for everything.” He pulls away and went to put the flyer on the fridge; stepping back proudly at it until he suddenly remember. “I don’t have a band.”

“Of course, you do,” Reflekta places her hands on her hips, “you have my band.”

“Do you think they would be willing to work with me?”

“Uh, duh. You’re the reason why we even made a band in the first place, even know how to play any of the instruments in the first place.” Reflekta stands proudly and Guitar Villain can’t help but be proud of her. “We’re going to rock Anti-Paris and be the greatest band to have ever existed.”

“We’re the only band that exists?”

“You know what I mean.”

Guitar Villain couldn’t help but laugh before continuing to make dinner while Reflekta start going into planning mode to figure out everything.

Three days have passed and the day of the contest has come. It was nerve-wracking – almost like Guitar Villain is a little boy performing all over again – and he felt sick as everyone in Akuma in Anti-Paris is outside, waiting for an amazing show.

Reflekta is standing next to him with her own bass; her hands are shaking and she couldn’t stop looking at the red curtains.

Guitar Villain let out a calming breath before throwing an arm around Reflekta’s shoulders, pulling her into his side. “We’re going to rock this and make this a tradition for generations to come.” It’s going to be fine because they have been practicing and the council have been watching almost all their practices while they had their meetings. Evillustrator made sure that their instruments are perfect. “There’s nothing to worry about.”

For the first time, Reflekta ends up leaning into him and relaxing. “Yeah, we can do this!”

The rest of the band came onto the stage and Reflekta takes her place among them. Even if this is Guitar Villain's only show, he’s proud of the band that he helped create. Huh, he has been feeling that a lot lately since he and Reflekta started working on this.

“Alright, let’s rock this!” Guitar Villain said, getting a round of cheers from the band in turn.

When the curtains closed, Guitar Villain felt so much lighter then he has since he arrived in Anti-Paris. The show went amazing and there is still so much buzz. Reflekta’s band are congratulating one another on a wonderful show and Guitar Villain couldn’t help but give his own to all of them.

He was standing off to the side, making sure that each member is packed up before leaving. Suddenly, Guitar Villain has an arm full of Reflekta and he couldn’t help but hug her back.

“Thanks, Dad.” Reflekta didn’t stick around long enough to know Guitar Villain’s reaction as she was already running back to speak with Princess Fragrance.

So, that’s what he has been feeling this whole time.

And what a wonderful feeling that it is.

Notes:

Fun fact: Guitar Villain was the one to make his mug themed after him and also the one to make the Reflekta mug as well.

Hopefully, you enjoyed and have a wonderful day/night!
