Chapter Text
The moment she realised what she had done, Shin paused. Frozen in her movements and her instinct to destroy the enemy in front of her. The sound of Marrok and Ahsoka fighting, the wind in the red hued leaves and her own breath filled her ears before she was firmly pushed back with a force she did not expect from the older Padawan.
The sound of Sabine's lightsaber disengaging awoke her from her stupor and she finally met those shining golden eyes, the ones that had haunted her dreams since their first meeting.
"So, Ah that was a weird tactic" Sabine said her hand gently wiping the blood spotting on her bottom lip, her eyes not leaving Shin's who watched the movement with bated breath. Her tongue licked out instinctively and she tasted iron on her own lips. Blood, Sabine's blood to be precise and it stirred something inside her she had never felt before. A longing to know more than just the ways of the force, her master's teachings and violence. Something she had no words to describe yet the feeling in the pit of her stomach was somehow calming and pleasant.
"You look a little shaken. Do you need a minute before we start this up again?" Sabines voice cut through her thoughts and she tried to stand taller, surprised that Sabine was much closer than she had been a moment ago.
Shin did not blink as she searched Sabine's face for anything. A connection to the feelings she had a second ago, her thoughts felt open and raw but she knew sabine wasn't attuned to the force enough to sense them.
"If you wanted to kiss me, you could have just asked" her voice cocky this time, Shin reached forward and ran a gloved finger down the lines of Sabine's cheek and jaw, she gripped on to her chin and pulled her face closer. Their breathing heavy, air puffing on each other's lips. The sound of Sabine's saber hitting the ground was unheard by both as they continued to search each other.
"You have no power" Shin growled, her voice low and demanding and Sabine sensed it. She felt it right in her core.
This feral creature, this woman would be her end.
Shin felt Sabine's intentions before they happened, her hand reached out and her lightsaber flew directly into her hand, the swing that followed was directed towards Shin's head but she had already moved out of the way in the blink of an eye. Frustration boiled in Sabine as she turned and set herself again, holding her saber in front of her face, the intensity behind her eyes showing that she was not willing to give up just yet.
"You know, I never got your name" Sabine said, another question that stunned Shin, though little showed visibly on her face. It did show when she failed to connect her saber in time and Sabine managed to knick her arm above her armor and she hissed at the pain. She noticed Sabine's smug smile before a moment later Shin reached into the force and pushed her back into the nearest tree. The Mandalorian had not chance to avoid the back of her head hitting the tree and slumping down, unconscious.
