Work Text:
As Metal’s systems flickered back on, he slowly regained sight, and found himself gazing at the night sky, which was lit up by hundreds of stars.
But he couldn’t help but wonder how. The light pollution Robotnik had caused in this area had rendered most of the stars hidden- You’d be lucky to see two or three.
…Unless, it wasn’t stars.
…
Unless it was someone super. Metal looked at what held him in the sky, and, if he was not so robotic, he would’ve turned his head away to shield his eyes from the brightness…of Super Amy.
She was bridal carrying him, holding him in the sky and keeping him away from danger, making sure no further injury would come to him.
She was the stars in the sky. The light in an infinite darkness.
Her eyes were a bright, flaming red.
It was reminiscent of Amy’s passion, her love for the world and her friends, and her strength.
It was hard to tell whether looking at her flaming red eyes was comforting, or intimidating.
Her fur was a bright, sparkly, shining gold. Her quills were pointed upwards, and, despite her fur seeming more scruffy, it was incredibly soft, and felt like the warmth of a thousand stars.
Shiny golden particles surrounded her, and she left a temporary trail of them wherever she flew.
They were like stars. Tiny, golden stars that shined with incredible brightness. They looked full of love.
To Metal, being held by her, being protected…
It was like the universe itself was holding him, guarding him from harm.
But no,
It was just Amy.
It was just someone passionate, kind, strong, brave, sweet, and lovely.
It was someone who’d protect him from harm, even if the universe itself was trying to harm him.
…
In that moment, he felt a spark.
Not from broken wires, but from something that Robotnik believed he didn’t have.
A spark in his heart. A spark of love, igniting.
If he could speak, something along the lines of ‘I love you’ would be the first thing he’d say right now.
…
…
…
So, in the end, there was but one star in the sky he could see that night,
And her name was Amy Rose.
