Nanami paced back and forth in the dimly lit bedroom, worry etched across his face. Tiana and Naveen lay in the bed, their brows furrowed with fever, tossing and turning in discomfort. The couple had fallen ill suddenly, and Nanami's normally rational mind was a whirlwind of panic.
"Kento, darling, please, you need to calm down," Tiana whispered, her voice weak. She reached out and took his trembling hand.
Nanami tried to put on a brave face for his beloved partners. "I know, I know," he replied, forcing himself to take a deep breath. "It's just... I lost Yu Haibara to an illness. We thought it was just the flu, but it wasn't. I can't bear the thought of losing you two."
Naveen reached out from the other side of the bed and grasped Nanami's hand as well. "We're going to be alright, love," he assured, his voice hoarse. "We have you to take care of us."
Nanami nodded, tears welling up in his eyes. "I just don't know what to do. I'm not a doctor, and I can't stand feeling so helpless."
Tiana smiled weakly, her eyes filled with warmth. "You don't need to be a doctor, Kento. You just need to be here with us. That's all we need."
Nanami nodded again, his heart aching with fear and love. He pulled up a chair beside the bed and took a seat, refusing to leave their side. Throughout the night, he dampened cloths with cool water and gently placed them on their foreheads, trying to ease their fever. He fetched warm tea and soup, despite his trembling hands. He even read them stories, trying to distract them from their discomfort.
As the days passed, Tiana and Naveen's condition slowly improved, thanks in no small part to Nanami's tireless care. Their fever broke, and their strength began to return.
Naveen sighed in relief, "Thank you, Kento. You've been our rock through all of this."
Tiana nodded in agreement, her eyes shining with gratitude. "We're so lucky to have you, Kento."
Nanami smiled, wiping away a tear. "I love you both more than anything in this world. I can't bear the thought of losing you."
Tiana reached out and took his hand. "We're not going anywhere, my love. We're in this together, through thick and thin."
Naveen chimed in, "And we promise to take better care of ourselves from now on."
Nanami chuckled through his tears. "That's all I ask for."
