Summary:

Jimmy had been standing by the pen still, looking at the horse. "Jimmy!" He called, which Jimmy's face immediately lit up to. "I did it, Tango!" He yelled happily, making a oof sound when Tango collided with him in a hug. It was so stupid, but Jimmy loved it. It was just a horse, afterall. And Scar would probably get it back. But they were happy, because they've been after it for so long.

Tango cupped Jimmy's face, locking eyes. "I've never been more proud of anyone, Jimmy. I'm so proud of you" He said with a genuine and soft tone. Jimmy hasn't heard anyone say that to him, or anything like it. Tango was so happy about their accomplishment, and so was Jimmy.

So when Tango kissed his forehead and kept in the hug, Jimmy didn't mind. He maybe liked it more than he should have.

---Gentle hands rubbed Jimmy's back, only seconds before was Jimmy backed up in a corner and insulted. The same boy who insulted so harshly had such a soft touch. It confused Jimmy. But, Scott had never hit Jimmy. It wasn’t abuse. Scott just had an awkward way of showing love. Jimmy was pretty awkward, he knew the struggle.---

Chapter 1: Husbands, but who's this with the red eyes?

Chapter Text

Jimmy knew Grian had said their soulmates were random, but he didn't believe him. Surely, he had rigged it somehow. So, he assumed his soulmate was Scott. Their long history together would only make sense, right? Scott was.. He was his husband.

Jimmy was close with Scott. They were almost inseparable, the blonde, Jimmy, following behind Scotts every step. So it would only make sense to put them together. Grian must have put them together!

He remembers comments on his ‘too big’ and ‘too broad’ body, compared to Scotts slim and elegant body. Jimmy lumbered along, strong arms and strong chest. He knew he wasn’t petite or tiny like Scott. He knew he himself was simply strong, growing up on the farm meant you needed muscle. It wasn’t like he was overweight! Right.?

Jimmy was 26. Blonde hair that swiped to the side. The blonde was almost the same color as his wings and feathers. He was a canary hybrid, showing by medium sized wings on his back and feathers covering his ears. Jimmy was almost always dressed in casual clothes, liking comfort over style or however it went.

Scott was 27. He had blue hair, well, he called it teal or cyan, with pointed elf ears. His skin was fair, unlike the bruised and rough skin Jimmy had. He was always the best dressed out of everyone, decorating himself with expensive clothes. Real gold and silver jewelry and handmade accessories. He was pretty, and he knew it.

They had met in Third Life, immediately getting along together. Jimmy had married Scott in that life, and Jimmy remembered Scott through everything.

Following Martyn to the mountain, shivering from the cold winds. He wasn't exactly happy with him, as moments before Martyn was lying to him. He was still a good and close friend, through everything

Marytn looked back at him, concern in his eyes. Jimmy didn't know why Martyn was concerned, Jimmy was perfectly fine. “Jimmy? You alright? Scott was-.. Pushing you around earlier. Do you need help?”

Help? Jimmy didn't need any help. He laughed, playfully pushing Martyn. “Jimmy, come live with me. Right now! You can't go back to Scott, Tim.” Martyn spoke up again. But Jimmy continued laughing. “I can't just throw Scott under the bus,” Jimmy spoke, turning around to leave. To leave Martyn who stood in the wind, worry obvious.

So, when Jimmy had felt the random excruciating pain and woke up at spawn. He expected Scott to be there.

Groaning, he got up, holding his head. His head was pounding, but started walking around. Looking for his husband. He was met with someone different.   “I'm so sorry!” A bright blonde netherborn was the source of the voice. Tango. Tango was shorter than him, pointed ears showing. He had goggles resting on his head, red glass and gold details. Stained redstone was on them, as well as some on his face, almost looking like freckles. Deep red eye-whites with bright fiery red eyes, Jimmy couldn't find such kind eyes scary.

He didn't like this, no matter how kind he knew Tango was, he should be with Scott. Jimmy took a deep breath, “What happened?” He asked, watching as Tango walked closer. Tango started explaining that a horde of zombies was attacking him, and didn't notice that a creeper was behind him. Apologizing profusely and seemingly genuinely meaning it. Jimmy brushed it off, and ran off to grab his stuff.

Jimmy wandered around trying to find his stuff, and was looking for Scott as he did so. He couldn't find him. Jimmy came across his best friend, Joel, though. Joel looked happy to see him, and Etho was his soulmate. Jimmy didn't know much about Etho, but congratulated him on finding his soulmate.

“So, Tango huh?” Joel nudged Jimmy, smiling widely. Jimmy smiled back, but unsure as to why his friend had brought up Tango. “He's fine, not exactly the best meeting your soulmate by death” Jimmy chuckled, but genuinely didn't care that much. He understood that Tango had tried his best to not die, and it wasn't his fault. Jimmy knew better than to get mad at his soulmate for an accident. “I reckon you'll have a nice time with him, Jim,” Joel randomly blurted out, awkwardly smiling afterwards. What was that supposed to mean? “We'll see, yeah?” Jimmy simply said, before walking off to grab his stuff.

Once he finally found the spot he died at, Jimmy couldn't find any of his stuff. With a painful walk back to Tango, saying hello to the same friends he had talked to on his way there.

Getting back to the spot, Tango had gathered some things and the two found a spot to build. Learning that in Tango's past he was in THE hermitcraft server. Jimmy was amazed, to say the least. Hermitcraft was a hard and dangerous world, where any which thing could come out and kill you. His best friend-like brother, Grian, also participates in it. Jimmy never understood why they even would apply, and wondered what they go through in hermitcraft.

He also learned that neither of them could build. Well, of course they could but both were not very good at it. Jimmy was very unlike his friends in that way, watching them build beautiful houses and bases while he normally had a simple wood hut. He left Tango to the building, as Jimmy went mining for resources. The avian had no luck mining, only finding about 10 pieces of iron. Mining meant that he had plenty of things to think about, such as his curse, or Scott, and many other things. It put him in a gloomy mood. Jimmy did love the build Tango did. They were deemed the ranchers, where they decided to start up a ranch.

“Jimmy? You seem upset, what's up?” Tango asked, walking closer to Jimmy. Jimmy was sitting on the ground outside the house, where Tango stood next to him. He just shrugged, staring at the sky. Tango sat next to him, grabbing Jimmy's hand and interlocking their fingers. It felt nice, the warmth of holding someone's hand. He looked over at Tango, who had a big grin on his face. Jimmy thinks he won't mind being Tango's soulmate.

Soft kisses and warm cuddles is what Jimmy thought of Scott. His friends had recently been trying to take him away from Scott, his husband. Jimmy wasn't sure why. He’s gotten in quite a few fights with them for that reason. He was happy. Arguments with Scott only happened when Jimmy messed up. It was his fault he’s so useless to Scott. Scott always apologized anyway.
