Work Text:

Dean POV

“What do we got?” I asked. Sam had his thinking face on.

“I don’t know. Maybe we need another hunter to help.” He said.

“I’ll call Garth.” I said reaching for my phone.

“No. Not Garth. I have a feeling we need someone else. I was looking through Bobby’s old address book and found a weird contact. O. Emerson. Does that ring a bell?” He asked. I shook my head.

“I will ask Garth.” I pulled out my phone and dialed Garth’s number.

“Hello Dean!”

“Hey Garth, uh listen. Sam and I found a contact in Bobby’s old stuff. O. Emerson. Do you know of someone?” I asked.

“Yeah. I went on a couple hunts with her.”

“Her?”

“Yeah. Olivia Emerson. One of the best hunters around. If you need help call her. I’m a bit busy okay?”

“Got it.” I closed my phone and looked at Sam.

“Olivia Emerson. Garth has gone hunting with her.” I told him.

“Olivia? Wow. Okay. I will look her up. Let's get back to the motel.” I nodded and we headed over to Baby.

--time skip--

“So get this, Olivia went to Firgrove Community School. Do you remember the hunt we went on with dad there?” Sam said.

“Uh vaguely. Why?” I asked.

“Cause look.” Sam turned his computer to show a picture of a sixth grade girl with really blonde curls and bright green eyes.

“Hey I remember her. She had a uh friend that she was always with. Her house was haunted.

Didn’t she live in an Orphanage?”

“Yeah. I wonder how she became a hunter.” I nodded.

“Is Olivia’s number in Bobby’s book?” I asked. Sam nodded.

“Call her.” Sam dialed the number and after a couple rings a slightly British voice answered.

“Hello?”

“Hi. This is Sam and Dean Winchester. Is this Olivia Emerson?” Sam asked.

“Depends. Why do you ask?”

“We know who you are.” I said.

“Really? Then why’d you call?”

“We need help and Garth is a bit busy. We are in Lawrence, Kansas. Motel 6. Room 113. What do you say?” I said.

“I’ll be there. Bye!” The line went dead.

“Well that went well. Sammy get some rest. When Olivia comes I’ll wake you. Let’s just hope she isn’t another Bella.”

Sam POV

“Sammy! Get up. She’s here.” I opened my eyes and walked into the ‘kitchen’. A girl with the same blonde hair and green eyes as the picture stood at the door.

“What is Garth doing these days? And why isn’t Bobby’s phone working?” She asked. Dean and I exchanged looks.

“You haven’t heard? Bobby is gone. And never coming back.” Dean said. Olivia pulled a bitch face but pain flashed in her green eyes.

“And Garth is doing Bobby’s job. Answering all the phones.” She nodded. Dean's phone began ringing.

“It’s Cas. Give me a sec.” Dean walked outside.

“So. Nice to see you again Winchester.” Her voice dripped with sarcasm.

“Don’t remember? Well, I’ll give you some hints. School. Bullies. You and your brothers lack of help and your fake friendship. You are very lucky I’m even here. What do you need me for?”

“Well, the man we looked at in the morgue, looked like he was ripped to shreds.” I said pulling out the photos.

“You both are screwed.”

“Come again?” Dean asked as he walked in.

“You are screwed. What are you even hunting?” She asked.

“We don’t know. Maybe you could help us.”

“Damn right! I swear. You two are screw ups without Bobby.” She mumbled.

“Well, can you tell us what we are dealing with?” I asked.

“Nothing that you have faced before.” She began digging into her bag and pulled out two bronze daggers.

“Daggers?” Dean asked.

“Don’t pull the ‘we are the Winchesters! We can do anything!’ crap okay? You are dealing with things you have never faced. Ever.” She growled. The roots of her hair became a reddish black.

“Then tell us.”

“Hellhounds dumbass.” She deadpanned.

“No see hellhounds come after people who have made deals. These people haven’t made deals.” Dean said.

“For the love of Hades! You two are so clueless. Hellhounds aren’t just Crowley’s bitches! Hellhounds will attack anybody any time they want. The question is, why are they attacking?” A beeping noise went off and Olivia looked at her phone. Her face drained of color.

“Impossible.” She whispered.

“What?” I asked.

“Never mind.” She said.

“Let’s go back.” Dean said. We all agreed to go.

Dean POV

Olivia had a look about her. Skinny jeans, blue shirt, black leather jacket, bead necklace on a leather string, and black high top shoes said ‘don’t mess with me’. Her blonde hair was in a high ponytail. In her jean’s front right pocked had something like a pen in it. The necklace she wore had six beads on it. We dropped her off at a nearby park. Sam and I were in our FBI outfits. We walked into the Morgue to find the doctor guy over another body.

“Same thing?” Sam asked. The man nodded. Sam called Olivia, who said to meet her at the park.
When we got there she was on her back laughing as she scratched and played with an invisible figure.

“Good girl Mrs. O’Leary!” She giggled. He heard a happy bark.

“Oh did Nico send you? Do you know where he is girl? The invisible thing let out a whimper. Olivia seemed to understand.

“I know girl. I know. Did you follow me all the way to Kansas? Travis and Connor are supposed to be caring for you. Did you miss me?” She asked the thing.

“You have to go home. I’m working. I know.” She said.

“Uh what is that thing?” I asked.

“Don’t freak, but it, is a she, and she is my pet hellhound. I inherited her from my brother.”

“Pet hellhound? Well your pet is killing people.” I said. She looked at me and laughed.

“Mrs. O’Leary killing people? That’s ridiculous! She’s the sweetest thing! She would never harm anyone, would you girl. No, you wouldn’t. It’s a rogue one.” The hellhound disappeared, as much as it could, and Olivia got up.

--time skip--

We got back to the hotel room and Olivia crashed onto a bed. My bed. I gave her a look.

“Awe what’s wrong shortie? This ain’t your bed is it?” She asked. I glared harder. She wolf-glared at me and I doubled back. I glanced at Sam. He had this look that I couldn’t read.

“So these hellhounds. How do we know when the next one strikes?” Sam asked.

“It’s only one. Usually they hunt in packs but this one seems to roam alone. Also, who’s Cas?” She said/asked.

“I am.” Olivia sat up and fear passed through her eyes.

“Y-You’re an Angel!” She whispered.

“Why do you sound so surprised?” I asked.

“If I told you why, I’d leave.” She said. I put my hands up.

Cas POV

She was a demigod. I knew this much. But every time I looked at her, she seemed to plead no. Like I shouldn’t tell them.

“Dean, do we know what’s killing people?” Dean nodded. Olivia came back in from the bathroom. Her cellular device began ringing.

“Hello?... No Nico. She jumped me! Look, if I needed a good ride, I would have called Blackjack… Yeah sure I’ll be there. May I bring a couple of friends?... Okay thanks.” She turns to us.

“Sam, Dean, get in your best suits. We are pausing for a wedding that I can’t miss so lets go. I have my dress. Dibs on the bathroom.” She started to walk off.

“What about me?” I asked.

“You’re not coming. Sorry but my cousin is a little angry with you guys.”

Sam POV

Dean and I were in our suits when Olivia came out. She wore a knee-length black dress with a white sash around her waist. She had on black heals.

“Cas, I do have a favor to ask though.” Cas looked at her confused.

“Could you use your Angel mojo to zap us to my brother’s old apartment, upper east side Mannhatten. It’s in New York.” Cas nodded and we all found ourselves at a decorated apartment. A boy with black hair and a black suit came forward.

“I assume these are your guests?” He asked. Cas was long gone. Olivia nodded.

“Is Will with Reyna?”

“Yes.”

“Sam, Dean, this is my cousin Nico. I am walking him down the aisle.” We nodded and took seats in the back of the room. A knock came at the door.

“Oh! Hayley! Welcome.” Olivia whispered something in a woman's ear as they entered the room.

--time skip to end--

“Uh, Olivia?”

“It’s Ollie, and yeah?”

“You didn’t tell us it was a…” Dean tried to explain with odd hand motions.

“So? You got a problem?” We both shook our heads.

“Good.” She said.

“Cas will pick you guys up in an hour. I suggest you dance.” She said.

A slow song began to play.

“Hey Sammy, you should ask Ollie to dance.” Dean said. I shook my head.

“Why not? She’s all alone.”

“Fine.” I walked over to Ollie and she gave me a smile.

“Dance?” I asked, holding out my hand. She nodded and I pulled her close.
