Work Text:

It had all happened in a blur, Chuuya was ordered to shoot Dazai, and he watched helplessly from his body, unable to stop himself.

In the end, Chuuya finally manages to snap out of the vampirism, but by then it was too late. Dazai was already dead at his feet, and to Chuuya's horror, he realized it was his own fault. “D-Dazai? Dazai wake up! Please- This isn't funny- You can't be dead…” He pleads desperately, staring at the body at his feet, his hands trembling. What was the point of wielding so much power as a vampire if he couldn't even control it? Chuuya turns around, enraged realizing that this was Fyodor's doing. He stares up at the cameras before finally realizing what he has to do. What was necessary to finally get rid of the rat. With one last glance at Dazai's limp body, he feels a tear run down his cheek before uttering the words "grantor of dark disgrace... You need not wake me again"

He had destroyed everything in his path, Fyodor, his soldiers, hell, even innocents. What was the point anymore if Dazai was gone anyway? He felt almost as if the uncontrollable God inside his head even pitied him; he felt his body become more his than usual, and silently thanked the God as he felt himself being taken next to his fallen love's side. As he reaches the wall, he slides down next to Dazai and shuts his eyes. "I suppose we'll finally be able to get some rest, I finished your plan, stupid mackerel" he whispers and he grabs Dazai's hand tightly.

Chuuya had never been a fan of Dazai's suicidal antics, but now it made sense how peaceful the silence was, laying next to him during his last breaths, he laughed at how ironic the entire situation was. Dying at his hands, causing him to use Ahrabaki, it seemed fitting that it would end this way.
