Curiosities

Summary:

The Winter King helps Simon pick out a better suit than his tattered scarecrow clothes.

Notes:

PS. This is dumb, so very dumb. They were just the smallest bit fruity in the episode, so as a writer i was given an inch but took a mile.

Work Text:

The manic Winter King did intrigue Simon. In a way he reminded him of himself, albeit a much better version.

He wasn't afraid to let everything go and have a little fun. Simon sighed to himself and looked toward the ground staring at the ends of his tattered pants, maybe that's why he was smiling so much, because he felt so free.

He meekly looked up at the Winter King as he was talking to Fionna and Cake. He was very tall and admittedly handsome, the tailored suit most likely helped pull his physique together. In no way would he have ever though this would be a Simon Petrikov unless he knew the influence of the crown.

A frosty hand suddenly touched his shoulder and he met the Winter Kings energetic gaze. "Would you help me in the laboratory?" Simon opted out of saying anything and silently followed, the cold ice making his feet feel numb.

"Do tell me, where did you get such garments from?" The Winter Kings smile didn't fade as he lazily pointed to Simons unbuttoned shirt. "Off of the back of a scarecrow. I know it doesn't look the nicest but it keeps the cold out, mostly."

A regal laugh filled the air as the Winter King wiped a tear from his eye. "You didn't seriously take those rags from a scarecrow did you?" Simon looked down at his shirt and began fidgeting with one of its buttons, a small frown making itself present. "uh, yeah I did." The Winter King looked down at Simons face, his own smile fading as he realized he had made his guest uncomfortable. "I am ever so sorry dear friend, I only ment it as a joke. Why don't I lend you one of my suits?" Simon looked up at the Winter King and smiled "That would make my day the slightest bit better.".

"You really outdid yourself on this palace, who puts a couch in a walk in dresser?" The Winter King swiftly entered the room, taking a seat on the aforementioned couch, resting his arm over side rest.

"I had to fill the space somehow, although I can see how it makes me look rich." Simon perused the lengthy rack of assorted black and blue suits, drifting his hand over each one as he walked along. "Aren't you though? You have subjects that love you, an amazing kingdom to live in and without the crowns terrible effects you don't look insane." The Winter King hummed, "If you define it like that, then yes I do suppose I am rich.".

Simon landed on a smart looking black suit taking it off the coat rack carefully and brushing it with his hands as if too remove any dust. "You have a fine taste in suits, ill admit that much." The Winter King nodded from where he was sitting.

"Why don't you try it on?" Simon began looking around for a changing room. "You don't happen to have a spare room I can change in?" The Winter King threw his hand up to his mouth "I am ever so sorry! I've never needed one before as its usually just me using my closet." Simon sighed "Just turn around, I know we technically are ment to have the same body, but I can say we don't exactly look the same." The Winter King raised a closed hand to his eyes and straightened his other arm out in a thumbs up "Go ahead! I cant see a thing."

Simon sighed and grumbled to himself, what would be the point in arguing? He hastily pulled off the tattered suit and put on the fresh one, the torso of the material slumping down until it reached his mid thigh as the pants crumpled up around his ankle's.

The Winter King tutted "Oh my, that doesn't fit well at all." Simon snapped his head around "I didn't say you could look yet!" The Winter Kings eyes widened "Oh, Was I ment to keep my hand there?"

Simon huffed "Yes! oh whatever. Can you tailor this suit any? maybe get your ice scouts to sew it up a little?" The Winter King stood up and waved his hand around in the air "Oh I can do all that myself, no need to call for the scouts." Simon nodded hesitantly "Your handy with a needle?" The Winter King laughed again "Oh heavens no! But my powers do more than must making ice, how do you think I charged Cakes phone?"

he approached Simon and began folding the fabric up until to reached an appropriate and wearable length. "You know its technically Fionna's phone, right?" The Winter King didn't acknowledge him, brushing his hands along Simons waist.

''Getting a little familiar there?" Simon warned, placing his hands on his hips. "Oh hardly! I just want to get the material in the right position before I make anything permanent." Simon nodded and raised his arms again, allowing the Winter King to resume working. "But you know, I wasn't lying when I said i thought about kissing you."

The Winter King snapped his fingers and the suit magically pulled stitched tight, making the fabric fit snugly. "Excuse me?" Simon choked out, lungs startled by the sudden tightening of the material. "Of course I had only ment it in a scientific way, pure curiosity."

The King stood up and faced Simon placing a hand delicately under his chin, tilting his face only slightly to meet his own. "Aren't you curious? If two different versions of one being shared such an intertwining moment, would it tear a rift in the multiverse?"

Simon stammered any response he tried to get out, finding that meeting the Winter Kings gaze was more difficult than ever. But before he had the chance to properly gather his thoughts and put together anything else but spluttering, the Winter King pulled his face close and pressed his icy lips into Simons.

After a few lenghty seconds The Winter King pulled away with a disappointed expression on his face. "I guess not, oh well. Ill meet you out side once your finished changing, shoes are on the rack over there." He pointed to a metal rack filled with expensive looking leather shoes before briskly leaving the room, making no noise as he exited.

Simon fell to the ground involuntarily, dumfounded. What just happened??. He brushed his fingers past his own lips, feeling the chill that lingered.

"Oh, my."
