Chapter Text
(There are some French words. I'll put translations of you want me to!)
"Marinette!" A muffled noise yelled from the room below.
"Mmph-" Marinette groaned, tossing and turning around in her bed. Not wanting to get out of bed, comfortable enough in it that the warmness consumed her.
"Marinette!" The same voice screeched, coming closer.
"Marinette. Sweetie!" Sabine, Marinette's mother, opened the small entrance to her room, "Réveille-toi! (wake up), it's your first day of 9th grade!"
"Noooo." Marinette cried, the noise being made quieter because her face was in the pillows, "Ugh, why today of all days?"
"Oh, hush. " Sabine laughed softly, "It's a big day."
"Only a big day of possible disaster." Marinette huffed, shoving herself under the warm blanket, which was now being thrown off by Sabine.
Marinette shivered.
"Up, up!" Sabine smiled, folding Marinette's blankets.
"Mmph-" Marinette stretched, slowly sitting up.
"Get dressed. You have to leave in 10! Dépêche-toi! (Hurry up!)"
Marinette frowned, slowly climbing down. Sabine rushed downstairs to quickly gather Marinette's breakfast. Marinette slipped off the rail, hitting the ground hard. Clumsily, you might say, like she always did.
"Oop." Marinette scratched her head, getting back up.
Her parents, Sabine and Tom, looked at each other downstairs in the kitchen, and smiled. Marinette nearly always had been a clumsy girl. She got up and went to search through her closet. Gone were the days of her pink capris, white tank-top with cherry blossoms sown into it, a old yet fashionable greyish- black jacket and pink flats. Today, she wanted to try something new. Something brave. Something different.
Adrien's POV:
I looked up at the ceiling, slowly twisting my black ring in hopes of calming down. My breath was increasingly becoming faster. A knock appeared at my door, pulling me out of my wandering thoughts.
"Adrien?" Natalie, my father's assistant, walked in.
"Good morning, Natalie." I pouted, eyes wandering back to the ceilings.
"Good morning, Adrien. You must leave for school in the next ten minutes or you'll be late."
"I don't wan- Oh, yes, you're right!" My eyes widened, quickly jumping out of bed. Today was the first day of school. Real school. Freedom.
Natalie smiled, as she walked out the door, closing it behind her. "Your father is waiting for you downstairs."
I rushed around, finding clothes in a somewhat dirty room.
"Are you ok in there, Adrien?" I hear Natalie ask.
"Uh-huh!" I mumbled, shirt in my mouth, putting on my jeans. I smoothed down my shirt and looked in the mirror.
"Looking good." I finger-gunned and grabbed my phone, walking out of my bedroom door.
"Adrien." My father coldly coughed out, loud and clear, as I walked towards the staircase.
"Yes, Father?" I moved down the stairs, slowly, until I reached his stare. He was silent for a few moments.
He softly smirked. "Have a good day."
I smiled softly back.
"Thank you, Father. I will."
Walking out the door, I let a sigh. I was finally free. Maybe today will be different.
