Winston closed the book, carefully placed it on the floor, lay down, and threw the quilt over the two of them.
How naive.
When he woke up, he felt like he had slept for a long time, but a glance at the old clock told him it was only eight thirty. Sleepy, he stayed in bed for a while longer; then he heard in the yard the usual song sung at the top of someone's lungs, which woke up the naked woman beside him. Julia woke up when she heard it, lazily yawned, and got up.
