<Grian> awh, have i got a little kitten on my hands today? how cute!

Grian smiled, setting his communicator down. He straightened his shirt collar, his wings fluttering behind him. The MCC Pride event had just ended, Grian having worn all yellow and even coding his wings to yellow for the event. His team hadn’t won, but he’d had quite a lot of fun during the event.

He hummed softly to himself, adjusting the bandana on his head. The trans flag, gifted to him by Scott himself. It stood out against the sheer amount of yellow the man wore, but he liked it a lot. Grian waved to his teammates as he made his way to the exit portal, Shelby attempting (and failing) to wave at him with her soft drink in her hand.

Grian clicked a button, and soon enough he was back home. He closed his eyes tight as the portal worked its magic, not wanting to experience the nausea that followed interdimensional travel right after an event.

He spread his wings, still a bright yellow, taking off with the help of rockets. Who looked to be Impulse shopped below, and Grian waved as he began to glide.

Flying was fun for Grian, always had been. He had the advantage of having wings since birth, not having to earn his from the End. He’d learned to do tricks and barrel rolls and flips mid-air from quite a young age, even learning most of his tricks from Pearl, his older sister.

Scar’s tree began to come into view as Grian swooped lower, flapping his wings to land perfectly in front of the little’s house. He pulled his spare key off of his keyring, twisting it to open the door. Scar had given it to him at the start of the season, saying that he could come in whenever he wanted if Scar wasn’t able to answer the door.

“Hel-looo~! Where’s my little kitty now?” Grian called with a chuckle. He heard the shuffle of feet and looked up, finding a head peeking over the bannister. Scar grinned, his long hair put up into a ponytail, a pair of fluffy cat ears rested neatly on his head. He waved, before finally disappearing to a place Grian couldn’t see.

Grian grinned, making his way up the spiral staircase, liking the feeling of the cool gold under his gloved hands. He made his way to the top of the stairs, slipping his shoes off and setting his toolbelt down where Scar couldn’t reach. Speaking of, Scar laid on the floor in the large cat bed Grian had gotten him, an artificial tail clipped onto a belt. His eyes lit up when he saw Grian, immediately crawling to the man.

Scar greeted Grian by nuzzling under his chin, resting his head in the crook of Grian’s neck, his arms wrapped around his torso. Grian happily ran his hand through Scar’s hair, petting his head until he let go. Scar made a happy sound not far off from a purring noise.

“G’! Missed chu a lot! Made myself comfy in da bed, see? ‘S one o’ your sweaters in there. You lef’ it here ‘n’ is mine now,” Scar giggled, and Grian watched him fumble with the chewelry around his neck before successfully getting the necklace into his mouth. He smiled, following Scar back to the cat bed. It looked like the boy had made some sort of a nest, pillows and blankets arranged in a circle with a small pile of toys at the center.

Grian gasped in happiness, sitting just outside the bed just in case Scar didn’t want him to come in. Scar didn’t like the idea of Grian not being in his nest, quickly pulling his caregiver in alongside him. He pouted, holding Grian close. “Wan’ chu here. Righ’ here wif ma,” Scar grumbled. He must have realized his negative tone of voice, however, and left a tiny kiss on Grian’s cheek to make up for it.

“Okay, sweetheart. I’m right here,” Grian smiled, stroking Scar’s hair. He tucked long bits behind the boy’s ears, scratching where they met his neck. Scar meowed, leaning into Grian’s hand. He smiled, patting the small boy on the head. “Such a sweet kitty, you are,” Grian smiled. Scar meowed again at that, wrapping his other arm around Grian’s torso, looking for cuddles.

“Sweet prince?” Grian asked, slowing his hand on Scar’s head. The little mewed in acknowledgement, tilting his head into one side. Grian smiled, pulling Scar’s bangs out of his face.

“Can we go through our checklist quickly? I just want to make sure you have everything you need, okay, sunshine?” Scar nodded, his feet kicking happily in the air. He pulled a small mouse plushie toy towards him, playing with the squeaker and giggling when it squeaked.

“Alright. Do you have your onesie?” Grian asked, already seeing it on the boy. Scar proudly showed his front to Grian, playing with the soft cotton of the fabric. He meowed in response to Grian’s question, chewing on his necklace.

“What about your necklace? Do you have that?” Grian asked. Scar giggled, pulling the chew necklace out of his mouth and showing it to Grian with a small laugh.

“Yous is so silly, G’! ‘s RIgh’ here!” Scar giggled, putting his head back into Grian’s lap. He held the squeaky toy above his head, looking at it in wonder as he squeaked it. Grian chuckled, fluffing up Scar’s hair again, fixing his cat ears on his head.

“Oh, you’re right! I’m so silly sometimes! I can’t help it, you’re such a smart kitten!” Grian complimented. Scar seemed to like that a lot, happily nibbling at Grian’s shirt and grabbing his hand to hold.

“Okay, do you have your paci?” Grian asked. Scar thought for a moment, patting around the floor of the cat bed for his pacifier. He slid his hand under the wall of blankets with a frown, his happy smile only coming back when he found the item. Scar spit out his chew necklace, replacing it with the pacifier.

Grian chuckled. “I don’t think you’ll have this next one, sunflower…” he started. Scar looked up at him in curiosity, big green eyes seeming to sparkle. Grian couldn’t help but tap the tip of his nose with a “boop”! Scar giggled, fidgeting with his tail and moving it to the side.

“Do you have your diapers? The new ones?” Grian asked. Scar pressed his lips together before burying his head into Grian’s shoulder. Reluctantly, the little shook his head, and Grian chuckled.

“It’s alright, hun. Do you want me to help you put one on? Grian asked. Scar cheered, happily rolling over. Grian chuckled, unzipping the front of Scar’s onesie.

Once he was done and Scar was comfortable, he let the small boy curl up in his lap like he had done before. Scar curiously played with the untucked cotton of Grian’s shirt, tracing the stripes with his finger.

“Pwetty,” Scar remarked. Grian smiled.

“Awh, thank you! You’re so sweet, little kitten,” Grian reached down and kissed the tip of Scar’s nose, scratching his head with a smile. Scar made a sound not far from a purr, his hands flapping in delight. Grian straightened the cat ears on Scar’s head with a grin, the small boy tugging at Grian’s shirt.

“You can play with that,” Grian smiled. Scar’s pupils went wide, batting at the end of Grian’s shirt like it was his prey or a cat toy. Scar had one, a little mouse on a string that he loved to bat at and chew, but in the moment he decided that Grian’s shirt was much, much better.

Scar happily twisted the fabric in his hands, and Grian unbuttoned a button at the bottom to make it easier. Grian chuckled, pulling Scar’s legs around his waist, picking him up. Scar looked up at him with a curious look, releasing his grip on Grian’s shirt.

“Hello, sweetheart,” Grian beamed, laying back into the pillows slightly to support Scar more easily. “Is my little kitty doin’ good?” Scar nodded, looking up at Grian with big baby eyes. He tugged his pacifier out of his mouth, wiping his lips with his sleeve. Without that in the way, he stretched up to kiss Grian on the cheek; just a gentle peck. Grian cooed.

“Awh, thank you, buttercup!” Scar beamed, kissing Grian on the cheek again. He pawed at Grian’s face, tapping the tip of his nose. “You are adorable , little one!” The small boy cheered, holding onto Grian’s hand and squeezing it tight. Grian squeezed back, looking down at Scar. He pawed at the cat ears on his head, shifting them so that they sat straighter.

Scar yawned, shoving his pacifier back into his mouth. He stretched his arms into the air before pushing Grian back slightly, lying on his chest. Grian smiled, folding his hands over Scar’s back to  keep him in place, laying down fully. “So sweet,” Grian remarked, kissing the tip of Scar’s nose. “Are you tired, little one?”
Scar nodded, rubbing his face into Grian’s shirt. He shut his eyes, Grian holding onto his hand. Grian smiled, rubbing circles into Scar’s hand with his thumb.

“You can sleep, it’s okay!” Grian kissed the top of Scar’s forehead. Scar made a happy noise akin to a purr, burying his head into his caregiver’s shirt, twisting it with his fingers.

“Ni’ ni’,” Scar mumbled. Grian’s hand found the little’s hair, tugging it out of the ponytail and playing with it.

“Goodnight, little love.”
