Ahsoka's eyes widened in surprise as Maul's grip tightened around her wrists. She struggled against his hold, her heart pounding in her chest. The room fell silent, the only sound echoing through the air was their heavy breathing.
Maul's piercing gaze bore into her, his voice low and filled with a mix of amusement and frustration. "You rely too much on your weapons, Lady Tano. True power comes from within."
Ahsoka's mind raced, searching for a way to break free from Maul's grasp. He had warned her that he would not be as easy of an opponent as the practice droids she was used to sparring with, but she had not expected him to get the upper hand so quickly.
She shifted her weight, trying to find leverage, but Maul's grip was firm. He continued to watch her, his face a mask of concentration.
"Don't hold back," she finally said, her voice strained. "I can take it."
A ghost of a smile flickered across Maul's lips, and he increased the pressure on her wrists, his eyes never leaving hers.
Ahsoka felt her body tense, the Force flowing through her as she prepared for his next move. She could feel his muscles coiling, like a serpent preparing to strike. She braced herself, ready to deflect whatever attack he threw at her.
As quickly as it began, the moment passed. Maul released her, stepping back and lowering his arms. Ahsoka watched him, warily.
"Are you going to tell me what that was all about?" she asked, rubbing her wrists.
Maul's eyes flashed with irritation. "You were holding back."
Ahsoka crossed her arms over her chest. "So what? You were too."
Maul shook his head, his gaze never leaving hers. "I was merely giving you the chance to demonstrate your skills. I have no interest in defeating you if you're not even trying."
Ahsoka felt a flicker of annoyance. She stepped closer to him, her eyes narrowing. "I wasn't holding back, you were. If we're going to train together, we need to be honest with each other. Otherwise, what's the point?"
Maul studied her for a moment, then inclined his head. "Very well. I will not hold back any longer. If you're certain you can handle it."
Ahsoka lifted her chin, her expression determined. "I can handle anything you can throw at me."
The two of them circled each other, the Force pulsing between them. Ahsoka felt a new wave of determination wash over her, her muscles tensing.
She would not give up.
She would not yield.
Maul attacked, his movements swift and powerful. Ahsoka dodged, her hands curled into fists. She struck out, landing a blow against his chest.
Maul grunted, his eyes flashing. He struck back, his fist catching her in the side.
Ahsoka winced, her ribs aching. She ducked under his next blow, spinning around and kicking his legs out from under him.
Maul fell to the floor, landing on his back with a thud. Ahsoka pounced, straddling him and pinning his arms to the ground.
Maul glared up at her, his expression dark. Ahsoka grinned, "Do you yield?" she asked, her voice triumphant.
Maul's gaze burned into her, his eyes blazing. Ahsoka felt a flush spread across her cheeks, her heart had begun hammering in her chest.
Maul's muscles rippled as he broke free, flipping there positions so she was beneath him, her arms now pinned above her head. His face was mere inches from hers, his hot breath fanning over her.
"Never," he growled, his eyes never leaving hers.
Ahsoka stared up at him, her eyes wide. The moment seemed to stretch on forever, the air thick with tension.
She felt a strange sensation in the pit of her stomach, her pulse racing. She swallowed hard, her mind struggling to comprehend the sudden shift in their dynamic.
"Do you yield?" he demanded, his voice low and dangerous.
Ahsoka opened her mouth, but no words came out. She stared up at him, her heart racing frantically.
Maul's gaze searched hers, his expression inscrutable. He lowered his face closer to hers, his eyes boring into her own.
"Do you yield?" he asked again, his voice barely a whisper.
Ahsoka's breath caught in her throat, her chest rising and falling rapidly. Her mind raced, her emotions a confusing whirlwind.
What was happening?
Why was he so close?
What was this feeling?
Maul leaned in closer, his face mere inches from hers. She could feel his hot breath against her skin, which sent a shiver down her spine.
She couldn't tear her eyes away from his, the intensity of his gaze almost too much to bear.
She could feel his body pressed against hers, the heat of his skin burning through her clothes.
Her mind was reeling, her body trembling with a mix of emotions she didn't fully understand.
Ahsoka could feel the tension between them, the air crackling with electricity. Her heart was beating so fast, she was certain he could hear it.
Maul's gaze dropped to her lips, and her breath caught in her throat. His eyes were hooded, his expression intense.
She could feel her body responding to his closeness, a heat spreading through her. Her pulse raced, her skin tingled.
She became acutely aware of how their bodies were positioned. How she was laying beneath him, his hips pressed against hers.
Ahsoka licked her lips, her mouth suddenly dry. She couldn't seem to look away, her mind struggling to make sense of what was happening.
Maul's gaze darkened, his eyes following the movement of her tongue. He lowered his face closer to hers, his breath feathering over her lips.
"Do you yield?" he breathed, his voice deep and husky.
The door to the training room suddenly opened, and they both jumped.
Ahsoka looked up to see Ezra entering the room, an oblivious smile across his lips.
"Hey, guys, what's... up?" he said, his voice trailing off as he noticed their compromising position on the floor. “What are you doing?”
They quickly separated, a blush spreading its way across her Lekku. “Sparring.” Ahsoka answered abruptly.
“Do you think Sabine will let me do.. that kind of sparring? He asked, raising an eyebrow.
Ahsoka felt her face flush, the memory of Maul's weight on top of her, how he had been so tantalisingly close and how she wanted..
Ahsoka shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts. "Maybe we should take a break." She said, glancing at Maul.
Maul nodded, his expression unreadable.
The two of them walked towards the door, as Ahsoka tried to ignore the fluttering in her stomach.
She couldn't help but wonder what would have happened if Ezra hadn't walked in.
And if she had uttered the words she so desperately wanted to.
I yield.
