    Bucky’s just staring at him in that closed-off way again, the one that gives Steve no clue as to what’s going on in his head. He seems to be waiting for something.
    Steve decides to push, just a little bit.
    He picks up a washcloth and kneels next to the tub. Bucky swallows thickly, but he doesn’t flinch this time. He dips it into the water, and raises it to Bucky’s chest, close but not touching. “Is it…is this okay?”
    Bucky nods faintly. He’s trembling again. His eyes flutter shut as the cloth touches his skin and he exhales shakily, but he doesn’t pull away.
