Work Text:
“Oh come on Wanderer I gave them back to you already!” Lumine whines.
Wanderer grunts, refusing to look at Lumine. Lumine sighs. “Y’know I’ve taken Heizou’s artifacts away from him multiple times and he doesn’t care.”
“Hm well then I’m glad that he doesn’t care about them. But I don’t see what that has to do with me.” Wanderer says still not looking at Lumine.
Lumine groans. “You’re annoying I hope you know that.”
Wanderer let’s put a breathless laugh. “I’ve been called worse.”
Lumine’s about to speak again but then someone else speaks. “Hey traveler!”
Lumine turns her head and sees Childe walking towards the two. “Oh hi Childe.”
“Good morning. Who’s this?”
Wanderer finally turns around and looks at Childe. “Just call me-“
Lumine interrupts him. “His name is Kewni and sorry if he’s a little rude today he’s having a temper tantrum.”
Kewni immediately glares at Lumine and scowls at her, which Lumine ignores. “I’m not having a temper tantrum worm. And stop calling me that disgusting nickname!” Kewni looks at Childe. “Call me Wanderer or Hat Guy.”
Childe chuckles. “I don’t see how either of those are better than Kuni but okay. I’ll call you Wanderer.”
You’d know why if you knew why they call me that and how she decided to spell it.
“So why are you guys fighting?”
Lumine sighs. “He’s just angry that I had to borrow his artifacts. Even though I told him that’ll happen sometimes.”
“I just don’t see why you can’t just get him his own set.”
Lumine glares at Kewni. “Don’t say anything to me about farming artifacts. You have no idea how hard it is to even get an okay artifact. Not to mention the fact that I’m currently resinless and I don’t really feel like using fragile resin. And whenever I decide to do the dance of steel domain I always get maiden beloved which is completely useless for Heizou because I’m not making him a healer! So suck it up Kewni.”
Kewni doesn’t say anything but he maintains contact with Lumine. Soon enough Lumine leaves the kitchen without another word.
“Hm I don’t think I’ve ever seen her go out on a tangent like that.”
Wanderer murmurs something and turns around and is about to start cooking but Childe stops him. “Oh wait before you do that.”
I just want to make myself something to eat.
Wanderer groans. “What do you want Childe?”
Childe blinks. “Oh so you know me?”
Kewni rolls his eyes. “Of course I do. You’re the eleventh of the Fatui harbingers.” *The only tolerable one of them.*
Childe smirks. “Oh and yet you act like this knowing who I am. That takes courage.”
Wanderer stares at him. “Well you are only the eleventh. Now what do you want.”
Childe stares back at him. Usually Childe would be offended by anyone who acted like this towards him without a care but for some reason he only felt amused.
He laughs. “I like you. But I was gonna say that I can cook for us if you’d like.”
Wanderer looks at him for a moment before asking. “What’re you gonna cook?”
“Probably just some soup. That’s fine right?”
“As Long as it’s not too sweet I don’t really care.”
Childe smiles. “Okay it won’t be too sweet. I promise that comrade.”
Wanderer nods and walks out of the kitchen. “I’ll be in the garden.”
“Okay I’ll be there in a bit.”
Soon enough Childe finishes cooking the soup and eats with Wanderer in a content silence.
