It'd been three whole weeks since Amity left Odalia's home. She hadn't moved out of the actual manor, but it was no longer Odalia's home as Alador had divorced her and kicked her out. Amity was definitely happy to finally be free of that vile woman, but after all she'd been through with fighting Belos and being turned into a puppet by the Collector, she couldn't help but miss the stability of the world before the Day of Unity. Despite the constant comforting presence of her girlfriend, Amity couldn't help but feel alone.
Amity paid attention to the cracked streets and the broken homes, doing her best to help repair the roads and houses that had been ravaged by the Collector's games and Belos' infection. Although every city on the Boiling Isles had essentially become a collection of slums, it was actually quite nice to see everyone coming together as a community. Walking through the wasteland she now called her home, Amity wondered if despite all the suffering, the Boiling Isles had become a paradise in its own twisted way.
Luz heard what sounded like a gunshot ringing out at the wreckage that used to be some sort of station, but it was actually just a failed potion. She also met a street urchin who'd been left for dead, and helped them find some shelter. The Collector had already made a portal back to the Human Realm and Luz couldn't help much with the reconstruction, which made her wonder why she was still there. Luz from a few months ago would've just left after realizing it wasn't her ideal fantasy world, but for some strange reason (her friends and girlfriend were a pretty strange bunch after all) the Boiling Isles felt more like her home than Earth ever had, and she never wanted to leave.

Though the entirety of the Boiling Isles had essentially descended into slum status, it was actually still quite a nice place especially now that Belos was gone. Amity laughed as Luz twirled her around; it'd been six whole months since she'd left Odalia's home. The reconstruction was progressing well, and it made her wonder why she was still here. After all, the portal was freely available and she'd lived in the Human Realm before. Yet for some strange reason, the Boiling Isles had truly come to feel like her home and she was never going to move away (unless Luz did, of course). Luz had helped a lot of people fix their broken homes, and while some still called it slums, some were calling the Boiling Isles a nice place to live again. She missed her birthday while wandering through the wasteland she now called her home, but Luz was sure that despite all the disasters its people had suffered, the Boiling Isles had become a paradise in its own twisted way.
