Leo places the bag of peas onto his leg and sighs at the numbing temperature.
He stares back at the TV. Mikey had turned Crognard on a few hours ago and left with the remote which wasn't great because one, he couldn't move without feeling like his leg was going to break in half and two, Crognard will never be as good as Space Hero.
"Hey, you okay, Leo?" April asked, walking around the back of the couch so she could sit down next to him.
"I'm fine. How are you?"
April sighed, "Fine. Except the fact your brother is driving me insane," she complained, rolling her eyes.
"Ah. Which one?" He asked, using his arm to push himself to sit up, wincing when his leg makes the agonising feeling of bone rubbing against bone. He struggled not to scream in pain.
"Donnie. He's just so.. agh! He's acting weird. He's.. obsessed with me. That's weird, right? And it makes me so angry because he acts so proud of himself for it. I just don't know how to bring it up to him."
"That sucks," he chose to get it over with and just moved his leg when-
"I know! You and Raph are the only ones that agreed with me on this. Mikey thinks it's normal, and I can't decide whether Casey is worse or not. It's like he sees some random girl and just has to objectify them. It gross."
"Casey'd.. prolly back off if you asked him," he slurred out, somehow.
April groaned, "Maybe. It's just so confusing. I thought if I made him think I liked him back, he would stop being so weird, but that hasn't changed at all. Sometimes, I feel like I'll never meet a man who actually likes me for my personality and not my, y'know."
"Uh, April, I need to -"
"I'm sure there's people out there who would like me, but I haven't met anyone like that. Ever. Like, you're probably respectful and crap. Why can't more men be like you?"
He sucked in a breath, "Oh, wow. Thanks. But I-"
"Maybe I should give up on love it's all so - oh my god, are you okay!?" She asked, staring straight at his leg.
It now looked even less human, considering the bone has decided to take a vacation outside of his skin.
"Should I get Donnie?" She asked.
"Um.. yes?" He guessed.
"Okay, um, stay here - oh, sorry. You knew what I meant," she said before running towards his brothers lab.
He took in another breath, closing his eyes in an attempt to pretend it didn't feel as bad as it looked.
"Moosh, moosh! I can't watch! Moosh, moosh!"
Leo opened his eyes just to send a glare in the cartoons direction.
"Leo! I told you not to strain your knee!" Donnie shouted, his voice gradually getting louder as he speed walked over to the couch.
"Mmmmh."
"Oh! Wow. That is a lot of blood. April, go get a med kit, please," Donnie requested, examining the bone.
"Okay!" She says, turing to leave and get the item.
Item? Or items? There were more items inside the item, so Leo wasn't sure.
"Monnie.. Is a medkit one item orrr two?" He mumbled.
Donnie did not grace him with an answer for some reason.
His brother instead decided to try to push the bone back in. Leo screamed until he felt something in the back of his throat break.
It was exhausting, feeling each little movement as it pushed itself against what seemed like every single nerve in his leg.
The pain continued as he closed his eyes and turned his head away from his little brother.
When it did stop, his lungs fought for air. Each time he inhaled, it felt like he was breathing in smoke with how much they burned.
He rested his head against the pillow and passed out only a second after he did so.
