Work Text:
They were in the middle of another round of hide-and-seek when Wonwoo suddenly slipped and fell, face-first.
Mingyu almost laughed. However, based on his experience getting lured into a trap made personally by this vampire, Mingyu kept his mouth shut and face straight. Stopping next to the lying still body clad in black robe, he nudged the vampire's back with the tip of his shoe. "Are you still alive?"
"Haven't been for the last millenia, I think," was Jeon Wonwoo's weak reply.
Mingyu slapped himself on his cheek for that stupid question. He cleared his throat first before opening his mouth again, "Feeling tired already, Ahjussi?"
"Shouldn't you be calling me your ancestor?"
"As if!"
Then he heard Wonwoo hissing.
Which got Mingyu blinking in surprise. "Do you feel pain?"
"Unusually yes."
"I thought corpses don't feel pain?"
"Mentally and psychologically, yes. Physically, no."
"So in which kind of pain are you right now, Grandpa Vampire?"
Wonwoo turned to lie on his back. "I haven't drank anything that's not wine since waking up."
A beat. And then. "Oh. So you're thirsty." Another blink. "Wait no. You're hungry, aren't you? For blood?"
Wonwoo winced, clearly suffering. Whether it was from thirst, starving, or Mingyu's endless questioning, only Wonwoo himself knew. "I'm sorry, you get no prize for your correct answer."
"You letting me return to my normal sleeping hours can be the greatest gift of my life, you know."
"And ending the fun? Let's not!" Woonwoo happily chirped. Mingyu's shoulder slumped down. Looking annoyed, the much younger human gruntled. However, the gloomy face did not last long. Eyes widening in curiosity, the youth who had not reach his twenties asked again, "Say, Grandpa Vampire. If I were to feed you my blood, would you end up as my servant?"
Wonwoo was not impressed. "Did you mistake a vampire with other species?"
"So you won't. Sigh."
Feeling a little bit dizzy, Wonwoo replied again, "I will not become your blind servant, but I can track you down and lend you a helping hand or two. Just in case, you know, you got cornered by multiple opponents and ended up trespassing into someone's house again..."
Mingyu unhesitantly slashed his right palm. Sniffling from the stinging pain, he offered his hand to the still weak vampire lying on the ground.
"Swear that you will save me no matter where I am."
"Am I hearing it right? A hunter offering to form a contract with their prey?"
"Do you need my blood or not!"
Wonwoo did not hesitate to grab that bloody hand and pull it close to his mouth.
Thus, an unwritten contract was made.
