Work Text:

The Master ran, fear and anger and so much hunger, hunger more than any being should feel spurring him on as one of the Doctor’s human pets intercepted him, letting out a mad cackle as he slipped away from his chase, down the streets, feeding on humans, sweets, and cooked food alike as he went.

The ever-present thirst for blood stung at the back of his throat, and he was as glad as ever that a Gallifreyan Vampire was a completely different species, and thus biologically different to a Human Vampire, allowing him to bask in the sunlight and consume whatever food he liked as though he’d never been changed.

Unfortunately, it seemed that no matter how much he fed, the thirst grew, and in combination with his rather unstable body, the Master found himself slipping into a bloodlust.

Being stuck in a bloodlust state was similar to getting blackout drunk, in that he had no control or awareness as to what was happening or what he was doing, as such, when his awareness returned, he had no idea how long he’d lost control for, only that it was now dark, and the moon was high in the sky.

There was a small warm body under him from where he’d tackled it, his fangs very firmly in the person’s neck, the sweet taste of blood on the back of his tongue, the person, who could only be a child’s hands were weakly pushing against his arm, to remove his hand from his mouth, trying to free themselves, the Master could hear their heart beating frantically.

The child’s hand dropped and he could hear as their heart began to slow, huffing, he removed his fangs from their neck, glancing down at the child as he sat up, the child, a boy, stared up at him, his eyes wide with fear, and he let out another huff, removing his hand from where he’d been keeping the boy quiet, only to stop short at the boy’s blood filled mouth.

“Shit,” he hissed, just in time to see the boy’s eyes flutter shut.

He swallowed, glancing down at his hand that had been torn open in a way that the boy definitely wouldn’t have been able to do, then reached over and pulled the boy’s jaw down, taking note of the blood still lingering on his tongue.

“Fuck,” he groaned, then glanced around the empty street, then back at the boy on the ground and sighed, shakily standing, ignoring the thirst that was already beginning to return to the back of his throat and clenching his bloodied hand into a fist, letting out a soft hiss at the sharp pain.

He glanced back down at the boy as he let out a whine as his heart stopped, and sighed, bending over and picking him up, “you know what, kid?” he questioned the unconscious child, “I’ve never heard of a human being bitten by another species of Vampire,” he muttered, “I’ve never heard of any interspecies bites, actually, so this is going to be an unfortunately interesting time for us both.”

The Master glanced around the street again, then began walking away, searching for any building that he could safely squat in, where he could get out and feed enough to push back his instincts and any possible bloodlust, and have enough that he could spare his own blood to feed the child once he’d changed.

He sighed again, “fuck.”

Blood

Watching over the unconscious child as he slowly turned was a somewhat uncomfortable experience, especially when the boy’s canines had fallen out, only to be replaced three days later with tiny little fangs.

It had been a surprise, not that it really should have been, to discover the boy had contracted Gallifreyan Vampirism from his bite, there had been no growth of a second heart, or sudden ability to feel time, but his mind had begun to subconsciously feel out around him, searching for him and latching on as soon as it had felt him.

In total, the boy was unconscious for around two and a half weeks, which he’d spent carefully keeping out of the Doctor’s sight, and when the child woke up, his eyes were fully taken over by a deep blood orange colour, covering even his pupils and sclera, giving an additional confirmation that it was Gallifreyan Vampirism.

The boy swallowed several times, then tilted his head to the side and let out a somewhat pathetic whine, and the Master huffed, quickly walking over to him and crouching beside him, pressing his wrist against his mouth so that he could feed from him.

“Shit,” he hissed out as the boy’s fangs pierced his wrist, the child drinking as though he’d never ate anything in his life before he’d been changed, the bloodlust he’d awoken in only helping to spur him on, and the Master had to quickly sit down on the floor as he became lightheaded.

It wasn’t long before the boy unlatched himself from his wrist, curling up under the pile of blankets he’d been burying him in, and drifting off to sleep, and the Master sighed as he sat back, the Drums growing louder with his loss of blood and he groaned, standing up.

Glancing at the child, he shrugged and left the abandoned house he was currently squatting in.

He was very hungry.

Blood

Harry groaned as he woke up, the bright light irritating his eyes from where the sun seemed to be shining directly into them from the window, a quick glance around the room proved that he didn’t know where he was, but he felt oddly safe.

“You’re awake then,” a voice spoke, and he glanced over to where it came from, only to see an oddly familiar man.

He wasn’t quite sure where he recognised him from, and the man seemed to read that on his face as he let out a deep sigh.

“I’m a vampire,” the man informed him bluntly, walking over to him, “I got thrown into a state of bloodlust, and when I came back to my senses, I had bitten you.”

Harry flinched at the reminder as the memory of being tackled to the floor came back to him, “oh.”

The man grimaced, then looked out of the window, “your luck is something else, kid,” he huffed, “if I was a human Vampire, you’d have been unfortunate enough to have that specific strain of Vampirism,” Harry watched as he walked over to the window, “as luck would have it, you’ve got the Gallifreyan strain,” he proceeded to stick his hand out of the window into direct sunlight, turning it about, then pulling it back in, waving it to show that he’d not received any damage.

Harry glanced at the man’s arm, then up at his eyes, opening his mouth to say something, before his attention was caught by an odd feeling in his mouth, he frowned and reached a hand to it and poked at his teeth, quickly feeling the sharp fangs that had replaced his canines.

He blinked in astonishment, and the man sighed, “what’s your name?”

“Harry,” he muttered, pressing another finger against his tooth, causing the man to sigh and grab his hand.

“Stop that,” he huffed.

“They feel weird though,” Harry complained.

The man rolled his eyes, “they will for a while, the same for anything that happens with teeth.”

He frowned up at him, and the man sighed, “you need to feed,” he huffed, lifting a hand to stall his oncoming protest, “I have only just fed you enough to pull you out of your post turning bloodlust, I do not need you slipping back into it and causing havoc in London,” he sighed, moving to sit next to him, “I’m already struggling to keep myself enough to feed both myself and you, while keeping on the lower end of what I need to eat in order to keep the Doctor from finding me.”

The man shoved his wrist in front of his mouth, and Harry could see several scabbed-up bite punctures, likely from where he’d been feeding from him, and before he could say anything about it, a new instinct rose up in him and he latched onto the offered wrist.

The blood had a somewhat tangy taste to it, like citrus, and Harry found that it wasn’t as awful as he’d thought it would be, and it didn’t take too long before he was pulling away, eyes wide in a sort of mortified confusion.

“It’s alright,” the man sighed, lifting his wrist to his mouth and licking the wound, Harry watched as a drop of his blood dribbled down his chin as he pulled it away, “it’s going to take a while before you learn proper control,” he admitted, “that’s why it’s safer for you to feed from me.”

“Why?” he whispered.

“Hm?” the man glanced at him.

“Why didn’t you leave me when you saw what you did?”

The man blinked, “why the fuck would I leave you?” he huffed out, “you’re a child and I turned you, that makes you my fledgling, and my responsibility,” he sighed, “at least until you know how to handle yourself, which could take several decades, or even centuries.”

“Wouldn’t the Ministry of Magic have been able to place me with someone if you had left me though?”

The man blinked at him, “the what now?”

Harry blinked, “the Ministry of Magic, you know, the people in charge of Wizarding Britian?”

He frowned, “I’ve never heard of them.”

“Oh.”

Blood

The man, his sire in Vampire terms, who went by the name of the Master, had checked out Diagon Alley once he’d informed him of where it was, Harry would have gone with him, but he didn’t want to risk being seen by people he knew, plus he was feeling rather tired, and instead remained at the house that they were occupying.

Once he’d returned, he dropped down onto the floor across from him.

“You’re not going back there.”

Harry blinked, “what, why?”

The Master scowled, “unless you want to deal with being shunned and scorned for being a Vampire, you don’t want to go there,” he crossed his arms and scoffed, “as soon as they recognised me as a Vampire, their version of the police were called, all of them tried to attack me as soon as they set eyes on me, I wasn’t even given a chance to talk.”

Harry winced, “really?”

“Yeah,” he sighed, “I’m sorry.”

“It’s not your fault they’re bigoted,” Harry muttered.

“No, but it’s my fault you’re no longer human,” the Master sighed, then glanced out of the window, “we need to get moving soon, we’ve been here too long.”

Harry frowned, “what are we hiding from?”

“The Doctor,” he scowled, “normally I’d be plotting something against him by now, but you’re in a vulnerable state.”

“You shouldn’t put things on hold because of me,” he protested.

The Master scoffed, “Harry, it’s become clear to me over the past few weeks that I wasn’t in the best state of mind to be doing anything, I’m still not in a great state of mind now, but at least I’m able to think of the proper consequences of anything that I do again,” he let out a snort, “I was about to do something stupid, it could have very well put my life at risk.”

Harry blinked, “maybe your instincts knew that and pushed you into your bloodlust to stop that from happening?”

The Master froze, then blinked, “you know, you could be correct.”

Harry shrugged.

Blood

Harry glanced over at the Master from where he was sat on a stool at the breakfast bar as he walked into the house, grumbling under his breath in his native tongue, the melodical words being spat with a venom that clashed with the tone, as he slammed the door shut.

He shrugged and turned back to the laptop the man had given him, only looking back up as he entered the kitchen, sliding a blood bag over to him on the counter.

“So, as it turns out, stealing blood bags from the hospital is a lot easier than it looks,” he hummed, opening the fridge and setting several more into it, “the bad news is a Wizard was there,” he grabbed a reusable straw from one of the draws and tossed it over to him.

Harry grabbed the straw, and shrugged, picking the blood bag up and piercing the top with it, sipping at it as he listened to the man rant.

“Apparently, they’re looking for you,” the Master huffed, “which means we’re going to need to get out of London soon.”

Harry frowned but nodded.

He didn’t want to know what would happen to him should they find him.

Blood

“Dad,” Harry grumbled as the man gently tugged on his hand as they made their way down the street.

It had been three years since the man had turned him, and in that time he’d grown very close and attached to his sire, to the point he’d begun to call him things other than his name, finally settling on ‘Dad’ around a year prior.

His morals had definitely slipped in those years, as proven by his lack of reaction to the dead body they were rapidly approaching, instead his focus was on the blue box that had materialised, which his dad seemed to be oblivious to.

“Dad,” he hissed out again.

“Don’t worry Harry,” the Master muttered, “I know.”

Harry frowned, but said nothing as he quickened his pace to match his sire’s.

The Master let go of his hand as they reached the body, and he looked down at it, tapping the corpse with his foot and letting out a tut, Harry rolled his eyes at his antics, as he listened to his surroundings, being quickly alerted to the Doctor’s presence by the snapping of a twig.

“Doctor,” the Master rumbled out in a purr, and Harry glanced up at him, taking in how his teeth glinted in the sunlight, and he let out a cough to cover the giggle that wanted to come out of him at the sight.

“Master,” he heard the Doctor let out a gasp, “I’ve been looking for you for years, you just vanished.”

He let out a chuckle, “I’ve not been missing, Doctor,” he took a step towards the Doctor and Harry turned to watch them as the man spoke again, “I’ve simply been avoiding you.”

The Doctor sent him a rather offended look at that and the Master let out a deep laugh, “now Doctor, I am ready to continue where we left off,” he took a step back, grabbing Harry’s hand in a tight grip as he did so, the Doctor stared at Harry for a moment, and he stuck his tongue out at the man.

“Do you remember what we were doing three years ago, Doctor?” he whispered.

The Doctor shook his head, and the Master’s lips curled up into a mocking grin, “pity.”

With that, he turned and picked Harry up, rushing off into the streets, and he could see over his shoulder as the man tried to keep up with them, being quickly blocked by someone.

“The game’s on, Harry,” the Master chuckled.

Harry let out a hum of agreement.

Blood

Bringing Gallifrey back was out of the question, but cloning himself over the entire human population was simply hilarious, hence the sudden influx of himself across the globe.

He could see the Doctor looking around in confusion as he kept bumping into him, and then eventually getting cornered, managing to pull of a quick escape at the last minute, not realising or simply ignoring the fact that he’d let him go.

No, the Doctor’s capture was all up to Harry, as he worked on setting up several smaller plans for when he was forced to let go of all of his clones, helped by the knowledge carried by each individual version of himself.

Eventually he had a solid seventy-nine plans ready to go should he need them, and he grinned as he turned his attention instead to the second part of this particular plan.

Destroying the magical population, or at least their buildings.

Several of the clones were Witches and Wizards, and their mix of knowledge allowed them all to bypass all of the magical protections that had been placed onto several buildings, as such, he made quick work of both the Ministry of Magic, and Diagon Alley.

After this, he’d work on something actually threatening to the Doctor, perhaps taking a sample of his TARDIS and using it to grow another in an Earthen laboratory, all while moving several nukes from different countries to a warehouse in England for his personal use.

Blood

Harry hummed as he passed several versions of his dad who weren’t his dad on the streets, ducking out of the way as they all subconsciously attempted to ruffle his hair, a habit he’d picked up which Harry didn’t typically mind, but when hundreds of versions of him were trying to do it each time he passed them, it got a bit frustrating.

He skipped down the road as he followed the directions that the GPS device his dad had given him were showing, stopping in front of the house that it stopped at and peered through the window, eyes widening in shock as he recognised the man that the Doctor was sat in the house with, before furrowing his brows in confusion and walking back towards one of the several Masters that were stood around.

“This is supposed to get every human, right?”

The clone nodded, absently petting Harry’s hair, “it should do, why?”

“There’s a human in that house,” he pointed over at it, “with the Doctor.”

“Oh?” the man hummed, tilting his head and grinning, “well then, let’s pay them a little visit, shall we?”

Harry nodded, and the Master in a rabbit onesie grabbed his hand and tugged him over to the house, slamming the door in as he went.

“Oh Doctor!” he called out, “I’ve come for a visit.”

“What!” Harry could hear the Doctor call out as he followed him into the house, glancing around at the somewhat old fashioned furniture and decorations that were around.

“This shouldn’t be possible,” the Doctor peered out of the doorway, then back into the room, “I thought you said the windows were warded?”

“They are, that man shouldn’t be able to see us through it.”

There was a moment of silence as the Doctor glanced back at the onesie wearing Master, then over his shoulder at Harry, who waved at him as he gaped at him.

“What about anyone else?” he called back as the Master took a step towards him.

“There’s no-one else around, I saw no need.”

“Shit,” the Doctor huffed, and Harry grinned.

“I like your house, Snape,” he called out, grinning widely and showing off his fangs as the man rushed over to the door that the Doctor was stood in.

He stared at him in shock, his skin going pale from it, and Harry chuckle.

“What’s wrong? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”

“You’re supposed to be dead,” he whispered.

Harry giggled, “I am!”

The Master let out a cackle at his words, causing Snape to pull his wand out.

“What are you and what have you done to him?” he snarled.

His dad pouted, “oh honestly, put that silly stick away, I’d never hurt him,” he tilted his head, “well, never intentionally, at least.”

“What do you mean by that?” the Doctor hesitated.

“Oh, you know, slip into a bloodlust, next thing you know you’ve changed a child,” Harry carefully slipped over next to the Doctor and Snape as his dad spoke, “he’s got a bit of a thing for blood now.”

“A vampire,” Snape huffed, “I don’t buy it, neither of you needed permission to enter my house.”

“It’s not the typical strain of Vampirism,” the Doctor hissed out, “they’re also able to go in the sunlight without issue, although they do have their own drawbacks.”

The Doctor looked as though he would have continued talking if it weren’t for the needle that Harry had stuck into his leg, quickly working to knock the man unconscious, the Master rushing over to knock Snape out as he did so.

“Good boy,” the Master purred, ruffling his hair, “now, I do believe there’s a version of myself with a car waiting outside for us.

Harry nodded and helped him to lift the Doctor.

Blood

The Doctor groaned as he slowly woke up, a sound nearby had him looking over, and realising that he was strapped to a chair, and Severus was bound to another, less kinky looking chair across from him also awake, but very much gagged by a piece of cloth.

“Dad,” a young voice called out, and the Doctor was suddenly reminded of the Master’s fledgling child.

He’d known for centuries that the Master was a Vampire, had occasionally fed him when the circumstances called for it, which was how he knew that the man’s clone was telling the truth about the child being turned during bloodlust, because the other Time Lord had never had any interest in turning anyone.

“Yes, Harry?” the Master’s voice was slowly growing closer.

“Can I eat Snape?”

Severus’ eyes widened in slight panic at the boy’s question, and the Doctor couldn’t blame him.

The Master sighed, “not yet,” Snape’s relief was short lived as the man continued, “I have use for him at the moment, you can eat him when I’m done.”

“Yay!”

The boy ran into the room, eyes wide with excitement as he passed in front of the Doctor, followed quickly by the Master, who stopped next to him, a look of obvious fondness on his face as he glanced at the child, “isn’t he cute?”

The Doctor didn’t respond.

Blood

Harry frowned as he rushed down the hallway after the Doctor who had gotten free, while his dad had already destroyed the Magical districts across the globe, he still had plans that hadn’t even been started, and they couldn’t start if the Doctor was free to mess with his dad.

He turned a corner, only to reel back in shock as the Doctor threw a ginger root at him, the smell causing him to urge as he backed away.

“Ginger?” he heard Snape question.

“Yep,” the Doctor agreed, “human Vampires have a garlic intolerance, Gallifreyan ones have a ginger one instead.”

Harry scowled, pinching his nose and carefully edging around the offending plant, quickly rushing after them as they headed to the staircase.

“That didn’t keep him away from long.”

“Well no,” he agreed, “but neither does garlic with your strain, unless the area’s been prepared with it beforehand.”

“Good point.”

Blood

Harry scowled as he pounded his fist against the psychic barrier keeping him from getting out of the Doctor’s TARDIS.

“Child lock,” the Doctor grinned at Snape from outside, “guess the Master forgot to inform him about that.”

“Let me out!” he hissed.

The Doctor tutted, shaking his sonic screwdriver in front of his face, “no can do!” he grinned, “I know you’re trying to capture me for the Master, and I know that if you get out you can and will do exactly that,” he pointed the sonic at him, scanning him with it, and Harry let out a frustrated hiss at it, “besides if I have you here, the Master will come to me, and that will make my life a lot easier.”

Harry backed away from the door, then charged at it full speed in the hopes that he’d somehow be able to slip past the barrier, only to be knocked out by the force against his mind.

The Doctor sighed, “he’s been around the Master too long.”

Snape scoffed, “he’s always been a little shit, took after James.”

“Is that true or are you just projecting your childhood bully onto him?” the Doctor questioned, glancing at his screwdriver thoughtfully, “you did inform me of the stuff that got found out by that search into his home life when he went missing after all.”

Severus went silent, and the Doctor sighed.

“He’s not his father, if anything I’m sure he’s going to be a lot more like the Master than anything when he’s older.”

“He’s never going to be older,” he snapped.

“That might be true, but he’s still going to live a very long life, and after some point, he’s going to need to be classed as an adult,” he glanced over at Snape, “his body may not mature, but his mind most certainly will.”

Severus sighed, “I suppose that’s true.”

The Doctor smiled, then glanced at the unconscious Vampire in his doorway.

“I should probably grab a blood bag for him for when he wakes up.”

“You go do that.”

Blood

The clone of the Master scowled as he made his way over to the Doctor’s TARDIS, very aware of the short frame of time he had to disable the child lock and get his fledgeling out of the ship and somewhere safe before the Doctor reversed what he’d done.

Stepping into the ship, he was greeted to the sight of Harry downing a blood bag, his eyes tinged blood orange, on the verge of slipping into a bloodlust and he sighed, rushing over to the console and disabling the child lock, ignoring the TARDIS’s protests at him being anywhere near her.

Once the barrier was dropped, he walked over to the boy, and quickly tugged him out of the ship, rushing out onto the streets of London, getting a good fifteen minutes away from the Doctor’s TARDIS before his awareness failed, signalling the Doctor having destroyed the machine allowing him to control the population of Earth.

Blood

Hunger.

It was all he felt as he rushed down the streets, people around him screaming as he shoved a person into a wall, their head hitting the bricks with a sickening crack as he drank their blood, not stopping until there was not even a drop left in their body.

The screaming seemed to spur him on as he staggered over to another person who wasn’t quite quick enough to get away from his grasp.

He was so hungry, he’d never been this hungry, why was he so hungry?

A hand grabbed his shoulder, yanking him away from the person he’d been about to drain, and he turned to face them, hissing his displeasure, before a wrist was shoved into his mouth, and his complaining ceased as he turned his attention instead to eating the offered food.

“This is why I normally feed him myself and supplement human blood as snacks,” he could hear his sire scoff, “you’re lucky he only got five people, it could have been a lot worse.”

Harry blinked as his awareness slowly returned, the hunger slowly fading as he fed, he glanced over at his dad, who was stood leaning against a wall with his arms crossed, and the man rolled his eyes.

“The Doctor has decided to feed you,” he informed him, “something about your bloodlust being his fault because he fed you some weak stuff as a meal instead of a snack as it should be.”

He let go of the wrist, “bloodlust?”

He nodded, and the Doctor moved from behind him, standing near to the Master but not close enough that he could grab him should he decide to run off.

“You need to eat more red meats,” Harry muttered.

The Doctor blinked and the Master snorted.

“Where’s Snape?”

The Doctor sighed, “there’s been an emergency at Hogwarts, something to do with every single magical building having been destroyed,” he glared at the Master and Harry giggled.

The Master gave him a bright grin as he slowly walked next to Harry, and the Doctor sighed.

“As you’re aware, Master, I can’t let you just wander around on Earth unsupervised, you’re a menace, and with a child on top of that? That’s just insane.”

“I never said I was sane, Doctor,” he shrugged.

“Well yes, but that’s not the point, after your last stunt with the paradox and now this, it’s more than obvious that you need someone to look after you.”

Harry could see the steadily growing tension, and interrupted, “hey, is that a spaceship?” he pointed at a random point in the sky and the Doctor turned to look at it.

“What, where?” he cried out.

The Master took that chance to grab Harry and run, followed shortly after by the Doctor who quickly realised that Harry had made a distraction.

He poked his tongue out at the Doctor as he chased them down the streets of London, and giggled as he tripped up.

“Now what?”

“Well, while I was everyone, I had several nukes moved to a location that only I know,” he grinned as he slipped through a group of teenagers, “perhaps I’ll try nuking the moon… or Mars.”

Harry hummed.

“I didn’t get to eat Snape.”

“You can eat him if we see him again.”

Harry grinned.

Notes I have for this on my computer for you:

- Everything's set in the year the Doctor Who episode is set in, which is 2008 or 2009 I think.
- Harry didn't miss his friends because he was still under the assumption that they'd been purposefully ignoring his letters during the summer holiday.
- The horcrux was killed when he was turned.
- Harry eventually kills the Dursleys.
