He had fallen deeply in love, felt butterflies in his stomach every time he was with the young man, and he couldn't help but smile every time he thought of him. Maybe he was stupid for that, but he honestly, he didn't care about being stupid anymore. He could say that he had finally felt what love was, he had liked a person so much that thinking about it now was painful.

Generally he hated summer, that hot weather that didn't let him sleep and all those people showing off their vacations, no doubt he thought that this year everything would be the same; helping his father in the vineyard, going out from time to time with venti or simply walking around the cathedral at night. But everything was different and now he didn't know if that was good, now he didn't know if he wanted more changes in his life.
Kaeya came into his life without knocking and he strangely let him in. He found him on the docks admiring the view of the sea and could not help but marvel at the brunette's charms; that blue hair, athletic yet thin complexion, the dark skin that accentuated his features and that particular shine that radiated from him, and that pair of eyes in which he found a million constellations. Diluc never imagined he was in love with someone like Kaeya, for some strange reason it hurt him too much to think about it now.
at first everything was so pretty, small dates around the city. Sudden encounters and extensive conversations about some common taste, Diluc felt a connection from the beginning. And when he wasn't rejected when he declared his feelings, he became the happiest person in the world. I enjoyed all of Kaeya's kisses and those sweet caresses he gave him.
"youre the brightest star" Kaeya whispered against his ear in moments of intimacy, and Diluc fell completely at that.
He held on to those words every day, even if he didn't see Kaeya he thought about him and how nice it felt to love him, how beautiful he made him feel. He thought that he would keep these moments in his memory the day it all ended, he never imagined it would be so soon.
"I would do anything for you" Diluc told him when they kissed under the stars. Because it was true but now he knew that Kaeya wouldn't do the same.
That night was bright and he felt warm even if the air was cold and tickled. Something inside lit a fire in his heart.
"I had never met someone like you" he believed in that, because it felt so real and so warm.
So beautiful, so sweet and so bitter.
And he believed it was his but soon discovered that it never really belonged to him.
He felt that for the first time someone loved him so strongly, he loved Kaeya with the same intensity. And it hurt him to think that he dedicated so much time to her, so many moments of his life that he would never get back, all of that went to waste the day the summer ended.
Because Kaeya had all the formulas to make him fall in love and he fell for all of them.
