Work Text:
The binding of fate, which destiny is determined from the start. The observer of time, for which it befalls amongst the High Elder. That is until.. a traveling swordsman broke the curse that binds..
“Dan, you can’t do this! Why must you take up this matter!?” Ren called out.
The young man, as calm and collected as he was, couldn’t afford to part with his beloved. As he stood in front of the shell of the god, his destiny..
“I-“ he says as he tries to collect his thoughts, the memories he made with Ren, the memories he made with all his allies.. “I have to do this..”
“Promise you won’t forget me.. Ren.”
“Dan! Please.. nooo!”
The young man accepted his fate, severed the thread of fate that binds them.
“Please.. don’t forget me..”
The swordsman woke up in his room, noticing a thread..
“How oddly strange..”
He follows the thread recalling the memories of his travels, from meeting Kafka, to meeting the members of the Astral Express, to meeting Jing Yuan, Jingliu, and many others.. but he felt something was off..
“Please.. don’t forget me..”
“I remember! Dan, is that you!?”
The swordsman came running, knowing that his beloved was safe..
Or so he thought.
The thread was all but a dream, a dream.. of a future.
A thread that binds, but doesn’t forget..
