17-year-old Luz Noceda was confused. Her boyfriend had broken up with her, but she wasn't as heartbroken as she'd expected. She realized she'd slowly become disillusioned with him anyway; she found out what it took to be a man, and he wasn't that. Her mom and dad didn't understand why they broke up, but she was already over him.

Luz remembered a secret she'd been keeping for a while. It'd been collecting dust, but she'd kept a little gift from her best friend Amity. They'd gotten drunk and had sex once a while back, and this skeleton in her closet was coming to life again. She realized it didn't take a man to satisfy her, but she worried her parents wouldn't understand what was happening to her.

After a lot of trepidation, Luz finally told her parents she was bisexual. She'd figured herself out for the first time, and decided that it didn't take an actual man to be a man, since she felt pretty manly for being brave enough to risk her mom and dad not understanding. She didn't realize what was happening to her until she was wrapped in a hug from both her parents as they congratulated her for her courage and jokingly offered their help with wooing Amity.
