Miraculous ~ Affinity

Summary:

What would happen if Miraculous was set in a boarding school and colt wasn't dead and a bunch of other nonsense happened? This. This is what would happen. :D

Warning: this fic is under hiatus until further notice (and has been for a while). If I come back to it, it will probably be rewritten from scratch! <3

Notes:

Oooo boy okay so for starters if this makes 0 sense I'm sorry lol I'll try and make the lore and stuff as clear as I can
Also!! If anything is badly written or ooc I'm sorry for that 😰 I'm picky so everything will probably be edited a million times
I said graphic violence bc I'm pretty desensitized to violence and I wanna be safe, idk if its actually that bad, it's definitely not anything gory
And also, don't be too sad if I go on hiatus, like my tags say I have never finished anything more than a one shot before in my life 🥲
Anyway I hope u enjoy thiss <33 I had to rewrite it bc it got deleted once already 😭

Chapter 1: less loved than marble stairs

Chapter Text

═════════•°•🐱•°•═════════
Adrien Agreste could barely wait. He was nearly 14, and on that late august night that was extremely important.

He was finally, 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 old enough to get his miraculous.

His gaze moved to his thin wrist, looking at the shimmering gold mark. The mark that proved that he was an affiliate. The mark that connected him to one of the strongest sources of power in the world.

It was a comforting thought, in a world that gave him no power over his own life.

That would all change soon though!!

As long as his father allowed him to go... That was a problem. His father had shown no signs of relaxing his iron grip on Adrien's entire life, a grip that had been extremely present since his mother's disappearance a year ago.

Maybe Nathalie could convince him? She was probably Adrien's best bet.

He stood up from his desk and walked out into the empty house, down the shiny marble stairs that probably got more attention from Gabriel than he did.

He walked towards Nathalie's office and hesitantly knocked.

In seconds, she opened it, her face blank as usual. She showed emotion very rarely. Just like his father. Just like Felix too actually, now that he thought about it.

Was Adrien really the only one apart from Aunt Amelie in this family who could show more than a shred of emotion?

Well, other than his mother. She was plenty emotional. He missed her.

Adrien quickly realized Nathalie was still staring expectantly at him, waiting for him to speak. So he did.

"Uhm... So... It's nearly September..." Why was his voice wobbling so much?

"Yes, it is."

Adrien sighed. He was going to have to be direct about this, wasn't he.

"And... I'm nearly 14.." He continued.

"Yes, you are. Adrien, what is this about?"

He sighed, again.

He opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out, so he closed it.

He raised his arm slightly, showing her the shimmering gold mark. Did she forget?

She was an affiliate, like his father, like him. Of course, he didn't know which miraculous, since it was forbidden to reveal your affinity, but she was an affiliate nonetheless.

"Ah. I'll speak to your father."

Adrien grinned, finding his voice again. "Thank you Nathalie!!"

He resisted the urge to hug her as he turned and ran up the stairs, nearly slipping on the polished marble floor.

He burst into his ridiculously huge room and jumped onto his bed gleefully, landing on his stomach.

If anyone could convince his father, Nathalie could.
