Chapter Text
The mirror was always there.
Sometimes they noticed it.
Sometimes they used it to communicate to other selves, from other timelines.
Sometimes, they didn't notice it at all.
Nevertheless, it was there.
The mirror was always there.
Watching, listening.
Two of them told the mirror stories.
Stories of magic, and golden apples, and despair, and souls, and puppets, and flowers.
The mirror loved their stories.
He started calling them ‘Protector,’ because he told so many stories of protection from evils, and ‘Bluescreen,’ because he had an eye that was like a blue screen (obviously).
The mirror loved Protector like a brother.
Or a father.
But the mirror was curious.
What was it like outside of the doodle sphere and the anti-void? The mirror wanted to see colors! And grass! Grass sounded fun.
So the mirror decided that it would go see these things. It would accompany Protector on his journeys, and finally, FINALLY get to be a part of a story! A real part, not just a background item!
It just needed to find a way to get out.
So the mirror started to push it's way out of the glass.
How? No clue. Maybe the paints on the floor, maybe simply magic.
It was smooth at first.
It was escaping!
It was doing it!
But it's eye.
It would not come free.
Something went wrong.
It hurt.
It stretched like it was a liquid, but it was firm. Trying to pull it back in.
It took both hands,
And pulled.
It- no, he, was free, but only one eye was working.
He gasped for breath on the ground.
was there something wrong?
Was there something wrong with him?
It didn't feel like something was wrong with him.
He looked at himself.
But… He had a reflection.
He had a gold scarf, with a patch of brown in the middle of the scarf tail. He had a small poncho as well. He had little golden freckles on his off- white bone cheeks, as well as a large four-pointed star on his forehead. One eye was melted. Ah. So that's why it wasn't working. But one eye had a pale yellow eyelight with another bright yellow four-pointed star in it.
He reached up at his frame, that he had recently separated from, and took the four-pointed star engraving, and used it for his soul.
Hmm. But something was still missing.
A name! Of course!
Hmm. “❍︎♓︎…❒︎♋︎ ❍︎♓︎❒︎♋︎.” yes, that sounded like a good name.
Perfect!
He was free!
He could do whatever he wanted!
He could touch grass!
He could finally find Protector!
He looked around at the current doodle sphere he was in. It greeted him warmly. He greeted it back. He smiled. Oh! He couldn't do that before! He giggled. Having a body is fun! He liked it!
Now, to start exploring!
Wait, no he had to get his priorities in order.
Find Protector, then explore.
Yes, that was a good plan!
Unfortunately, his thoughts were interrupted
