   Thatcher caught the words “September 1st 1993” written neatly on the blackboard inside but he pretended not to acknowledge it. Ever since he got up out of bed that morning he felt like a countdown had begun somewhere. Loud ticks of some distant clock echoed in his mind and they wouldn’t shut up.
