Scar was sitting in her home, working on an idea for her mega base while also keeping constant conversation with Pearl and Cleo in whispers. They both had been helping her to try and figure out a name to use that fit her just right.
It's not like Scar wasn't bad, in fact she absolutely loved it, but she wanted to try something a little more feminine. However, nothing seemed to really fit her. Nothing could seem to scream out to her as "me"
She sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose, writing out the proper measurements she'd need before screaming when a voice said "Hi Scar". She immediately snapped out of her thoughts and dropped her pencil, looking back to whoever said her name.
She was somewhat relieved to see Grian. She caught her breath as she said "Hi, G" She set her comms down and turned to face him "What brings you here?" Grian hummed before saying "I was bored and in the area. What are you doing?"
"I'm planning out my mega build - figuring out how much things I'm gonna need for it" Scar explained, picking up the blue prints and handing them to him. Grian looked them over and said, raising an eyebrow "A theme park?"
Scar nodded "Yeah. I've been wanting to make one for a while - name it after me as well. I decided why not now. It would be fun and it would pretty much keep my attention"
Grian nodded "It sounds interesting. I'd have to check it out soon" Scar grinned "I'll invite you sometime then" She nods, hearing her comms ping.
She picked it up and saw Pearl suggest another forest themed name. She sighed and said an unfortunate no. She set her communicator down and Grian commented "That sounded like an upset sigh. What's wrong?" He went to sit on her bed.
"Oh nothing. Pearl and Cleo are..." Scar wasn't yet out to Grian about her realization of being a woman, not ready for him to find out yet. She wanted to build an identity for herself before she came out, no offense to Grian. "Insisting on gifting me a girl name. I spent a girls day out with them, helping them gather supplies and they now consider me one of the girls"
She knew she was lying and she was hoping Grian would purchase her lie. Grian raised an eyebrow and said, slow "They're... Gifting you a girl name..?"
Scar nodded "Yep! You.. You know how girls are. They just love.. Gifting other people girl names" She grinned, panicking a little. This is fine. This is fine. This is fine.
Grian looked at her quietly before saying "That's... Okay." He shook his head "Speaking of girl names - or well. On the topic of girls. You finally over your denial?"
"Will you stop saying that?" Scar huffed, ignoring the knowing pang in her chest as she snapped "I'm not in denial. I'm a dude - a guy." Grian raised his hands up "Hey. I'm sorry." He apologized, but Scar felt like he knew something she didn't.
"it's.. Fine. I already told Mumbo to quit asking about it" Scar sighed, going to sit beside him "I didn't mean to snap. I've been stressing out about.. About this mega build"
"I'll lessen up about it, then" Grian said and hugged her. She hugged him back before she said "Just quit asking until I actually give you an answer. Just assume it's a big giant No - which it'll always be"
Grian nodded slightly before humming "I'll tell my sister an idea for what your girl name should be" Scar huffed, friendly punching him "Not you too"
Grian giggled "I want to have fun with it now. You should've never told me about this" He stood up and kissed her cheek "Well. I'm off. I'll see you soon" He said before heading out of the room.
Scar groaned loudly, her cheeks pink at the cheek kiss. She shouldn't have mentioned the girl name thing, but she's never been the best at lying - especially to Grian. She felt her communicator ping and she fumbled with it, popping it open. She saw a message by Pearl saying, "Grian suggested the name Scarlet"
A smile slipped its way onto her face at the name and she grumbled happily, burying her face into her hands. It's either she likes the name because she thinks it's her or it's because one of her closest friends had suggested it.
She sent a quick message saying that it was a nice name and Pearl asked if she liked it to which Scar said yes. Pearl then asked if that was the name that she would like to test out and Scar immediately said yes.
She sighed happily and buried her face into her blankets, smiling so wide. Scarlet. It was close enough to her birth name and was on the feminine side and it was just so perfect. She rolled over to face the ceiling, her mind thinking. How did Grian pick such a perfect name for her?
Pearl didn't tell Grian about her realization, did she? The thought set it's place in Scarlet's mind and she couldn't stop glancing at it. No, Pearl would've never. She wouldn't do that to Scarlet. Scarlet knew coming out was a big thing, after all, Cleo had explained to her how such a thing was.
Scarlet had explicitly laid the boundary to not share it unless she gave the go ahead, and she didn't. She sat up and asked Pearl if she's told Grian yet about her realizing she's a girl and Pearl immediately said no. Scarlet let out a sigh of relief and trusted her word.
She heard a meow and her eyes flicked over to Jellie, who just came back from eating. She smiled and patted for the cat to come sit in her lap, to which Jellie more than happily did. She laid comfortably in Scarlet's lap, purring while Scarlet petted her.
"What do you think about the name Scarlet for me, Jellie? Does it fit?" She asked and Jellie meowed in response, Scarlet taking it as a yes. She grinned and scratched comfortably behind Jellie's ears "I'm glad you agree.."
She continued petting Jellie before saying, again "How do you think I should tell everyone else?" Jellie meowed once more and Scarlet nodded "You know. You're right, Jellie. I knew I could always confide in you" She giggled. "I'll just not even talk about it. Just briefly make a comment about it and not bring it up. Thank you"
Jellie meowed again and Scarlet continued sitting, finding herself in peace. She's got this. She knows she does.

Scarlet was flying through the air, using fireworks to keep up her momentum. She was trying to find at least Mumbo, mainly to test the coming out process. She wasn't actually sure if this was gonna work. Who knows, maybe she'll panic and it'll all come spilling out.
Hopefully not.
She was gonna set off another firework away from Mumbo's building site before she saw a flash of black hair. She eased her speed as she landed in front of them "Hello Mumbo!" She grinned, almost scaring him half to death.
"Oh, Hello Scar" Mumbo said back, tilting his head "what brings you over?" Scarlet hummed before saying "Can't I just visit my greatest friend of all time?" "Uh huh.." Mumbo murmured "Something tells me you're lying"
"I would never" Scarlet giggled.
Mumbo looked at her silently before saying "I might as well get to work on my build. You're free to watch - or not." He started walking off and she quickly followed.
Scarlet hummed as she walked "How was your day?" Mumbo glanced over to her, humming back "It was good, spent most of it collecting building supplies"
"That's good" Scarlet nodded. "and you?" Mumbo asked, tilting his head to look at her. "It was great. Hung out with Pearl and Cleo, found out I was a women, hung out with Jellie, Grian come over to check up, figured out a new name, got bored and decided to fly over"
Mumbo nodded along before stopping in their tracks, staring at her "Wait what?" He asked. Scarlet grinned at them "What?" "You want to repeat that?" Mumbo said, raising an eyebrow. "Mmm... Nah" She giggled before looking at the non existent watch on her wrist "Oh would you look at what time it is. Time to walk Jellie!"
She quickly turned on her heel before rocketing off, giggling all giddy - and nervous. First person down, now it's time for Grian. Hopefully this whole coming out thing will get easier the more she does it.

Scarlet had spent such a while searching for where Grian could be, that she wounded back up to her tree. She sighed and decided that she'll let him find her when the time was right, right now she needed a break to go collecting supplies.
She walked into her tree and nearly bumped into Cub, who was heading out from her basement. "Oh, hey Cub" She hummed. She wasn't expecting Cub to be the next person, but hey, she wasn't gonna complain.
"Hi Scar" Cub said back, looking her up and down "Did you change something? Get a new haircut or outfit? You look new" Scar nodded "Yep! Feel it too. It's probably because I found out I'm a lady."
She heard meowing and looked up at Jellie, who was on the staircade. "Oh! Hello Jellie!" She looked back to Cub "Sorry to cut this short. Jellie needs me!" She then left a stunned Cub in her walk way, walking up the stairs to Jellie "Yes. Yes. I know. I'll give you attention now" she laughed, picking Jellie up.
She carried Jellie in her arms like a little baby as she ascended the stairs, humming. Two people down.

Scarlet was back to sitting in her room once again, still figuring out how many blocks she'll need until she had to start on the - well - start of her mega base. God.. She's so glad that she loves the idea of creating a theme park of her own because if she didn't, she wouldn't be working this hard on it.
She heard a crash against her window and she jumped, eyes wide as she looked over. She laughed when she realized it was Grian. She stood up and stopped before the window, pulling out her comms to tell him she still has glass in her windows.
Grian sent her back a sarcastic comment back before she watched him fly down to her door. She went back to her desk, shutting her book full of notes. Looks like there goes that plan of plotting that out.
She heard footsteps after not too long and saw Grian peek his head up from the stairs. "Hey G. What brings you to my neck of the woods?" She asked, going to sit on her bed. "Boredom. Also Mumbo said you needed to talk to me..?" Grian responded.
Scarlet blinked before realizing what Mumbo meant. She slightly chuckled and said "Right. I didn't tell Mumbo to send you my way. I think he got the message all confuzzled"
Grian tilted his head, asking "What did you say to them?" Scarlet giggled and said, shrugging "Oh nothing too important. It's probably because I told them I'm a lady"
"Oh okay-" Grian started before his eyes grew wide "What?" Scarlet shrugged once more and stood from her bed "I should get started on collecting supplies for my mega build" "Oh no you won't." Grian stood before her. "Did you just say you're a lady?"
Scarlet blinked her lashes innocently "I dunno. Did I?" "You won't trick me, Scar." Grian said, unamused. Scarlet giggled even more and Grian said "How long did you know?"
"Uh.. A couple days ago..? I think."
"You snapped at me this morning about how you're a dude"
"I wasn't ready to come out to you. Now I'm ready to come out to you"
"Oh okay"
"I'm still sorry for snapping at you"
"It's okay, I don't blame you. Like you said, you weren't ready to come out"
Grian pulled her into a hug and she held him back, smiling a little. After a little while, Grian pulled from the hug and sat on her bed as he said, "So... Tell me more about this. Are you keeping your name?"
"I decided on changing on it - as much as I love the name 'Scar'. 'Scar' was associated with a male ideal for me, so... I decided on the name Scarlet" She hummed with a small smile, sitting beside him. "I suggested the name Scarlet to Pearl..." Grian murmured.
"i know. I kinda owe it to you for suggesting it. I would've never found a name if you didn't say it" Scarlet grinned "Thank you, Grian. Actually... Thank you for all of this - you were the catalyst behind me even figuring out I was a lady"
She pulled him into a hug and Grian nodded, half joking "Of course. You're welcome. You just gave off the vibes of someone who needed to have a gender crisis" Scarlet laughed and pulled from the hug, leaning against him.
"Thank you, Grian."
"You're welcome, Scarlet."
