Chapter Text
Luz sucked in a breath through her nose. “Listen, Hooty, I’m telling you–”
“Not LIsteNIng!” The house demon howled. “I wiLL bE viCToRioUs wITh HuNTlow as I waS for LuMity!”
Hooty had heard Hunter was crushing on Willow from Gus and Luz about a month ago, and he immediately got to work on helping him out just as he did with Luz and Amity. The Tunnel of Love 2.0 was revamped with even MORE arrows, hearts and puns, ready for the next pair to be initiated into couple-dom! And Hooty was SET on this. He would help Hunter get the girl, just as he did with Luz!
Hopefully Hunter wouldn’t attempt to destroy it like Luz did.
However, Gus, Luz and Amity had begged Hooty not to go through with it.
“This isn’t something Hunter would want. Or Willow would want, for that matter,” Gus pleaded. “I’m telling you, Hooty, you don’t need to do this. I can interview you for my class project again! How does that sound?”
Hooty wiggled his magnificent neck feathers smugly. “NICe tRyyyy, but I will NOT bE foOLeD!!”
Amity sighed. “Hooty, we really need you–”
“NOOooot LiSTeniNNG!!” Hooty disappeared into the depths of the halls, to the protests of the witches.
Hooty had his chance when Hunter and Willow were walking back from Flyer Derby practice one day, strolling through the woods alone. They were in animated conversation as their palismen flew away
Perfect!
Hooty didn’t even have time to hear what the two were talking about when he snatched Willow up first, then Hunter in a quick tangle of his spine around the two young witches, impeded only by their muffled protests.
Within no time, he had the two right where he wanted them.
Now, to enact his plan.
Hooty used his beak to release the witches from their cage, and flipped the switch on the lights and mechanics of the set-up. “SuRPise!! WeLCOMe to tHE TuNNel ooOOf LoooOOOOoove!!”
Hunter scrambled up from the ground, brushing off feathers as he lunged at the house demon. “Hooty! Why did you–”
The owl demon dodged easily. “Nope! Hunter, this is your chance! Tell her how you feeeeeel!”
Willow looked over at Hunter, then gently collapsed her hand with hers. “So, Hooty–”
“OOH HOORAY! I KNEW I WOULD BE VICTORIOUS, THAT’S A NEW RECORD!!”
“No, Hooty–we’ve been dating for three months.” Willow batted a stray feather from her hair.
Hooty froze, blinking. “Wait WHAT?”
Hunter pulled Willow closer, looking at her shyly. “We confessed a couple months ago.”
Hooty tilted his head, thinking, then burst into ridiculous joy. “OooHH, YaaaAAAYY I wAs SuCCesSfUL!”
Willow scrunched her face up in confusion. “Hooty, we just said–”
“Too late! This is still a victory for Hooty!!” With that, Hooty retreated into the bowel of the Owl House, leaving the couple alone.
Hunter huffed, turning to Willow with a half smile. Willow giggled, leaning into his shoulder. He blushed.
Looking around, his eyebrows furrowed. “We should figure out how to get out of here, right?”
Willow pursed her lips. “Yeah, good call.”
