Work Text:
The three Oak children were seated in the kitchen, making christmas crafts. Kipo was making an ornament, Benson was sewing a little snowman and Wolf was drawing little christmas cards that Song was planning to give out to the citizens in Las Vistas later. Her handwriting was a bit wonky, but it was good enough.
Kipo was wearing an apron, which luckily kept all of the paint away from her new clothes. Benson kept stabbing himself in his fingers with the nail, but he wasn't complaining. Troy liked to sew, a talent that he got from his mother, and Benson wanted to make something home made as a christmas gift to show just how much he appreciated him.
Wolf had her tongue stuck out in concentration as she attempted to draw a christmas tree with presents under it. Kipo looked over her shoulder and saw Wolf's drawing. She was doing really well, especially since she hadn't drawn anything before. Wolf felt the gaze on her and looked up at Kipo before covering her drawing with her hand.
"Don't look, I'm not finished yet!" Wolf exclaimed.
She was drawing cards for her family as well, and she didn't want them to see it before the cards were ready.
"That's okay, don't worry!" Kipo giggled before going back to finishing the last details to her ornament.
It was really pretty, in her opinion. It was red, covered in red glitter. The front was covered in green text, saying 'Merry Christmas!'.
"I'll go and put this away to dry!" Kipo informed before standing up with her ornament.
She put it on a piece of newspaper before taking off her apron to put it back where she found it. When she returned to the kitchen, she saw Benson's work. He was doing really great. She was sure that Troy would love it.
"Oooh, good job! I didn't know you could sew so well", Kipo complimented, getting a smile in return.
"Yeah, me neither. I hope Troy's gonna like it", Benson answered.
"He's gonna love it, you'll see! This is a very thoughtful gift", Kipo said, gesturing towards the sewn snowman.
"Thanks!" Benson replied before going back to his craft.
Kipo stayed in the kitchen, wanting to enjoy spending some time with her siblings, despite the fact that nobody was talking to each other. Their company was more than enough for her. She drank a glass of water as she watched them work, smiling at their concentrated looks.
"Done! I'm going to grab a box and some wrapping paper!" Benson said before leaving the room to grab all of the stuff that he needed.
Kipo looked at Wolf's stack with christmas cards and giggled.
"How many are you making?" she asked in amusement and Wolf looked up at her in confusion before looking at her stack of cards.
"Oh! That's nothing, I need a lot more!" Wolf shrugged.
"Is everyone in Las Vistas gonna get a card?" Kipo asked and Wolf nodded.
"Yeah, mom told me that everyone needed to get a card."
Kipo smiled. Wolf was starting to call Song 'mom' a lot more often and it was starting to sound so natural whenever she said it, although she had only been living with them for a few months.
Benson returned with his stuff and started to wrap his present up. When he lived on the surface as a survivor, he and Dave would exchange gifts for christmas. He never used to wrap them up or put them in a box. He wanted his first gift to Troy to be perfect!
It took a bit of time, but he managed to make a decent looking present.
"Oh right, I need to give him a card!" Benson exclaimed before looking at Wolf with a grin. "Wolf, can you loan me one of yours?"
"Wait~" she mumbled, quickly starting on a new one. "Here you go!"
She handed him a green christmas card with a big, red heart in the middle. It fit perfectly for Benson's gift for his boyfriend!
"Thank you!" he said before turning it over to write a few love words on the other, uncolored, side.
Eventually, both of them finishes their crafts and presents. Wolf put all of her cards in a basket that Song would bring with her later when she would give out all of the cards.
The three siblings started to clean up their messes before leaving the kitchen to do other stuff on their own.
They enjoyed each other's company, but sometimes, they liked to do stuff alone too. Plus, they had the rest of december to come up with things to do before christmas.
