Work Text:
The first time that Ariel saw snow was on her honeymoon with Eric. From the moment she caught sight of the glittering flakes that were falling outside the window, she was transfixed.
She and Eric had bundled into their warmest clothes, and gone out to see it. It was colder than anything she had felt before, and she could only hold the snowflakes for a moment before they melted away.
By the next morning, the snow was no longer falling from the sky, but now entirely blanketed the ground.
Eric turned to Ariel with a smile, and asked, “Do you want to build a snowman?”
Ariel looked at him curiously. “A snowman? What’s that?”
“Come, I’ll show you.”
Together, they rolled three balls from the now-powdery snow, big enough to nearly reach Ariel's height once they were stacked. Then, they dug through the snow to find enough little stones for the snowman’s face and buttons, and two sticks for his arms.
Once they finished, Ariel beamed with pride.
“He’s perfect.”
“Hmm.”
“What is it?”
Eric took off his hat, and placed it on the snowman’s head.
“I just thought he looked a bit cold.”
“Oh, yes,” Ariel laughed, “of course.”
