Sam has been having a rough day. It seems like everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Spilled coffee, missing papers, getting soaked in the rain. It just kept getting worse and worse and Sam is feeling grumpy about it. He just wants this day to be over already.
He heads back to the apartment he shares with his boyfriend Steve. He's a little sad because he just remembered Steve won't be back in town for another couple of days and Sam just wants to cuddle with his boyfriend. And he wouldn't stop Steve from going out there, wouldn't stop him from saving the world, but some days Sam just needs him, too.
The lights are on when Sam enters the apartment. He tenses. Could this day get any worse?
But then Steve appears in the hallway. "Hello darling," he says.
"Hi," Sam responds. "You came home early."
"You know me, always working hard to get back to my guy as soon as possible," Steve says.
He kisses Sam. Sam feels better already, all the tension from this day leaving his body.
"I'm glad you are here," Sam says. "I had a horrible day but now at least I get my cuddles."
"Cuddles and comfort food," Steve says. "That should fix it."
They order pizza from their favorite place and cuddle on the couch while watching bad television. It's the perfect night after a terrible day.
