It was especially complicated when the personal-hero-slash-quasi-prisoner he'd been guarding suddenly turned into his hardass CO over the course of an hour. The moment Adrien got his tags and orders tossed at him, James got a taste of the real Commander Shepard he'd always wanted to serve with. All thanks to a straight-up giant alien robot squid invasion. Not how he ever envisioned that happening. And then there was the little complication of also falling for Commander Shepard's boyfriend.
