Work Text:
The Chief Justice brought a drunk man into his office -one slightly inebriated Duke.
It was quite rare for him to attend such a gathering at the Palais Mermonia, lest a party with people he did not give two cares about except one person - particularly the one touching his heated face right now.
Neuvillette offered the couch for the Duke to lay on, maybe some cold water to relieve the weariness of drink but the man shook his head. He will be fine, just being out of the party for a while; the quietness of the Iudex's office will soothe his headache.
"My apologies." Neuvillette realized that he had placed his hand where it might not be appropriate. But when he moved his hand away, he heard just a sigh.
"You can keep touching me," The Duke muttered, and in fact, he wanted his temples rubbed, his neck massaged. It felt good
Neuvillette's fingers moved on permission, the gloved tips sliding against the man's temple, cheek and gently, yet firmly gripping the tense muscles of Wriothesley's neck.
"Does this feel better?"
"Mhm-hm." Wriothesley leaned forward, laying his chin on Neuvillette's shoulder.
Neuvillette wanted to apologize for having sent this invitation (though it was mostly on persuasion of the melusines who really wanted to see Sigewinne at the party - the Chief Justice did not enjoy parties himself either but he relented on persuasion) but that he opened his mouth to speak, only to be silenced by the Duke's warm, wine-tinted mouth on his lips.
Neuvillette returned the kiss politely, like a greeting, not like a lover. Despite his semi-drunkenness, Wriothesley noticed.
Wriothesley believed everything can be spun in his favor, if he tried.
The Chief Justice was not particularly affectionate or cuddly. His kissing attempts pondered too much on how he should kiss, almost as if desire was in his head, rather than in his body.
"Chief Justice." Wriothesley muttered.
"Neuvillette is fine, Wriothesley."
"Monsieur."
Wriothesley muttered into the fine silk of the Chief Justice's mantle. He felt Neuvillette's body move, his arms coming forward, sliding around.
Clasping behind Wriothesley's back.
"We have ten minutes."
"It is sufficient." Wriothesley sighed a breath. He did feel better, less light-hearted but he was not ready to return to the party.
Neuvillette's next kiss was overcompensating.
Wriothesley's tongue licked gently into his lover's mouth, tension momentarily forgotten.
He undid the jabot's pins, pressing his mouth against Neuvillette's neck, into cold, smooth skin, and breathed; tasting rain-like sweetness before they sank down on a couch together.
