“Carole,” Carole heard how her childhood friend Susan, who had offered to come to keep her company at the beach, coughed once and pointed towards Bradley and Maverick. “Tell me again, how is Pete related to Bradley?”
Carole turned to peek at her friend, completely confused. Maverick and Bradley were up to their waist in the sea and seemed to play some game, maybe tag. Maverick brushed Bradley’s back once and Bradley laughed, then he tried to jump into Maverick’s lap and Maverick fell down into the waves.
“Pete is Bradley’s godfather. Why?”
