Most people are unaware that Logan gets hotheaded, ever since Savannah, he and his group have had to go through insane phenomena every, single, night, once the clock strikes twelve.
Nobody knows why this is happening to them specifically, but what they do know is that every night all they do out there is try to survive.
Once the seven hours are over and all of them are up again, they all go out and continue their lives like nothing has happened.
Nobody knows what they went through overnight and they intend to keep it a secret. Sure, there are some occasions when they have difficulty staying calm, but with the lack of sleep and mental drain from the night prior, it's a wonder they haven’t had many of those.
Everybody expresses their frustrations about the situation differently, Tyler and Taylor both have each other to talk about it, Ben has his music to calm him down, Ashlyn has dance, and Aiden has Ben, but they all have each other especially.
One Saturday morning when the gang “woke up” they all planned to meet at the graveyard to talk about plans and dissect what happened that night, Ashlyn was first to arrive, then Aiden and Ben, and not long after the twins. They all sat there waiting for one person, Logan.
“Can someone text him? To tell him to come here?” Ashlyn spoke up. “I already did. I reminded him thirty minutes ago.” Tyler replied.
“Does anyone know where he is?” Ashlyn asked, “What if he didn't even wake up!” Taylor yelped. “No way! does any have his address?” asked Aiden. Ben raised his hand and typed out the address on his phone app.
“Alright then, how will we even get there?” Ashlyn said, but when nobody replied, She felt a tap on her shoulder and turned around to see Aiden's face in a smirk, “No, you are not driving my parent's jeep”
Aiden’s smirk dropped “Then who will!” he yelped astonished. Ashlyn stopped for a second before sighing, “I guess I'll just ask my dad”
Tyler frowned “Why didn't you do that in the beginning?” Ashlyn looked at him “It's his day off, I didn’t want to disturb him”
Once Ashlyn got her dad to drive them there, the five of them walked up to what seemed to be Logans grandparent's house. She walked up to the front door and knocked on it, after a while nobody answered so she did it again and again before somebody finally opened the door.
An old man opened the door, and they assumed it was Logan's grandfather, “Who are you kids?” he asked, Taylor spoke up “We’re Logan's friends, and we were just checking to see if he was okay because he didn’t show up to our group meeting.”
The man furrowed his brow “What do you mean? He isn’t with you guys?”, “No sir,” Aiden smiled maliciously.
The man walked back into the house for a brief moment before they could hear him yell “Mary! Where did you say Logan went again?” a moment went by before you could hear someone walking down the stairs.” Why?” a lady replied.
“His friends are at the door looking for him!” the man yelled “What do you mean? He said he went out with his friends!” she said back.
The old lady appeared at the door “You kids say that he's not with you?” “uh no ma’am,” Tyler said scrunching his eyebrows,
“ Did he say he was with us?” Taylor asked “Yes this morning, it was quite early but he went out with his bag and all,” the lady said looking up to remember.
Ashlyn looked down furrowing her brow but before she could say anything the old lady spoke up “This isn’t the first time something like this has happened though” Ashlyn looked up “What do you mean?”
“ He does this every so often, he goes out, doesn’t reply to any calls or messages, but comes back hours later. God knows where he goes,” she said sighing “ So it's nothing you kids should be worrying about,” she said with a smile.
“Okay then, thank you, ma’am,” Taylor said with a small smile on her face. Once the lady shut the door Aiden immediately pulled out his phone, Ashlyn looked at him, “ What are you doing?” Aiden looked up “Oh I just forgot Snapchat has location” Tyler looked at him in disbelief “ Are you fucking kidding me?”
“Got it,” Aiden said gleefully showing them his phone. “I guess he forgot to turn it off” Taylor grabbed the phone “Where is he? That's like thirty minutes away!” she yelled looking up the the rest of them.
“Well, I guess we’ll see, What's the address?” Ashlyn asked walking back to the car, Aiden told her the address while following her.
When they all got back to the car Ashlyn told her dad the new address and off they went.
When they got off Tyler did a double-take before asking “ Are you guys sure this is the right place?” Ashlyn's dad looked back at the address and the place they were at “Yeah, I’m pretty sure…why are you guys checking out this place again?”
“We’re trying to find Logan, Dad,” Ashlyn said “Uh huh okay then call me if anything goes wrong,” he said before driving off.
The five stood in front of the location hesitant to go in. “Well, what are we waiting for?” Aiden asked confused.
Taylor looked down at the phone “Maybe someone stole his phone and brought it here?” Tyler looked at her “Why would someone steal his phone in the first place!” she looked at him “Maybe Barron took it, I don’t know!”
“Why would Barron be at an indoor shooting range!” They all stood there “ Plus he isn’t even old enough to go in anyway!” Tyler said blatantly.
“I don’t know about you guys but I’m going in,” Aiden said walking toward the building, Ben looked back before following him.
Ashlyn looked at the two and put her noise-canceling headphones on, “I’m going to find Logan” said looking at the two before she walked up to Aiden and Ben.
“Wait!” Tyler said but it was no use they were already at the doors. He looked at Taylor’s pleading eyes, groaning before sighing “C’mon”. Taylor gave a huge grin and ran up beside Ashlyn.
The five walked into the building and immediately the sound of bullets going off engulfed their ears.
They approached a buff man with an ID that said, Trevor. “Uh hi! We're trying to find our friend, Logan Fields? is he here?” Taylor asked
The man looked at all five of them before asking “Why?” “Were were supposed to meet up but he didn’t show,” Tyler said.
The man looked at his sheet before saying “Hold on” The man walked and dialed a number on his cell. Ashlyn's noise-canceling headphones prevented her from listening in on his conversation but she could hear the man talking to another guy probably older than fifty.
Once the man came in he gave them a key card and told them to go to room 6. The five walked into the hall where the sound of shooting could be heard from all sides around, Ashlyn winced but kept going. Aiden stuck his face at every window looking at all the people practicing their aim or even just learning how to shoot. Tyler complained about the man at the front “He didn’t even ask for our age or anything! What a lousy bitch, we could be getting shot in the head and I bet he wouldn’t even care...”
When they arrived at room six Aiden looked up at the sign first which said “Advanced” he raised his eyebrows. Taylor looked through the window gasping, signaling the rest to do the same.
Logan was seen with a towel around his neck and one hand on a gun he was wearing a tee-shirt and jogging pants, he held his hand up shooting at the moving target and hitting it directly in the middle.
The room was three times bigger than the first five, It had blocks leading up to other targets and moving ones at the bottom, every single target had multiple holes in them, some even falling apart.
Aiden let out an amazed chuckle “It seems glasses has been hiding something from us”
Ashlyn knocked on the door before opening it, Logan flinched and pointed the gun at them, he took a moment to look at the five before his face shifted from anger to confusion, and put the gun down.
“Wh-What are you guys doing here?” he asked out of breath, “Well we went to find you because you didn’t show up to the meeting,” Ashlyn said simply.
Logan looked at the five and saw Tyler's jaw wide open and his friend's surprised faces when they stepped in.
“I-i uh you guys aren’t supposed to be here,” he looked at them worried. There was a moment of silence before Aiden ran up the blocks and laughed “Yo! Look at all the holes on this one!”
“Well, I just come here to um get my emotions out sometimes..” Logan flushed red from embarrassment. “How are you even allowed to do all this stuff?” Taylor asked, “W-well my dad he can do some of this stuff.”
“Does he own the place?” Ashlyn asked looking around the place, “Uh..well um no.” he replied walking over to the bench against the wall. Ashlyn raised an eyebrow “Then what does he do?” Logan's eyes darted “ I don’t want to talk about it” Ashlyn looked at him for a moment before saying “Okay then..”
Tyler walked up to the wall of guns in amusement, “ Are these all yours?” Logan wiped his forehead with the towel around his neck, “No, not technically..”
Aiden jumped down from the blocks he was leaping on to grab a revolver off the wall, “Hey Logan, could I use this?” Logan looked up to see what he was talking about before hurriedly grabbing it away from him. “uh um no, sorry.” he looked up worriedly.
Ashlyn raised an eyebrow but didn’t comment on it. “Well..then can you show us?” She asked instead.
“Uh sure, just pick,” he said pointing to the gun wall. “Hell Yeah!” Aiden yelled looking at all of the firearms with awe.
Eventually, they all chose one and handed it over to him, “You should um stand back” They all went to the bench at the back wall and sat down looking at Logan patiently. Aiden looking at him gleefully while Tyler seemed worried, Taylor and Ben simply sitting on the bench, and Ashlyn covering her ears.
Logan stood in place inhaling deeply holding his armed hand out and pointing it at the target. He fired at every single target and didn’t miss once, always aiming right in the middle.
“Aw, Hell Yeah!” Aiden jumped up and swung his arm around Logan's neck, the rest of them cheered and patted him on the back.
Logan smiled and flushed red, I guess having friends isn’t so bad after all.
