Chapter Text
Pollux kicked her legs in and out, humming as she sat on a tree branch. She remembered the 'date' she and Lunar went on, or well... Her, Lunar, AND Castor went on. Pollux eagerly wanted to go on another, her legs seemingly running in place. She giggled and held her flushed face, rocking side to side.
"Pollux." She snapped out of it as she looked down from the tree to see Castor, she smiled.
"HIIIII!" She squealed as she jumped own from the tree branch, "How was training with Lunar?"
"It was fine. What go you so excited?" Castor asked, blinking with half lidded eyes.
"I was thinking about the 'date'! Wasn't it so fun?!" Pollux asked, eyes shining, "When can we do it again?!"
"Pollux, I read up on the 'date' thing again..." Castor muttered.
Pollux tilted her head, urging her brother to continue.
"A date is for a romantic partner, we were basically engaging in going out with Lunar. We weren't just hanging out with them." Castor explained.
Pollux's eyes widened, then she smiled more relaxed, "Is that bad?"
Castor blinked, "How are you not weirded out about this?"
"Eh, I guess I just don't care. I like Lunar, they're fun and I don't mind getting to know them!" Pollux said,
"Romantically?" Castor questioned.
"Do you not view them like that?" Pollux asked, tilting her head as she rocked on her heels. Castor looked away, frowning from where Pollux could see.
"Castor? Are you okay?" Pollux asked, trying to get a look at his expression.
Castor wasn't one to show emotion, but he was obviously uncomfortable by the subject. Pollux tried to tap his shoulder, but he moved away.
Pollux frowned, "Sorry..."
"For what?" Castor asked, finally turning to Pollux, his face was flushed.
"Making you uncomfortable..." Pollux fidgeted with her hands, then Castor placed his hands to hold hers. She looked up at Castor.
"It's okay, I just.... Haven't felt this way before..." Pollux saw Castor flap his hands, trying to be subtle but Pollux caught it.
Pollux started copying Castor in his flapping hands as she smiled, "It's okay Castor! We'll get through it together! Just like we always have!" Pollux said.
"Pollux. Castor."
The two turned as they saw Nebula.
She reached out a letter to them, "Your eyes only."
Pollux smiled at Nebula, who was awkwardly fidgeting.
"Thanks, Nebula!" Pollux said, but Nebula stayed even after Pollux's subtle dismissal.
"Do you need something?" Castor asked.
"I'm probably going to have to guide you after this." Nebula said, motioning to the letter.
Pollux and Castor shared a look before he opened the letter.
'We need to talk. Meeting now.'
- Libra
Castor's eyebrows scrunched as Pollux gave him a worried look.
"Merge." Castor said, holding out his hand to Pollux, she grabbed it.
The two became Gemini at that moment, the blurriness they called their vision as Gemini overtook them.
The world around them was now blurry, the colors blended together and it felt like their eyes were vibrating.
They knew they had to close their eyes before they got dizzy, so they did.
The imaginary perception of darkness was now their vision, they held out their arm.
"Nebula." Castor's voice rang out, they heard the crunch of leaves and the cold arm wrap around their elbow as Nebula became their guide. This was an obvious sign of trust, Gemini trusted Nebula to take them where they needed to go and Nebula knew how to guide them in the first place.
No tugging, don't steer, and absolutely go at a slow and steady pace.
Nebula and Gemini then teleported to where the others were.

Gemini felt the breeze disappear as they appeared in space, the harsh heat stung their skin. They realized where they were.
They knew nearing the sun was where Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius were very frequent. However, what baffled Gemini was that the water and earth astral bodies would hate to be here. Their powers would be null and void. Gemini knew most of the astral bodies hated their powers to be weakened, especially Taurus.
Libra picked this spot for a reason, but why?
"You ready?" Nebula asked, Gemini nodded.
"Lead the way." Gemini responded, Nebula's footsteps caught their attention and so they walked alongside her.
Walking on air was still surreal to Castor's side, him and Pollux might have been in space for half of their lives.
It still felt unreal.
Suddenly, Nebula's footsteps weren't the only things they heard. Pisces and Sagittarius were talking, but it wasn't exactly clear if it was about other galaxies or a planet that they hadn't discovered yet.
Pisces and Sagittarius always enjoyed exploring, since Taurus was the one destroying planets, it was their job to find more to keep all of them happy. Pisces and Sagittarius loved their job, they always had new stories that Pollux was always interested in.
Pisces and Sagittarius were always close to Pollux.
They were honestly REALLY like siblings to Pollux.
They also were nice to Castor, but they really weren't as close to him like they were with Pollux.
"I brought Gemini." Nebula announced as she stopped, making Gemini stopped alongside her.
"Good." Libra's voice rang out like a weight, leaving itself on Gemini to hold. The tone was anything but friendly or even happy to see them like usual.
Libra's parental nature had come out like claws on a cat, they were going to bare their fangs and Gemini knew it.
"What's going on?" Castor asked.
"Everyone. Sit." Libra said, "It seems Gemini needs a reminder of the mission."
Nebula guided Gemini to a chair, they sat down and tried to listen for any type of noise to give away what this was. A murmur, a whisper, anything.
The area was dead silent however.
Not a peep out of Pisces, not even the crackle of the sun's flames.
"Nebula, you may go. I'll call when we're done." Libra said, their tone sharp like a blade.
"Yes, Libra." Nebula said, Gemini knew that Nebula didn't sass or go against Libra.
Libra was on top, their word was almost law to every astral body.
Everyone knew not to fuck with them.
It seemed everyone also knew that Gemini did something wrong.
But what?
"Gemini. Mind explaining what you were doing with Lunar?" Libra said,
The sound of metal scraping against metal and Gemini knew Taurus or maybe Leo were sharpening their weapons. It made Pollux wince.
"Gemini. Answer." That wasn't an ask, that was a COMMAND.
A threat almost that Gemini felt compelled to answer.
"We were just spending time with them, watching them like you told us to." Castor's voice raised a little.
"Suuuure, both of you called it a date. Which we JUST heard is a romantic thing, want to explain.." Taurus started, his chair creaked, "WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?!"
Gemini had the urge to cover their ears, they hated when people yelled.
"Taurus. SIT." Libra said.
There was another creak.
"Gemini, you know that's not a good idea to pursue this one." Libra said, "You know Earthlings cheat, they hurt, they steal. You know that astral bodies can't... pursue ones that aren't astral bodies."
"I don't see how it's your business on who we see." Pollux piped up.
Castor went silent.
EVERYONE had went silent.
"Gemini. You know it's dangerous, ESPECIALLY since Lunar might be a threat." Sagittarius said cautiously.
"They aren't." Pollux bit back.
"Just because your upset, doesn't mean you can treat us this way." Libra growled, the sound of metal scraping metal stopped suddenly.
"We're not upset. We're annoyed, it's not your choice to decide what we do!" Pollux said,
"ACTUALLY IT IS!" Libra shouted, making Gemini shrink back, “I’M the leader, I’M the one keeping this group together!”
”If you don’t start thinking about the mission, we’re pulling you out of it! I’m sure Taurus or Leo would be more than happy to get results from Lunar!” Libra shouted.
The thought of those two training Lunar made them sick to their stomach. They knew they’d work him to death.
Even that made Gemini tremble,
”Do I make myself clear?” Libra asked.
Silence, but Libra was patient.
”Yes, Libra.” Gemini said in defeat.
”You know I am only hard on you because I care, right?” Libra said, the creak sound then a hand patting their head.
Yeah right.
”Yes, Libra.” Gemini said, standing up.
”Let me call Nebula for you.” Libra said, Gemini nodded numbly.
“You called, Libra?” Nebula’s voice made Gemini flinch.
”Take Gemini back to Earth.” Libra said, the tone was almost hesitant as if Libra was hesitating.
Gemini held out their arm and Nebula took it, they then teleported away.
